OtterBox helps to protect your new HTC One (M8)

otterbox-htc-one-m8So, you already have the intention of picking up the all new HTC One (M8) flagship smartphone from your mobile carrier (assuming that they offer it, of course). What is the next step after getting the handset? Why, it would make perfect sense if you decide to offer your spanking new smartphone a certain amount of protection. If that were to be the case, then it would be prudent of you to settle for something from a company who has had plenty of experience in this particular area before, which would be OtterBox. OtterBox has just announced their Defender Series as well as Commuter Series of protective cases for the HTC One (M8).

This does not come across as a surprise at all, since OtterBox happens to be a partner in the “Made for HTC devices” global licensing program. As for the OtterBox Symmetry Series, this happens to be a sleek, one-piece case which will be able to balance trusted OtterBox protection alongside fashion-forward styling in a range of colors and graphics, not to mention Clearly Protected screen and device protectors that will be made available in due time.

The Defender Series for HTC One (M8) will be able to deliver a rugged, triple-layer protection which guards against drops, shock, dust and scratches. There is a built-in screen protector, polycarbonate shell and synthetic rubber outer layer that works well together to help safeguard HTC’s flagship device even though it happens to be in the most demanding of environments, all without cramping its style or any of its features.

As for the Commuter Series for HTC One (M8), it will merge a durable inner synthetic rubber layer with a thin polycarbonate outer shell and self-adhesive screen protector. This synthetic rubber is able to absorb bumps and shocks as the outer hard shell provides solid impact protection, where it slides easily in and out of a pocket or purse.

Clearly Protected happens to be a premium line of custom-cut screen protectors and device wraps which will offer additional protection against scratches and scuffs. Their dry application process and bubble-free technology ought to make the installation process a no brainer, and yet is capable of withstanding heavy daily use.

OtterBox Commuter Series Wallet Case Protects Your iPhone

If you’re anything like me, you always have your smartphone with you. I always have a fear of losing something in my pocket, especially my car keys, so it drives me crazy to have a lot of things stuffed inside the pockets of my jeans. If you like to go a bit more minimalist and don’t want to have to carry your smartphone and your wallet, OtterBox has a new case that you might appreciate.

The case is called the Commuter Series Wallet and is available for the iPhone 5/5S and the Samsung Galaxy S4. This certainly isn’t the first case on the market to offer wallet capability, but it does look like OtterBox’s offering will hold more than a lot of other cases on the market. OtterBox is also well-known for making cases that actually protects your phone in the event of a drop.

Rather than having slots, this smartphone case has a sliding drawer on the back that appears to be approximately a quarter of an inch deep. You can cram credit cards, driver’s license, and cash inside the wallet drawer and have them with you at all times. The only downside I see is that the case is rather thick and might not fit in your pocket if you’re the sort who wears skinny jeans.

The Commuter Series Wallet is available now from OtterBox for $44.95(USD).

OtterBox iPhone 4/4S Defender Series case with iON now available

If you use an iPhone 4/4S and need more runtime for your smartphone a new battery case has launched from OtterBox. The battery case is called the iPhone 4/4S Defender Series with iON Intelligence. We saw this device when it was a prototype back during CES in January.

image00064-580x327

The battery case is no longer a prototype and is now available to purchase. The case is designed to provide the impressive protection against drops that the OtterBox Defender series is famous for. It’s also designed to give you more runtime when you are away from an outlet.

OtterBox uses its three layer protection common with all of the Defender Series cases. The most interesting part of this case is its iON Intelligence capability that automates the power management process. Rather than continuously charging the phone, even if it’s fully charged already, the case knows when your phone needs more power. An interactive app goes along with the case and monitors the the amount of battery life remaining for both your phone and the case.

The case has 10 LED lights along the bottom edge to show you how much power is left in its internal battery. The case also comes with a micro USB cable designed to charge the case to allow you to sync the phone at the same time. OtterBox says that the case will charge your iPhone until it reaches 100% battery capacity or for up to two hours before it stops charging. The case will automatically begin charging again when the phone drops to a power level of 60%. The case is available right now for $129.95.

OtterBox Introduces Defender Series And Commuter Series Cases For HTC One

OtterBox Introduces Defender Series And Commuter Series Cases For HTC OneThe name OtterBox ought to invoke good memories for those who value the longevity of their mobile phone as well as other portable electronic devices, as history has shown that OtterBox offerings tend to live up to their reputation more often than not, offering the first line of defense against knocks and drops. Well, having said that, we are glad to bring you word that OtterBox has just announced the Defender Series as well as Commuter Series cases for the HTC One, as part of the “made for HTC devices” global licensing program.

The Defender Series was specially designed to ensure that devices remain unscathed, thanks to a trio of robust layers. First of all, there is a high-strength screen protector that has been incorporated into a sturdy polycarbonate shell, followed by it being wrapped by a durable silicone outer layer. Working hand in hand, this “first-class fortress” delivers protection from drops, dust and scratches. Heck, OtterBox even throws in a holster-style swivel belt clip that makes it a snap to carry your HTC One, or watch media on it.

As for the Commuter Series, it delivers a slim, sleek and attractive enclosure for the HTC One. There is a hard polycarbonate outer shell while a heavy-duty inner silicone layer helps cushion the device in the event of an impact. [Press Release]

Otterbox iPhone 4 / 4S Defender case with iON Intelligence launching April 18th for $130 (video)

It was at CES that we were first introduced to Otterbox’s Defender case with iON Intelligence, which promises to keep phones alive in two ways: by shielding them from physical abuse, and by serving up extra juice whenever they’re thirsty. Otterbox has now told us the new case is nearly ready to bounce off hit the streets, and will be launching on April 18th for the iPhone 4 and 4S. The case combines the familiar hard shell, rubbery sleeve and screen protector for laughing off falls, with a 1,450mAh battery — that’s a sliver bigger than the 4 / 4S built-ins — to effectively double capacity. LEDs on the case let you know how much extra juice is left, and the companion iON Intelligence app automatically redirects power when it’s needed, and monitors usage to predict how long ’til your next charge. The iPhone 4 / 4S model will be available from Otterbox’s online den for $129.95, and others are in the works for “other top iOS and Android devices.” Check out the promo videos below for a full product walkthrough.

Belkin and OtterBox announce Samsung GALAXY S 4 cases

I’m sure we’ll see our fair share of cases for the new Samsung GALAXY S 4 release over the next few weeks and months, but Belkin and OtterBox have come right out of the gate to announce that they’ll be offering cases for the new phone when it arrives in late April. Belkin has already released photos of their new cases, while OtterBox is keeping it a mystery for the time being.

Belkin will be releasing 11 cases in total. The Wallet Folio case being their most premium case for the new phone. It will be priced at $49 and will feature genuine leather, a cover that folds up into a stand, and there will even be pockets inside to store small things like credit cards, IDs, and receipts.

As for OtterBox, they will have their usual lineup of cases available for the GALAXY S 4, including their Defender Series, Commuter Series, and Reflex Series. The Defender Series is OtterBox’s premium option that offers the best protection, while the Reflex Series offers a low-profile design that’s sturdy enough to take on a few hits.

Belkin says their cases will be available in “April 2013″ while OtterBox has yet to officially announce availability, although the cases will “soon be available” for the new device. Again, we should be hearing about more companies in the coming weeks who will be releasing their own cases, but Belkin and OtterBox seem to have been the first ones to the line.

OtterBox HTC One cases “coming soon”

OtterBox is well known for their robust cases for a handful of devices. They offer a bit of insurance in case you ever drop your phone, or even throw your phone at a wall in a fit of anger. After the official HTC One announcement earlier this week, it looks like OtterBox is taking no time to introduce cases for the new smartphone.

Screen Shot 2013-02-21 at 4.34.39 PM

OtterBox has made three cases for the HTC On using their popular line of Commuter and Defender series of cases. The regular Defender HTC One case will cost $50 and will come in a bevy of different colors that you can choose from, including black, glacier (grey/white mix), blushed (grey/pink mix), and punked (black/green mix).

The company is also offering a RealTree Defender case, which will give your phone a nice camouflage look, just in case you need to be completely hidden while hunting out in the woods, smartphone and all. This case will cost you $60. As for the Commuter series, an HTC One case will cost you $35 and it will come in a mixture of colors as well, including black, glacier, steel blue (black/teal mix), lilac, black/purple mix), and punked.

There’s no word on availability yet, but the company allows you to submit your email address to be notified when the new cases eventually become available, which should be sometime in March (the same time that the actual phone is releasing). These cases may not be as tough as the Armor series of cases that we checked out at CES last month, but you’ll be guaranteed that your brand new HTC One will be well protected using any OtterBox offering.
