Doctor Who Dress Truly is Bigger on the Inside

I never thought that it was possible to make a TARDIS dress that is actually bigger on the inside, but just like science, the internet eventually makes all things possible.

[Insert joke about entering the TARDIS and fiddling around with her circuitry here.]

The cosplayer you see wearing this awesome TARDIS dress is Sasha Trabane. It was painted by Andy Coyle for the recent Arisia science fiction convention in Boston, MA. Needless to say, it won two prizes at the event.

I think it is safe to say that this dress can not be outdone. But of course, the internet will surely find a way. And when it does, we will share it with you.

Video Game Sunglasses Keep the Pixels out of Your Eyes

While I question the practicality of these perforated “sunglasses,” there’s no question at all about their awesomeness – as they’re embellished with cool images from pop culture and retro video games.

According to their creator, Hong Kong-based artist Millie Chiu, the tiny holes actually can help short-sighted or long-sighted vision by filtering out indirect light sources – the result being sharper vision.

Each pair is hand-drawn, with scenes ranging from Pac-Man and Space Invaders, to game health indicators, and a TV color bar test pattern. Remember those? I don’t remember the last time I saw one of those in today’s era of 24-hour-a-day broadcasting.

Each pair of perforated shades sells for just $20(USD) over at IAMKAMTY’s Etsy shop. If you grab a pair, let us know how well you can see out of them. Even if you can’t, you’ll still look cool.

Jabba the Hutt Purse Perfect for Holding onto All Your Bounty

Ladies, the next time you decide to dress up in your Slave Leia outfit, you might need a purse to go with it. And there’s no more perfect handbag on the planet than this Jabba the Hutt purse I spotted over on Etsy.

jabba hutt purse

Artist Cat Penfold found an old lizard-textured vinyl purse and gave it the perfect Jabba the Hutt paintjob. She first coated it with a sickly green wash, then painted on Jabba’s beady orange eyes and double triple quadruple chin. His mouth took care of itself thanks to the shape of the purse. The whole thing has been coated with durable UV-protective finish, which should protect it from the harsh suns on Tatooine.

This one-of-a-kind Jabba handbag is available over Etsy for $80(USD), so if you want it, you’d better grab it now. If not, you might have to just settle for an Ewok purse instead…

Avengers Matryoshka Dolls: Stack and Assemble!

With over a billion dollars at the box office, The Avengers are having a banner year, so I wouldn’t be surprised if you wanted some Avengers themed collectibles for your desk, right? How about some awesome Avengers Matryoshka (Russian stacking dolls)?

avengers matryoshka 1

This set of Avengers stacking dolls was made by Australian artist Irene Hwang of BoBo Babushka. Each one is hand painted, and the set includes eight stacking Avengers ranging from the 9″ tall Incredible Hulk to the 3/4″ Loki. I know, Loki is a bad guy, but she made him so tiny it’s almost like he’s not even there.
