Apple Product Launch Frenzy Parodied In Somersby Cider Commercial

Apple’s recent commercials have been, in our opinion, a bit lackluster as they no longer talk about their products. Instead, they focus on the experiences its users can expect from their iOS products. Apple really should use the excitement and long-lines that are synonymous with the launch of a new Apple product, especially their mobile devices.

Somersby Cider decided to launch a new commercial that parodies the experience Apple fans go through when a new product launches. Except, of course, the product that’s featured in the following commercial is a cider. The commercial uses a lot of tech terminology that you would find Apple employees describing their products, such as a “16-pit” apple, or buying a cider that’s “completely wireless.”

The Somersby Cider commercial really does a great job at parodying the frenzy that goes on when a new Apple product is launched. It captures the excitement both Apple’s customers as well as their employees experience that day, but again, this is over cider, which makes its excitement completely ironic.

What If Buying Hard Cider Was Like Buying an Apple Product

Somersby Cider in the UK created a cheeky commercial that pokes fun of Apple product launches by imagining a world where buying hard cider is like getting a new iPhone. The Genius Bar would be a real bar and workers would talk about how many cores inside the apple, how many pits and how to use the “in to face” and dock the glass of hard cider. More »

‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Parody’: Lord of the Drunks

Contrary to popular belief, Hillywood is not a group composed of hillbillies who have nothing better than to do than make parodies of Hollywood’s most popular films. They’re actually a group of fine, upstanding folks who have nothing better to do than make awesome parodies of Hollywood’s most popular films. See what I did there?

Hillywood ParodyThe Hobbit hits theaters in less than two weeks, so anticipation for the first movie in the trilogy is at an all-time high.

Before fans go rabid for having to wait so long, Hillywood kindly took it upon themselves to churn out this hilarious parody that has the multitude of dwarves in the movie partying and chugging down shots like there’s no tomorrow! The best part? Gandalf the Grey even joins in on the fun.

The most surprising part? There’s not a flagon of mead amongst them.

Twitter Parody Accounts Hail the Eventual Arrival of the #royalbaby

So it’s official: Prince William and Kate are having a baby. To some, it’s great news. To the curious, it’s information worth knowing. To the vast population, it’s merely news that doesn’t have anything to do with them. But among this latter group exists a smaller group who make it their business to talk about it anyway: Twitter parody accounts.

Royal TwitterIf you’re active on Twitter, then chances are you’ve seen a couple of these accounts and might even be following some of them.

They’re mostly there for comic relief when you need it. With the lack of mockable news lately, it’s only to be expected that most of them will leech onto news of Kate’s pregnancy:

Facebook’s First Ever Ad Gets a Hilarious Toilet-Themed Parody

It’s no secret that Facebook’s not doing so hot ever since they went public. The social network recently hit 1 billion users and to keep their numbers up (and perhaps to try making Facebook more relevant?), they recently released their first ever ad.

facebook parody

Oddly, the ad highlights how Facebook is like a chair. I kid you not. The ad talks about chairs and comes across as one of those artsy-fartsy videos that force you to come to some deep realization at the very end. Throw in doorbells, airplanes, and bridges, and that’s the ad for you in a nutshell.

Here’s the original Facebook ad, in case you haven’t seen it yet:

There’s only one mention of Facebook in the commercial, and the site isn’t featured even once, although that’s understandable considering this is a branding ad. However, the ad leaves a lot of room for ridicule and that’s the route that a lot of people did since it came out. One parody likens Facebook to toilets – you’ll have to check out the clip below to find out why. (Warning: Language NSFW)

What If Batman Used Apple Maps? [Video]

Here’s an Apple Maps parody that’s absolutely hilarious: what if Batman used Apple Maps in The Dark Knight to find Rachel Dawes? Yeah, that wouldn’t have been good. Siri would have sent Batman down wrong turns, parking lots and malls just to see everything get blown up. More »
