When you eat a big meal like a Thanksgiving Dinner or feast during the holidays or gorge out on Super Bowl party platters and leftovers, you’re probably eating a lot more than what your body is used to. Some sources say those heavy party dinners can range anywhere from 3,000 to 4,500 calories. That’s quite a belly full of food. Here’s what it looks like in ‘everyday’ food (hopefully you don’t eat like this everyday).
Here’s a trick you can do for your next house party: fill the pool with non-Newtonian fluid and have people run across it, dance all over it, ride their bikes over it and so forth. Like, come on dude, you’re walking on water, how can you not have fun?

Dry ice is one of the most tried and true Halloween special effects. Simply drop a chunk into a liquid, then it begins to "boil" and emit a dense, creepy fog. Not only that, it’s cheap, simple to use, and way easier to find than you probably thought. It also happens to be fantastic—and fantastically ghoulish—in a lot of cocktails.
There’s always something cool about any gadget that lights up like a Christmas tree. Whether you like it or not, they will grab your attention. This new JBL speaker is no exception. It looks like a great add-on for impromptu house parties.
The JBL Pulse LED Speaker is a small cylindrical speaker with a bunch of LEDs that will light up in sync with your music. Sound is produced by a pair of 40mm drivers and a 2x6W amp. Its rechargeable battery will last up to ten hours on one charge in audio mode, and up to five hours with the light show going.
Music is streamed via Bluetooth, and NFC enables quick pairing with compatible devices. There are five preset light configurations to choose from or you can customize the setup from an app.
The JBL Pulse speaker sells for $199.95(USD). It’s available for pre-order right now, and should start shipping in early November.
In a perfect world, all faucets have three knobs: hot, cold, and liquid nitrogen. We’re not there (yet!) but these ten little party tricks from The King of Random are the perfect reason to wish we were.
Gotta invite ‘em all? Then what better way to do that than by sending out Pokémon card-themed invites?
That’s what Redditor jerrikag did for her son Logan aka Logatchu’s, who’s celebrating his sixth birthday with an awesome (and presumably) Pokémon-themed party.
Why stick with boring generic invites when you can create some super effective ones that’ll get people talking and extremely excited about your party?
Logan’s mom did an awesome job with the invites. No doubt she’ll do better at the party, where pizza and cake will be served. As icing on the cake, there’s even going to be a pinata! I wonder if it’ll be a Pokeball.
Happy birthday, Logan, and we hope you enjoy your party!

Let’s face it, for some gamers going to a party is harder than playing a video game. And for partiers, playing video games is harder than partying. So what if we combined the two worlds and made a video game just for partying? It’d be a lot tougher than you think. Balancing getting drunk, meeting people, hanging with your friends, finding someone to hook up with and having a good time… without making mistakes. More »
Disposable paper plates are wasteful. Unfortunately, they’re one of the few options if you’re having a picnic or hosting an outdoor meal for various reasons. Re-using them doesn’t seem like a very hygienic or practical thing to do, since most get soiled pretty badly after one use anyway.
An upgrade to the conventional paper plate comes in the form of the Plate-Oh!
It’s basically a paper plate with ten disposable layers pressed on top of it. So instead of throwing the plate away after using it once, you’ll simply have to peel the soiled, topmost layer off by lifting the corner of that layer and pulling gently. Dispose of that layer, and voila! You’ve got a clean paper plate to use for the next party!
The Plate-Oh! concept was designed by Sahar Madanat Haddad, and there are no immediate plans to commercialize the Plate-Oh!

Couldn’t make it to New Orleans for Mardi Gras this year? You’re not alone. Who throws a giant street party on a Tuesday, anyways? That’s what long weekends are for. But don’t be too disappointed at missing out on the fun. More »
