How Jeff Gordon Scared The Crap Out Of Me With This Epic Prank

I keep to myself in cabs. But one thing that gets my attention is a driver with a neck tattoo telling me that he just got out of jail after 10 years and that the cop behind is making him nervous. And especially when he starts a police chase while yelling "I can’t go back." I thought this was the end.

Pepsi Wants Scent Capsules So Its Bottles Don't Smell Like Plastic

Cracking open a cold bottle of Pepsi, only to be hit by the smells of the chemicals in the plastic container instead of the cola, can ruin the experience. And for a company that’s perpetually been a runner up in the Cola Wars, finding new ways to gain traction with consumers is vitally important. So through a patent application, PepsiCo has revealed a unique aroma delivery system that ensures the first thing you smell is always the product.

Pepsi-Flavored Cheetos are a Thing

Japan is home to a number of unusual foods, but one thing I never imagined there’d be a market for was Cheetos that taste like Pepsi. Then again, I once accidentally dipped my movie popcorn into my Diet Coke, and it was delicious. That whole salty/sweet combo thing, I suppose.

I’m assuming some management consultant decided this would be a good idea as a way to bring Frito Lay and Pepsi closer together, since they’re both owned by PepsiCo. This unconventional puffed corn snack food not only has Pepsi flavoring, but have been given a fizzy and crackling sensation which sounds a bit like toned-down Pop Rocks. According to Steve over at The Impulsive Buy, they actually smelled a bit like powdered cinnamon donuts, with a hint of a flat cola aroma.

Apparently, there’s no cheese flavor at all on these Cheetos (so much for the salty/sweet theory), and instead kist a strange Pepsi-ish flavor that’s a bit too lemony to be accurate.

If you happen to live in Japan, you can find a 12-pack over at Kenko for ¥1575 (~$16 USD), but for the rest of the world, we have been spared of this delicacy for now.

Give the Gift of Pepsi and Win Free Drinks on PepsiCo’s Interactive Vending Machine

Months after Coca-Cola rolled out their ‘Open Happiness’ vending machines, Pepsi is following suit. They won’t be giving away free bottles of soda for hugs, although you will be able to give people the gift of Pepsi and play a game to score free drinks.

You can buy drinks for yourself or for a friend. To send a gift to someone, all you have to do is punch in the recipient’s email address and name. The machine will then send them a code, which they can key in on the machine to claim. Of course, that assumes your friend is somewhere near one of these machines as well.

The Pepsi vending machine is also programmed with a game that you can play to win 20-ounce beverage bottles for yourself.

Pretty cool vending machine, but I prefer Coca-Cola’s because, really, what can beat getting free Coke for a hug? What do you think?

The PepsiCo Interactive Vending Machine dispenses Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Sierra Mist Natural, Aquafina and Lipton Green Tea, and can be found at Columbiana Centre (Columbia, SC), Clackamas Town Center (Happy Valley, OR), Oglethorpe Mall (Savannah, GA), Oakwood Mall (Eau Claire, WI) and Park City Center (Lancaster, PA).

What Would Happen If Those Coca-Cola Polar Bears Really Drank Soda? [Video]

I once loved everything about soda. Its amazing refreshing ability, its sweetness, its bubbles—it was magic in liquid form. But of course it came with the cost of ridiculous amounts of sugar and calories. So I cut back. But for people who don’t cut back on soda? Watch out. Here’s what would happen if those cute Coca-Cola polar bears really drank soda. More »

Purchase a Pepsi via Facebook in the UK

Earlier this year, we talked about how Pepsi’s social vending machine was a move to increase their brand awareness, and here we are into the second half of the year, with word that PepsiCo might just roll out an interactive vending machine in the UK, enabling shoppers to purchase drinks for their friends who have a sweet tooth. This can be performed remotely over Facebook.

The name Pepsi Touch has also been trademarked in the process, where this particular service launched in the US last year. Apart from purchasing a drink for yourself, you can also opt to give one to your mate in a simple manner – just enter the recipient’s name, phone number and a personalized text message, and you are good to go.

Pepsi and Coca-Cola are two great rivals in the beverage industry, so the former’s foray into interactive vending machine arena was already done in some way by Coca-Cola three years ago, via the ‘Freestyle’ drinks dispenser Stateside. [Press Release]
