Did you know that some cats sleep up to twenty hours a day? No wonder some of them can grow as fat as forty pounds (that’s what the world’s fattest cat weighed before it up and died of pulmonary disease). Given their usually laid-back nature, the perfect gift you can get your cat is probably this cat hammock.
So it’s called the Cat Crib, but it looks like the cat version of the hammocks many of us lazy humans enjoy, especially on those warm summer afternoons.
It looks pretty cool and it also saves you space at home, since you won’t need to get a cat bed anymore. Just attach the hammock on anything that has four legs (chairs or a coffee table, maybe?) and you’re all set. Unless you’ve got a 40 pound cat, of course.
The Cat Crib is available online for $29 (USD) in black, purple or a neutral colors.

Your pet gives you nothing but undying love and affection from the crack of dawn until they curl up by your feet at night. So why not repay their selfless admiration with toys and accessories that make them look and feel like nothing but a sight gag? Here’s everything you need to completely and utterly humiliate your pet, leaving no doubt that stain they left on the living room rug wasn’t an accident. More »
Most homeowners install surveillance cameras to keep an eye out for intruders. But Maspro’s new system is designed to keep an eye on those already inside—your pets. And it’s able to automatically track and follow them as they move about a room. More »
Earlier this morning, we took a look at the Dog Caller which will inform you on your smartphone should the temperature of your pooch and its surroundings reach dangerously high levels that heat stroke is a possibility, so that you will be able to take some preventive measures. Well, another way of going around this issue would be to purchase the ClimateRight dog house, where this 2,500 BTU unit is able to heat, cool, purify and dehumidify pet houses as long as they are no larger than 350 cubic feet in size – translated to 7′ x 7′ x 7′ just in case you were wondering. Summers can be sweltering, where the mercury shoots up all the way – and we humans who have the advantage of air conditioning might not figure out just how it feels like to be a black Labrador Retriever with a double coat. Good thing there are those cooling down coats that dogs can wear to keep themselves cool, while pooches in the future might soon be able to wear special collars which will send a text message over to their respective masters should it get way too hot. Known as the Dog Caller (got to love the pun in the name), it features a heat sensor, cellular circuitry and a SIM card. Specially programmed to send out an alert once the temperature hits 79 degrees Fahrenheit, this device by Rethink Canada could potentially save the lives of future pooches.
The Dog Caller will be able to send out a text message alert with the current temperature reading so that the owner can take the necessary precautionary measures to avoid the unwanted. This idea was thought up of after the owner of a golden retriever nearly had his pooch overheat, so to speak, while he was out running an errand.

Thought to have been banished to the pits of hell sometime in the early 2000s, the ferociously annoying cyber-creature known as “Furby” as reared its ugly head again. Now it’s available for pre-order, so you better brace for impact. More »
What is the world coming to these days? Well, some of us tend to treat our pets better than our human friends and relatives, which certainly raises eyebrows. If you thought that your cat should share your love of Justin Bieber, then you might want to consider getting it a pair of cat headphones from Sol Republic. What’s that, you ask? Yes, cat headphones – which is certainly a confirmation of the decadence of our times when you consider that the money used to research a pair of headphones for cats could have been used to feed the hungry elsewhere in the world. Seriously, cats have done perfectly fine without headphones for so many thousands of years, what reason is there for them to put on a pair now and end up as a “Belieber”?
Professor Meowingtons said through an interpreter, “For too long, felines around the world have had to listen to music solely through speakers, or through ill-fitting headphones designed for humans. My SOL REPUBLIC headphones for cats are the world’s first headphones designed by cats, for cats. Our extensive testing has indicated that the headphones will also fit small dogs, but they are not for dogs. I’m not kidding, don’t even think about putting these things on a dog.” Definitely one of the wackier stories to date, and it isn’t even April 1st.
