Nikon D3300 Accidentally Revealed Ahead Of Schedule

Nikon D3300 Accidentally Revealed Ahead Of ScheduleEarlier we reported on a rumored that Nikon could be looking to announce new cameras at CES 2014, such as the Nikon D4 and the Nikon D3300. We’re still waiting for an official announcement of sorts but until then, it looks like the folks over at Tom’s Guide might have let the cat out of the bag a little earlier than expected when they accidentally published an article related to the upcoming Nikon D3300. Presumably the article was under embargo and the post has since been removed (you can view the cached post above), but it does highlight some of the Nikon D3300’s features as well as provide us with a look as to what the camera could look like.

According to their post, the Nikon D3300 is the successor to the D3200 which was introduced last year. Some of the D3300’s specs includes an upgrade to 5fps shooting from 4fps from the Nikon D3200, an Expeed 4 chip to power the camera, ISO sensitivity increased from 12,800 to 25,600, video capture at 1080p Full HD at 60fps with 24 and 30fps options available as well, a new panorama mode, and will not sport an optical low-pass filter. Oddly enough despite the D3300 being a successor to the D3200, the latter will not be discontinued, so for those looking for an entry level camera but don’t need all the bells and whistles, perhaps the D3200 could be an affordable option.

The flagship model is the Panasonic HC-2850 which features Twin Camera. Fujifilm Unveils FUJINON XF56mmF1.2 R Lens For Portrait Photography

Fujifilm Unveils FUJINON XF56mmF1.2 R Lens For Portrait Photography[CES 2014] If there’s one thing that new photographers tend to be confused about is why are lenses considered good for portraits typically of the prime variety that are quite zoomed in? Well one of the reasons is because it allows photographers to frame the face/neck/shoulders of their subject nicely, plus there are some photographers who feel that prime lenses are less complex compared to zoom lenses, which means that they can be cheaper and even sharper than regular zoom lens. Well if you’re after a portrait lens, you might be very interested in Fujifilm’s recently announced FUJINON XF56mmF1.2 R lens, which is an 85mm equivalent lens that Fujifilm is calling perfect for portrait photography.

Nikon D4 Rumored For CES Announcement

Nikon D4 Rumored For CES AnnouncementCES 2014 is taking place this week and we’re looking forward to learning about a bunch of new devices that will be debuting at the event. We expect manufacturers to unveil all sorts of cool technological innovations and if the rumors are to be believed, Nikon is expected to make an announcement at CES as well and could very well announce a successor to the Nikon D4 DSLR camera. This rumor comes courtesy of Digicame-info who reports that CES could be the platform that Nikon is taking advantage of to make their announcement. They are also reporting that alongside the D4 successor announcement could be two new lenses as well as a certain D3300.

We have heard rumors that Nikon could be planning a successor for its D4 camera and given that the camera is about 2 years old, we guess it does seem about right that Nikon would be looking to introduce a newer model with upgraded features. The specs of the camera are unknown at the moment, but hopefully we will learn more later this week. There is also a possibility that if Nikon does not make the announcement at CES 2014, they might make an announcement at CP+ which is taking place not too long after CES, but either way check back with us later this week to see if there is any official news to be had.

    Fujifilm Launches X100S In Black

Fujifilm Launches X100S In Black[CES 2014] These days form is starting to become a priority amongst manufacturers, who might have in the past created productions that focused more on function. Those aren’t necessarily bad traits to have but if you wanted something that looked good and functioned equally well, Fujifilm has recently announced the X100S which will be coming in an all black design, giving the camera a somewhat sleek and elegant look. For those hearing about the Fujifilm X100S for the first time, this is a camera that was released by the company back in 2013 and featured a retro look, which we guess sits well with old school photographers and those who might be fans of vintage-looking gadgets.
