Pizza Hut’s Touch Table Lets You Design the Perfect Pie

You have no shortage of pizza choices. In your area alone, you probably have several hundred pizza shops. Well, Pizza Hut has a plan to get you in the door and leave those others behind.

This proof-of-concept interactive table was created in partnership with Chaotic Moon Studios. It lets you visualize your order as you are designing it. You can pick your crust, select your sauce and cheese; then add toppings like chicken, pepperoni or whatever you want. Then you can choose cheese sticks, Spicy Asian wings or Hershey’s Chocolate Dunkers. Once your order is complete, you can pay by placing an NFC compatible smartphone on the tabletop.

It is basically the same way you order from them online already, just in a more interactive form. The chain is no doubt hoping that this entices more customers and speeds up orders. Oh, and while you wait for your pizza, you can play some Angry Birds.

Pizza Hut interactive table makes ordering pizza fun

Normally, what are the steps that one takes when you decide to order a pizza simply because you do not want to brave the massive traffic gridlock at rush hour, not to mention there are other things that you could do with the amount of time saved? Why, it could be as simple as picking up the phone and giving the nearest pizza parlor a call, or you could also head online and make an order with your existing account. The folks over at Pizza Hut intend to spruce things up a whole lot more by introducing what could very well be the future of pizza ordering. Just take a look at the YouTube video above and you will know what I mean – customers who are seated at their respective tables will be able to place an order of the pizza that they like accordingly, where the order would be sent straight to the kitchen to join the order queue.

I guess this is good in a way where you can spend your time concocting the various kinds of toppings that you would like to have without having the waiter or waitress stand patiently at your table due to one’s indecision. Alternatively, it eliminates the need for waiters or waitresses to a certain extent, although floor service would still be very much in demand at any decent restaurant.

The special interactive table with its app was specially developed by Pizza Hut and digital partner Chaotic Moon, where it redefines the in-store ordering experience through the inclusion of a fun element of collaboration for groups. Basically, everyone who is at the table are able to explore the menu and make a contribution to the order from wherever they’re sitting. There will be step-by-step visuals that guide the selection process, ensuring that the ordering process is not only efficient but extremely personalized, too. Table side payment is enabled, while cool gaming Apps let you kill time while you wait.

Buildings That Used to Be Pizza Huts: Where Are They Now?

It started with some Pittsburgh humor. Pittsburgh-based comedian Tom Musial does a bit about a GPS unit that can give directions in "Pittsburghese." Because in Pittsburgh, no one calls it "Interstate 376," it’s "The Parkway." It’s not "The Liberty Tunnel," it’s "The Liberty Tubes."

Pizza Hut Xbox 360 App Aims at the Lazy, Hungry Gamer

A huge number of gamers all around the world live on a steady diet of digital kills, pizza, and caffeine. The problem for a lot of gamers comes when you’re right in the middle of a heated match, you’re hungry, and you don’t want call and talk to the people at the pizza place to order your favorite pie. This is where Pizza Hut comes in with its new Xbox 360 app that allows you to order your favorite menu items from the convenience of your game console.

    phapp

You don’t even need to get out of your favorite chair to order pizza, just launch the app and you can build your own custom pizza using your Xbox 360 controller, Kinect gestures, or voice commands. The app makes the entire menu from Pizza Hut available – from breadsticks to pasta and everything in between. Users of the app can also link their Xbox Live and PizzaHut.com accounts to save order settings to make future purchases even quicker.

Linking those accounts also allows you to take advantage of local deals that are available when you order. As far as I know, this is the first app that allows players to purchase physical goods from their console. The app is available to download as of today and if you place your first order using the app by May 6, you can get 15% off the entire purchase.

That is a snap now as you are able to place an order for some Pizza Hut pizza (hopefully it will look like pizza from the get go) from within Xbox Live itself, now how about that?

Microsoft and Pizza Hut have come to an agreement that those who are US members of Xbox Live (which happens to stand at 46 million users worldwide and counting) are now able to place an order for their pizza using an app that is made available on the Xbox Live dashboard. It will play nice with a game controller, with the alternative of using Microsoft’s Kinect motion-sensing system, too. You might want to hurry up though, as for the first fortnight, Xbox Live users will be on the receiving end of 15% discount on orders that are placed from the Pizza Hut app.
