Del Popolo Mobile Pizzeria Brings the Pizza Oven to You

Are you tired of getting your pizza delivered or going to pick it up? You should let your pizza come to you. Well, if you have a mobile pizzeria in your neighborhood anyway. Del Popolo is a mobile pizzeria that is housed in a twenty-foot transatlantic shipping container that’s been modified into a kitchen.

You can see its interior from a wall of glass doors as if it were any other shop. Inside there’s an entire pizzeria on wheels, complete with traditional italian-made wood-fired oven. This awesome mobile eatery was created by owner Jon Darsky who worked with four designers and spent 180,000 dollars putting this container on a heavy-duty delivery truck.

The oven can reach temperatures of up to 800 degrees and takes up almost 1/3 of the space inside. The up side is that it only takes about 1 minute to cook each of the pizzas. The Del Popolo pizza truck makes the rounds of the San Francisco Bay Area, and you can check its current status here. Man, I wish I had a pizza oven truck where I live.
