Plants vs Zombies 2: It’s About Time Coming This July

Plants vs Zombies 2: It’s About Time Coming This JulyFolks who love to indulge in mobile games, surely you would have had more than your fair share of Angry Birds and Temple Run in the past, and the game Plants vs Zombies too, would have eaten up a fair amount of your time, too. It has been a while, and the Angry Birds franchise has seen its fair share of expansions, while Temple Run’s sequel has also been quite the hit since it was released earlier this year. Long time fans of Plants vs Zombies have been waiting patiently, and just like the long wait for sunlight to pop out from mushrooms at night, we are pleased to report that Plants vs Zombies 2: It’s About Time (aptly named title, yo!) will be released later this July.

There is no word on just which particular platform will carry this game first, or whether it will be a rolling release across multiple platforms, or will it be a simultaneous release, but a little bit more patience is called for in the meantime. You might want to play Plants vs Zombies and unlock everything all over again while waiting just to warm up those fingers of yours…

'Plants vs Zombies 2 It's About Time' coming this July, finally video

Come on, admit it: you’ve all secretly been longing for more Plants vs. Zombies action, right? Well fans, today’s your lucky day. PopCap‘s just uploaded a YouTube video announcing that the sequel to its wildly successful game — appropriately called Plants vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time — will be launched this July. The company makes fun of itself in the video, which shows frustrated gamers yelling and asking for a sequel to the popular game. It’s unclear which platform the new title will support at launch, but the original Plants vs. Zombies — which is four years old now — first appeared on Mac and PC in 2009 before making its way to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, PS Vita, Chrome, iOS, Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry and even Bada (!). The game’s success was likely one of the reasons EA acquired the company in 2011. Now, if you’ll excuse us, we have to find our Samsung Wave review unit so we can play Plants vs. Zombies on that long forgotten mobile OS. Hit the break for PopCap’s video.

Plants vs. Zombies Pinball table

Yes, we know that the sequel to the highly addictive Plants vs. Zombies title will be coming sometime in spring next year, but for today, we shall concentrate on the Plants vs. Zombies pinball table that is constructed out from authentic Plants vs. Zombies bits and pieces. Zen Studios were handed original game assets such as art, sounds, objects, zombies, flowers, and plants amongst others to play with, where the challenge lay in turning a slow-paced 2D game into a fast-paced, frantic pinball game with 3D interactive characters.

The new Zen Pinball 2 platform and Plants vz. Zombies table does seem to be quite the charming title, and since this is a Cross Buy game (meaning you pay only once, where you can then play it on both the PS3 and PS Vita. At least it is something else to tide you over, at least until Plants vs. Zombies 2 arrives on app marketplaces everywhere. Crazy Dave will definitely be helpful once again, that’s a promise.
