PlayStation 4 multi-user gaming shown through Knack

One of the several games previewed today at the PlayStation 4 event was Knack, here being shown as a cinematic winner of a title whose gameplay is as immersive as its video segments. What we’re seeing here is a game that fully utilizes the processing power of the PlayStation 4 system, bringing massive amounts of graphic pieces together to tell a story that’s not just impressive graphically, but in its ability to blur the lines between storyline and gameplay as well.

This game is just one of many we’re seeing today, with the PlayStation 4 showing off that the system is able to take games and push them into the future with next-level finesse. Shown in the user interface demonstration of the PlayStation 4, Knack has been shown as a fully interactive game that can be seen by users across the web. You’ll be able to stream your game for your friends to see at any time over the web, they being able to take control of your character from their own PS4 if you get in a tough spot.

With connectivity over the next-generation PlayStation Network you’ll be able to work with your friends on your Knack game with great ease. This game appears at first to be a one-player game, but opens a window into the future where even one character can become the avatar of multiple users.

The countdown to Sony’s big event in New York City is officially underway as we’re about eight hours away from learning what the company has to show the press as well as the world through their live stream. We’re of course expecting Sony to officially unveil the PlayStation 4 this evening, but what we didn’t anticipate were additional unveilings of next-generation games as we thought Sony would have its plate full detailing the PlayStation 4.

The word around the ‘net seems to be EA is expected to unveil Battlefield 4 at tonight’s Sony press event. Just yesterday, GameStop’s CEO tweeted a message out through the company’s official Twitter profile saying he saw Battlefield 4 “and all I can say is WOW!” Hopefully that means Battlefield 4 is also in New York City and will make its big entrance during tonight’s event.

Considering a console is only as good as the games that are created for it, we think it would be safe to assume Sony would not only unveil the PlayStation 4 this evening, but also give some teases for its games. Either way, we can sense your excitement for tonight’s Sony event and we’ll be reporting from the scene to deliver all the information you’ve been dying to hear.

PlayStation Cloud Domains Hints At PS4 Game-Streaming Service?

PlayStation Cloud Domains Hints At PS4 Game Streaming Service?

Have you gotten tired of us mentioning Sony’s upcoming PlayStation 4 event in New York City that’s going on tomorrow night? Well – expect to be bummed out again if you are as we have some fresh news to share with you that could hint at one of the announcements we can expect from Sony tomorrow night.

We reported last week the PlayStation 4 could possibly stream PlayStation 3 games through the Internet. Today, we’re getting further proof Sony is planning something cloud based as a number of URLs related to the term “PlayStation Cloud” were registered on February 15th by Gaikai, which was purchased by Sony last July.

What exactly Sony is planning with its PlayStation Cloud service is unknown at this time, but being able to stream PlayStation 3 games, and maybe even PS1 and PS2 titles, would be a neat feature for the PlayStation 4. Considering how powerful the console may be, we’re sure it would be able to handle any service Sony throws at it.

Sony looks back on PlayStation’s past with an eye on its future (video)

If Sony doesn’t announce the PS4 at Wednesday’s blockbuster press conference, then this reminiscipackage will seem oddly out of place. The company has cut together three videos charting the history of the console from its (not so) humble beginnings in 1993 to the present day. If you’d like to wistfully remember the genesis of the console that’s probably still lurking beneath your TV, head on past the break.
