Last year I called Linda’s impressive cross-stitch project the “textile Pokédex.” I was wrong. This cute bundle of thread made by Sprite Stitch member Lord Libidan is the actual textile Pokédex. Linda deserves to own a copy of this. It sure beats getting a cross-stitched diploma.
Lord Libidan says he based his creation on the generation 1 Pokédex and gave it “animé accurate colors.” It’s a shame it doesn’t have animé accurate functions.
Nintendo should consider releasing an actual Pokédex. Even if it’s just a glorified media player that only contained information on Pokémon, I’m pretty sure they’d sell millions.

Pokemon Tretta Lab for 3DS scans your Psyduck, takes the arcade on the road
Posted in: Today's ChiliThose who don’t hang out at Japanese arcades (who doesn’t?) have missed out on Pokemon Tretta, which has players building virtual Pokemon collections through real tokens they win in battle. It’s not always easy to visit the local gaming den, however — so Nintendo, Marvelous AQL and Takara Tomy Arts are releasing Pokemon Tretta Lab to use those creature libraries elsewhere. The add-on for the 3DS and 3DS LL combines a downloadable game with a dual-token scanner that can be used to fight other players, practice against AI or simply study new critters. Pokemon Tretta Lab ships to Japan on August 10th for ¥3,800 ($38), and it may be tempting to newcomers when tokens for Eevee, Lucario and Mewtwo are in the box. Unfortunately, the rest of the world will likely have to watch from afar. While it’s easy for a Pikachu handheld to cross borders, Tretta Lab‘s dependence on a healthy arcade market all but rules out a similar trip.

Are you a fan of Pokemon? Perhaps you’ve been playing since back in the day, but whatever the case is, if you’re after some unique Pokemon art, you’re in luck. It seems that as part of a charitable deed, Peter Le and Amy Kim and with the help of their friends and students at the Animation/Illustration program at San Jose State University, they have commissioned 151 artists to draw the 151 original Pokemon. Each artist was randomly assigned to one of the 151 Pokemon, and they were given artistic freedom to represent the Pokemon character however they chose.
For example some have chosen to just draw the Pokemon out, while others have resorted to creating the Pokemon out of paper, or even clay. The art can be bid on over at the Doodle Bender website with 100% of the profits to be donated to Canines for Disabled Kids. So if you’d like to bid on a unique piece of Pokemon art, head on over to Doodle Bender and start bidding!

Gotta invite ‘em all? Then what better way to do that than by sending out Pokémon card-themed invites?
That’s what Redditor jerrikag did for her son Logan aka Logatchu’s, who’s celebrating his sixth birthday with an awesome (and presumably) Pokémon-themed party.
Why stick with boring generic invites when you can create some super effective ones that’ll get people talking and extremely excited about your party?
Logan’s mom did an awesome job with the invites. No doubt she’ll do better at the party, where pizza and cake will be served. As icing on the cake, there’s even going to be a pinata! I wonder if it’ll be a Pokeball.
Happy birthday, Logan, and we hope you enjoy your party!

If you’re a Pokémon fan, you probably are familiar with the Magikarp – or as is known in many circles, the Magicrap. Despite being arguably the most useless Pokémon, the orange fish is still one of the most popular characters in the series. So what better way to show your allegiance to the splashy Magikarp but to carry around your handheld gaming system inside of one.
Flea Circus Designs‘ interpretation of the Magikarp is definitely a bit more rectangular than we’re used to seeing, but they had to make it that way so it could stand a chance at holding onto a game system. It’s made from fleece and felt, and is big enough to hold onto a Nintendo DS, DS Lite, 3DS or a Sony PSP. It’ll also gobble up most cell phones and small digicams. Magikarp’s mouth is also lined with Velcro to make sure that it doesn’t accidentally spit your gadget out.
Cast your rod and reel in the Magikarp case over on Etsy for $25(USD).
I am quite sure that any Pokemon fan worth his or her salt would definitely have heard of the legendary Pokemon that is known as Mewtwo before, and it seems that Mewtwo has proven to be the main inspiration for the latest Pokemon that was teased which will hail from Pokemon X and Y, where some folks have even cheekily dubbed it to be the “Newtwo”.
Granted, it has been nearly a couple of months ever since Pokemon X and Y’s last Pokemon was shown off to the world, the Eevee-lution Sylveon. Nintendo and Game Freak have decided that now would be the best time to make sure fans remain rabid and maintain their interest, although the Pokemon that you see above certainly has no official name attached to it just yet. It was said that Mewthree was recently revealed on the latest episode of the Japanese television show, Pokemon Smash, where it is touted to come with a fair number of similar traits that have made Mewtwo endearing over to the masses, so Newtwo could very well be the wrong answer, and Mewthree might be the one.

Pokemon X and Y promise a lot of new changes coming to the Pokemon handheld series, but one of these new changes will bring a wave of nostalgia from the classic days of Pokemon. Nintendo and Game Freak have released a trailer and teasers for a new version of Mewtwo, name still pending (though some are dubbing it Newtwo and Mewthree). In the trailer, you see the new Mewtwo unleashing a barrage of various elemental skills onto its enemies.
The new version of Mewtwo was revealed on Pokemon Smash, a Japanese TV show, and is said to share many similar traits with Mewtwo. Unfortunately, the TV show didn’t expand on anything else about the new Pokemon, like how it was created, if it will be more darker than Mewtwo, and how players will be able to catch it. Nonetheless, this new variation of Mewtwo has many players excited and eager to play the games when they come out.
Pokemon X and Y have an anticipated October 2013 release date for the Nintendo 3DS. They completely revamp the Pokemon hand-held series by transforming the Pokemon universe into a 3D world. Of course, with each generation of Pokemon games comes another generation of new Pokemon. The three new starter Pokemon include Froakie (water-type), Chespin (grass-type), and Fennekin (fire-type). There will also be two new legendary pokemon. Xerneas, the blue legendary Pokemon, will represent Pokemon X, and Yveltal, the red legendary Pokemon, will represent Pokemon Y.
The games will launch worldwide at the same time, so that players from all around the globe can play and battle each other from the getgo. This way “Pokemon fans across the globe can discover the secrets of Pokemon games and can collect, battle, and trade with each other immediately,” says Pokemon Company’s CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara. The game is set to release in 6 months, so we can expect even more Pokemon to be teased in the future.
