Free Garden Warfare DLC From PopCap

Free Garden Warfare DLC From PopCapPopCap is certainly on the right track when it comes to their Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare community, having just announced that a free “Garden Variety Pack” DLC is on its way. After all, sharing is caring, and to have PopCap make this announcement might just cause some of us to fire up Plants vs. Zombies and its sequel, and play through the games all over again for nostalgia’s sake. This particular DLC will be made available on March 18, where it will feature a trio of abilities for each class, in addition to an all new 8v8 “Gnome Bomb” mode (that ought to be full of fun and mayhem for sure) and a “funtastic” map.

Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare Release Date Announced

PopCap Games is the developer behind the very popular mobile game franchise Plants vs. Zombies. During E3 this year PopCap and EA announced that a new game would be coming in the franchise aimed at console gamers called Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare.

This game is very different from the others in the PvZ franchise. Garden Warfare is a third-person shooter supporting multiplayer action. The game is based on the Frostbite 3 game engine and will hit the Xbox 360 and Xbox One game consoles on February 18 in North America.

The game will land in Europe on February 20. A PC version of the game will be coming later. The game has three modes and over ten maps for gamers to play. Two of the modes support 12 vs. 12 player versus battles. The other mode is a four-play co-op mode. The game will cost $39.99(USD) on the Xbox One and $29.99 on the Xbox 360 (which is kind of stupid that they’re charging more for the Xbox One version).

That was certainly a fun game to play, especially when you have completed all of the achievements, leaving you with a smug look on your face. Well, it seems that gamers of the original have been clamoring for a sequel for the longest time, and Plants vs Zombies 2 was released by EA on the iOS platform as an exclusive title recently, only to see it achieve a new record – surpassing the 16 million downloads mark, propelling it to the top spot on the App Store across 137 countries throughout the world.

This would also make it the most successful mobile game launch in EA’s history, where the day one downloads nearly doubled EA’s previous mobile record. Here are some more trivia for fans of the new sequel, where more than 11 billion suns were generated, over 2 billion zombie waves happened, with more than 4 billion plants planted, and 25 million hours clocked up by us humans trying to preserve our brains from them zombies. Have you also been bitten by the Plants vs Zombies 2 bug, and if you haven’t, what are you waiting for? Plants vs. Zombies 2 launches worldwide on iOS, offers true free-to-play gaming

Plants vs Zombies 2 reaches iOS, freetoplay gaming intact

If you didn’t get early access to Plants vs. Zombies 2 on iOS, now’s your chance to play — PopCap’s backyard defense game has just launched worldwide on the App Store. The time travel-themed sequel significantly expands on the original with new plants, new zombies, between-round maps and touch-controlled power-ups. We’ve tried the game, and it’s a welcome refinement of a mostly familiar experience. For some, though, the big change in PvZ2 may be its sheer accessibility. This is a genuinely free-to-play title — you can see virtually everything it has to offer without paying a dime. In-app purchases are largely restricted to perks, such as coin packs. The developer doesn’t yet have a schedule for PvZ2 releases on other platforms, but those who have at least one iOS device can engage in herbal warfare at the source link.

‘Plants vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time’ coming this July, finally (video)

'Plants vs Zombies 2 It's About Time' coming this July, finally video

Come on, admit it: you’ve all secretly been longing for more Plants vs. Zombies action, right? Well fans, today’s your lucky day. PopCap‘s just uploaded a YouTube video announcing that the sequel to its wildly successful game — appropriately called Plants vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time — will be launched this July. The company makes fun of itself in the video, which shows frustrated gamers yelling and asking for a sequel to the popular game. It’s unclear which platform the new title will support at launch, but the original Plants vs. Zombies — which is four years old now — first appeared on Mac and PC in 2009 before making its way to PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Nintendo DS, PS Vita, Chrome, iOS, Android, Windows Phone, BlackBerry and even Bada (!). The game’s success was likely one of the reasons EA acquired the company in 2011. Now, if you’ll excuse us, we have to find our Samsung Wave review unit so we can play Plants vs. Zombies on that long forgotten mobile OS. Hit the break for PopCap’s video.
