Twin Peaks Action Figures Are Sadly Not Real

It’s too bad that Twin Peaks didn’t last longer on TV. It had some quirky characters and plenty of dark and bizarre goings-on. Plus, we never even got any action figures. At least these action figure mock-ups from Twin Peaks let us see what we missed out on. All of your favorites are here with perfect matching accessories.

Special Agent Dale Cooper comes with his donuts and coffee mug, while Lucy Moran has a watering can and plant, and Windom Earle comes with several disguises. These come from illustrator Max Dalton who created them in poster form for Spoke Art’s David Lynch-inspired art exhibit. It is too bad they aren’t real products. I would buy the whole set.

The Map of Zombies Cuts up Animated Corpses into Over 350 Types

Jason Thompson – the same artist who made the excellent Dungeons & Dragons Walkthrough Maps – made what he calls The Map of Zombies. Jason drew the 25″ x 36″ poster in the style of an old medical chart. It has over 350 types of zombies, ending in specific media where that particular zombie is mentioned, such as a book, a movie, a game or a TV show.

Pokémon Size Poster: ALL HAIL WAILORD

One of the best things about Pokémon X & Y are the 3D models of the creatures. However the models are not to scale, despite the Pokédex clearly stating the height and weight of most Pokémon. Why? Because the disparity between their sizes is so severe. If they were made to scale, either some Pokémon would be practically invisible or, well, Wailord:

That image is the latest version of deviantART member DOTBstudios’ Pokémon size comparison poster. It contains all known Pokémon so far – including their Mega Evolutions if any – but it still has a number of mistakes. DOTBstudios will release a high resolution version of the image as well as sell a print of the poster as soon as he irons the errors out.

My Little Raptor: Friendship is AAAAAIIIEEEE

deviantART member Brianna Garcia made these Cretacious ponies.  Despite their sharp teeth and large claws, they still look sweet and friendly. Especially when you compare them to the Cthulhu ponies.

Realistic Pokémon: Kanto Rim

A couple of years ago Steven Lefcourt had a go at making realistic Pokémon. He ended up making creepy creatures, but they’re not nearly as scary and Kaiju-like as Yuuki Morita’s versions. The freelance CG artist used 3D animation and modeling programs to portray the final forms of the original starter Pokémon.

It’s hard to believe any of these three would accept orders from a kid, let alone willingly confine themselves in a Pokéball.

Super Mario New York City Subway Map: Underworld 1-1

A couple of years ago we saw a map of New York City done in the style of Super Mario World. Here’s a great complement to that map, a chart of the Big Apple’s subway depicted in the same style by Robert Bacon. What’s up with Staten Island?

Here’s the official map of the subway for comparison:

Watch the video to get a closer look at the map:

Robert also made a Super Mario Bros. 3 version of the map, which is a tad easier on the eyes.

You can order both maps from Bacon’s shop on Ript Apparel for $25 (USD) each. He also has Mario-themed maps of Chicago on there.

Doctor Who’s Story in One Poster: Baywheux Tapestry

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who, artist Bill Mudron drew a timeline – timeandspaceline? – of the Time Lord’s adventures. His artwork starts with the First Doctor up until the upcoming The Day of the Doctor episode, with major events noted in between. In other words, it’s one massive spoiler.

Bill made the timeline in the style of the Bayeux Tapestry – a 230ft. long embroidered cloth that depicts a major historical event in England – hence its name. Bill originally planned to draw the timeline in one continuous strip just like the Bayeux Tapestry, but he eventually decided against it because the resulting print would’ve been hard to frame and display. The final print measures 24″ x 36″. You can check out a high-res image of the print on Bill’s Flickr page.

When you are a rebel fighting Imperials, flying an X-Wing or a snowspeeder is all good, but you need to know how to properly aim your blaster. This war isn’t all about fancy ships and lightsaber battles. There will be a lot of blaster fire and you better know how to shoot. These awesome Star Wars target posters should help.

These designs by Sneaky Studios feature Darth Vader, a Stormtrooper holding Leia hostage, Boba Fett, and a rancor. Judging by the movies, Stormtroopers never practiced much on the range. Use that to your advantage and also use these posters.
