Princess Leia Falls for Indiana Jones

I always get a kick out of mashups of films that I loved as a kid. I really like this new work from artist James Hance. He has taken Princess Leia complete with her giant hair buns and put her in a picture with Indiana Jones.

It is cool to see the wrong character put with his love interest from the Star Wars movies. The art is said to be a work in progress, but it already looks complete to me. In fact, it looks realistic enough to have been some sort of mistake at a movie poster printing factory.

Hance is the same guy who melded Adventure Time with Doctor Who in the past.

Darth Vader and Son & Vader’s Little Princess Figurines: The Children Strike Back

Jeffrey Brown’s Darth Vader and Son and Vader’s Little Princess might be the cutest Star Wars retcon ever. The books feature a caring Anakin looking after Luke and Leia. Gentle Giant Ltd. is going to release a limited edition bundle of the two books, which will include adorable figurines of the Skywalkers.

The Darth Vader and Son sculpture depicts Anakin getting a Rebel Alliance necktie from Luke. It’s not like the Sith would have merch anyway.

Slave Padme Action Figure: Leia’s Mother Dresses Like Her Daughter

Man I hated the prequels, but they had one thing going for them. Padmé Amidala was easy on the eyes – even if we didn’t get to see her in a scantily clad slave outfit like Princess Leia. But thanks to JVcustoms we now know what this would have looked like.

slave padme
That’s right, it looks a lot like Leia’s body with Padme’s head. Because that is how this custom action figure was made.

This is all we really needed in the prequels. More of this please, and less Jar Jar. I have needs and one of them is to see sexy women chained to a giant slug. I don’t need to see some whiny kid slammed into his mother’s womb by midi-f-ing-chlorians. Only to crawl out and whine that he’s a slave, then do all kinds of stupid stuff to become the bad guy. There is no way that wimpy ass whiny little turd became Darth Vader. No way. Ok, I’m gonna stop now and just enjoy this figure. Clearly, I’m still working through some issues.

Star Wars Episode 7 Conceptual Poster Features Luke, Leia, Han Solo

Star Wars Episode 7 Conceptual Poster Features Luke, Leia, Han Solo

There’s been a lot of talk lately about Star Wars: Episode 7 now that we know all of the original Star Wars actors were accidentally confirmed by George Lucas himself. With that bit of news, Star Wars fans have immediately become extremely excited about the next film and just what kind of role each of the previous film’s stars will have in the new film.

Illustrator Adam Schickling created a conceptual Star Wars: Episode 7 movie poster that not only has Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford prominently displayed, with wrinkles and all, but also Lando Calrissian himself Billy Dee Williams. Schickling also threw Chewbacca, C-3PO and R2-D2 in there for good measure. (more…)

Original Star Wars Actors Accidentally Confirmed For Episode 7 By Lucas

Original Star Wars Actors Accidentally Confirmed For Episode 7 By Lucas

We’ve heard Carrie Fisher is returning to play Princess Leia in Star War: Episode 7 with Harrison Ford possibly coming back as Han Solo as well, but it looks as though the man himself, George Lucas, may have confirmed the big three stars of Star Wars Episode IV – VI in a recent interview.

Lucas spoke to Bloomberg Businessweek and was asked if he informed Ford, Fisher and Mark Hamill of LucasFilm’s upcoming deal with Disney. “We had already signed Mark and Carrie and Harrison—or we were pretty much in final stages of negotiation,” said Lucas. “So I called them to say, ‘Look, this is what’s going on.’ ” (more…)

Carrie Fisher Says She Will Be Returning in Star Wars: Episode 7

Carrie Fisher recently conducted an interview with a publication called Palm Beach Illustrated. During that interview, she was asked if she would be returning to Star Wars: Episode 7 as Luke Skywalker’s sister. All Fisher had to say about the question was, “Yes.”

That is some seriously good news for fans of the Star Wars franchise. Previous rumors have already tipped that Harrison Ford has signed on to reprise his role as Han Solo. Disney hasn’t offered details about the plot for the coming film at this point, but rumors continue to claim the movie will focus on the children of Han and Leia.

Fisher did go on to answer a couple of other Leia questions with her usual wit:

What do you think Princess Leia is like today?

“Elderly. She’s in an intergalactic old folks’ home [laughs]. I just think she would be just like she was before, only slower and less inclined to be up for the big battle.”

And still wearing the bagel buns?

The bagel buns and the bikini, because probably she has sundowners syndrome. At sundown, she thinks that she’s 20-something. And she puts it on and gets institutionalized.”

The only character from the original trio that hasn’t been confirmed to be returning is Mark Hamill. I would love to see Luke Skywalker return for the next film in the franchise. I’m willing to bet Fisher won’t be returning to her golden bikini though, having have aged and changed significantly since she wore it in Return of the Jedi.

Carrie Fisher Returning As Princess Leia In Star Wars Episode 7

Carrie Fisher Returning As Princess Leia In Star Wars Episode 7

Last month we heard rumors of Harrison Ford possibly returning to reprise his role as Han Solo in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode 7. The news came from a Latino Review reporter, although there were conflicting reports coming in at the same time. Today, on the other hand, isn’t speculation as Carrie Fisher has confirmed she’ll return as Princess Leia in Star Wars: Episode 7.

During an interview with Palm Beach Illustrated, Fisher was asked if she would be coming back as Princess Leia:

Question: Disney is going to continue the Star Wars saga, producing movies set to hit theaters starting in 2015. Can you confirm whether you’ll reprise the role of Princess Leia?

Fisher: Yes.

Reports of Fisher returning as Princess Leia first circulated this past November when she said she would return to the Star Wars franchise, but it was later confirmed her remarks were tongue-in-cheek and in no way confirmed her return.

If reports of Harrison Ford’s return turn out to be true, we’ll personally be calling Mark Hammill on an hourly basis to make sure he’s aware he’s the last piece of the puzzle missing from the old cast returning to a new Star Wars film.

The Force Is Strong in This Star Wars Wedding Cake

Wedded bliss. Is there anything more beautiful? Yes there is. Wedded bliss with an awesomely geeky Star Wars wedding cake like the one shown here.

star wars cakeThis delicious-looking Star Wars-themed wedding cake is more diorama than cake and it was made by Lisa Seidling of Cake Works. The starfield, ship, Princess Leia bride and Han Solo Groom were made of gumpaste. The cake itself, including the Death Star ball, was red velvet with white chocolate/raspberry cream filling and white chocolate buttercream covered in silver fondant – which happens to be what the actual Death Star was made of.

I love the extra details like the Star Wars style font and the “just married” ribbon trailing behind the Millenium Falcon. Han and Leia are a bit cartoony, but it works. Great cake. I wish could have eaten a piece.

SegaToys upgrade its Homestar R2-D2 with the Homestar R2-D2 EX

Segatoys introduces the HomeStar many “moons” ago, a nice little toy that will project the milky-way and other stars on your ceiling. Back in June 2011, SegaToys announced the Homestar R2-D2, a enhanced version of the regular Homestar planetarium in the shape of RD-D2 and that was capable to project the Death Star along side other regular celestial objects.
Today, SegeToys introduced an enhanced version of the Homestar R2-D2 with the Homestar R2-D2 EX which comes with many …
