Rockstar knows that having a strong back catalog of solid video games which have stood the test of time is one surefire way of making a quick buck, as it is one cow that is worth milking many times over. Just take a look at Nintendo and their library of games and you will know what I mean. As gamers look forward to GTA 5, here we are with information that Rockstar will be making use of their Grand Theft Auto franchise, namely the first two Grand Theft Auto games, where they will release it to the general populace on the following platforms – the PSP, PS Vita and PS3, with the first GTA having picked up a Mature rating, while GTA2 was on the receiving end of a more lenient Teen rating.
Other than that, it seems that nothing definitive has been revealed from anyone at Rockstar concerning these ESRB ratings, as the ESRB themselves could be said to have jumped the gun considering neither game shows up any more. Perhaps Rockstar is waiting for a far better time to make an announcement with the recent GTA V trailer revealed, no?

Capcom’s Monster Hunter was available on the PSP handheld console, which is why many rightfully assumed it would eventually make its way onto the PS Vita as well, or will it? Unfortunately for PS Vita owners, it seems that if you want to enjoy Monster Hunter on your handheld console, you’re out of luck unless you don’t mind settling for Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, which is essentially a PSP port, and while the game itself is by no means bad, we’re sure Vita owners were hoping for something a little more exclusive and perhaps high-def.
This unfortunate news was discovered by the folks at NeoGAF who found the evidence in the Ask Capcom forum where Capcom associate online/community rep Yuri L. Araujo was quoted as saying, “Sorry we’ve got no plans for a PS Vita Monster Hunter at the moment.” Of course this could be interpreted as meaning that perhaps down the line there could be Monster Hunter for the PS Vita, but we guess for now PS Vita will have to turn to the port for their monster hunting needs.

Being able to download demos, arcade titles and downloadable content onto your Xbox 360 from the comfort of your home office is as easy as queuing up each download to your account to then begin downloading the next time you turn on your console. It’s certainly a feature I use on a regular basis, and one that took way too long to be made available on the PlayStation 3, which Sony is announcing today.
Just like with the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 can now queue a download to your console through its PSN web store. Sony offers a better solution than Microsoft does as they make it possible for its PS Plus subscribers to have these downloads initiate automatically during their PlayStation 3′s scheduled automatic update time. Non-PS Plus subscribers will still be able to download software, but just like the Xbox 360, it’ll occur the next time you turn your console on. Today’s feature is also available to PS Vita owners as well. (more…)

Sony’s PlayStation 4 And PS Vita Were Developed Simultaneously, According to Shuhei Yoshida
Posted in: Today's ChiliWhen the Sony PlayStation 4 was announced earlier this year, one of the features that Sony was boasting about at the event would be Remote Play. Basically this allowed Vita owners to play games on the PlayStation 4 on the handheld console, which sounds remarkably similar to the Nintendo Wii U where the secondary screen can be used to play Wii U games if the TV is in use by someone else. In any case this compatibility and integration with the Vita was more or less expected, and according to Sony’s president of Worldwide Studios, Shuhei Yoshida, it seems that both the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita were developed simultaneously, despite both devices being released at different dates.
This was revealed in the latest issue of Edge where Yoshida explained that work on the PS4 began as soon as the PS3 was released. We guess this is normal since companies can’t expect to sit around and wait for a few years before beginning R&D on their next project. “PS Vita was a shorter project compared to PS4 […] but Mark and Worldwide Studios were involved in both projects, and we worked on both projects simultaneously.” If this is the case, we can certainly look forward to seeing tighter integration of the Vita with the PS4, but unfortunately apart from the information provided at the launch, not much else is known about the feature for now, but hopefully additional details will be revealed in time.

PS Vita System Software 2.10 Update
Posted in: Today's ChiliSo, you feel that you cannot get enough of your PS Vita portable gaming console, and would wish that there were some ways that the software or firmware could be improved? Well, good news for folks who feel this way then, as the PS Vita system software update that will bump up the version number to version 2.10 has been announced and released, where it will include a slew of improvements that is touted to make your PS Vita experience a whole lot more enjoyable, including the inclusion of a new folder system which enables you to organize your games and apps.
The ability to create folders should have been there right from the beginning to some folks, where it allows them to manage one’s favorite application icons in a whole lot more convenient manner, where you can have up to 10 icons in individual folders, with a maximum of 100 on the home screen itself. For those who have already updated your respective PS Vita to version 2.10, how do you find it?

A software update is rolling out today that will update your PlayStation Vita to version 2.10. The new update brings a few new features and several enhancements to improve the PlayStation Vita’s user experience. You will now be able to create folders in your Vita that can store up to 10 games/apps, group messaging has been greatly improved, the web browser can now stream video, and some new tweaks have been added to the notifications.
Before, your PlayStation Vita was limited to displaying only 100 apps, no matter how much storage space you have on the device. The new folders option should help resolve that issue. To create a folder, all you need to do is tap and hold your screen to enter “editing mode”. Then you can “create folder” and drag 10 games/apps into that folder. Group messaging has also been modified, allowing you to message as many of your contacts as you want. Video playback has also been implemented into the PS Vita’s web browser. You can now stream videos from YouTube or other media sites, however, some videos may not be supported by the Vita.
Notifications has also been improved. You can now check which game you have loaded into your PlayStation Vita by checking your information bar. Email has also been improved, now allowing you to view HTML messages. There is also a new search function that allows you to search for your emails. There should also be some behind-the-scene improvements with this update that should improve the performance of your device.
While Vita owners in the United States will be receiving their update today, those of you in Europe will have to wait until tomorrow to get it. If you haven’t purchased a PlayStation Vita yet, and have been considering buying one, check out your local retailer to see if they are one of the ones that offer it for the discounted $199 price-tag. Also be sure to check out our PlayStation Vita review to see all that it has to offer.

Little Big Planet Developer Launching New Game ‘Tearaway’ Oct. 22 On PS Vita
Posted in: Today's ChiliMedia Molecule, who is best known for their hugely popular Little Big Planet series, have been working on a new title for the PS Vita called Tearaway. Today, Sony is announcing the game will be made available on the PlayStation Network on October 22.
As you’ll see from a newly published video, Tearaway borrows much of its gameplay mechanics from Little Big Planet, although it isn’t just a side-scrolling platformer. Tearaway features a papery world where you can pick one of two messengers, iota or atoi, to help make a special delivery in the world. As you progress through the game, you’ll be given god-like powers to better help your messengers along their adventure. Touch-based gameplay seems to be of importance in Tearaway as many of the puzzles you’ll come across will ask the player to complete it by using the rear-touch panel as well as the Vita’s touch-screen.
Tearaway seems to be a pretty neat little PS Vita game and if it’s made by Media Molecule, then you can be sure it’ll be gaining a lot of attention when we get closer to its October release.

As a regular anime watcher, you don’t know how upsetting it is to know shows that I thoroughly enjoyed have video games that are either based on the show or continue its story only available in Japan. I could import them, but seeing how I can’t read a lick of Japanese, it could be rather difficult to do so. That’s why when I heard not only would the U.S. be getting a game based on a popular anime series, but also one of my favorites as well, then I knew I had to write about it.
NIS America published the first trailer for Black Rock Shooter: The Game over the weekend which will be an RPG based on the Black Rock Shooter franchise which stars a mysterious girl with a glowing blue eye who needs to save the world. The game was originally released in Japan back in August 2011, which probably explains why it’ll be available for the PSP when it’s released in the U.S. on April 24. For you PS Vita owners, the game will also be made available on the PlayStation Network for your downloading needs.
