Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection Brings Six Games To The PS3 This June

Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection Brings Six Games To The PS3 This June

With Konami announcing Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain last month, the company has decided the new hero of its upcoming game will be Big Boss, a.k.a Naked Snake, and not Solid Snake. But Solid Snake has had quite the legacy, which is why Konami is announcing they’re bundling nearly the entire collection of Metal Gear Solid games in one easily digestible collection.

The Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection will be released on the PlayStation 3 this June and will feature Metal Gear Solid, the HD Collection versions of Metal Gear Solid 2 &3, the “Trophy Edition” of Metal Gear Solid 4, Peace Walker and VR Missions. The collection will also include two Ashley Wood digital graphic novels. There’s no word on an exact release date or pricing for this collection of six games in one package, but we do know it will be released in both North America and South America. Hopefully all of this makes more sense to you than the trailer for Metal Gear Solid 5 did as I certainly still have nightmares as to what exactly I saw in its debut trailer.

Rayman Legends Delay Resulted In 30 New Levels, New Boss Battles

Rayman Legends Delay Resulted In 30 New Levels, New Boss Battles

Rayman Legends’ delay may have brought the game to additional platforms, but ultimately, fans of Rayman Origins looking for more Rayman goodness are left without their fix, that is, until Ubisoft releases its second demo of the game on the Wii U later this month. But its seven-month delay is being used in the best way possible: by adding more content.

Rayman Legeds’ senior game manager Michael Micholic revealed to Official Nintendo Magazine UK the delay could certainly be seen as a blessing. “Trust me, the things we are adding aren’t minor,” he says. “We’re not talking about adding some polish here and there, but 30 new levels and several new bosses.” (more…)

Free-To-Play Ridge Racer Driftopia Headed To PS3, PC In 2013

Namco Bandai’s Ridge Racer series has always been considered a more arcade-y racing game as its gameplay mechanics, especially when drifting, can be considered to be extremely exaggerated. The next game in the series will take an equally exaggerated step in another direction, but it isn’t to make its gameplay crazier, instead, it’s a step in the free-to-play direction.

Ridge Racer Driftopia will be the first Ridge Racer title that will be completely free-to-play as you can purchase cars, XP packs and repair kits to help enhance the experience. Just how much of the game will be free-to-play is unknown at this time, but we hope Namco Bandai will at least be able to deliver a Ridge Racer game for fans of the series without nickel-and-diming its customers by providing more DLC options than anything else, which it did with its Ridge Racer for Vita. Dishonored DLC Knife of Dunwall flips the tables: now you’ve done it

In the trailer you’re about to see for the next bit of storyline for the Dishonored video game legacy, you’ll find yourself not in the shoes of the protagonist. Instead you’ll be the assassin who actually did murder the Empress – and though you feel the guilt of doing so weighing on your mind, you’ve still got a job to do. Of course you’re still “Dishonored”, so to speak, but you’re under a cloak – and you’ve got one massive amount of shadowy skills to bash your way forth with.

daud

While the original Dishonored story followed a man by the name of Corvo Attano, “the last bodyguard to the Empress”, this time you’re playing one of the assassins that inadvertently ruined Attano’s life. While it’s not said explicitly in the trailer you’re about to see, we can’t help but wonder if you and Attano will be meeting by the time this whole saga is over. Your name this time is Daud, and for six months you’ve had the weight of the world on your shoulders.

You’ll be BAMFing your way from one wall to another, knifing your enemies in the back here and there, and electrifying all those who would oppose you without end. This DLC for Dishonored will have you working with tricks you’ve seen before as well as a whole bunch of new bits and pieces only a real hardcore OG assassin would know.

dishonored

This downloadable addition to your Dishonored experience will require that you already own and have installed the game (or have the disk in your drive if you’re on a console). You’ll be downloading Dishonored: The Knife of Dunwall starting on April 16th for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC all at once. Make with the cash drop!

One of this console generation’s most beloved video game franchise has to be the Batman: Arkham series as both Batman: Arkham Asylum and City were highly-praised games. The next entry into the Batman: Arkham series has just been announced and is called Batman: Arkham Origins.

Batman: Arkham Origins is expected to be released on October 25, 2013 for PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Wii U and will be a prequel of the previously released Arkham titles. Epix video streaming lands on PS3

Sony PS3 owners can get access to a new streaming movie application on the game console as of today. The streaming movie application is Epix and it will be coming to the PlayStation Vita as well in the coming weeks. Epix is more like HBO Go and other premium cable network streaming programs than Netflix.

epixps3

To be able to use the Epix application on your PS3, consumers have to be an authenticated subscriber to a participating cable or satellite company. However, the streaming application is offering a two week free trial to get people try the app and the network now and weekly free preview movie titles. That means if you download the app, even if you don’t have a cable subscription to Epix, you will be able to watch some content.

Cable subscribers who have access to the network and authenticate will be able watch over 3000 movies including some new releases. Those new releases include some very popular films such as The Avengers, Skyfall, The Hunger Games, Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol, and more. The streaming application will also offer access to exclusive and original content from the television network.

The original content that will be offered via the app includes the network’s Original Concert events, documentaries, comedy specials, and championship boxing events. Epix says that in the future will also be offering a free movie or special event each week to PlayStation Plus members who download the app. Cable subscribers who do have the network as part of their subscription package can use the application at no additional cost.

EPIX Launches On PS3, PS Plus Subscribers Get A Free Movie Every Week

EPIX Launches On PS3, PS Plus Subscribers Get A Free Movie Every Week

At the beginning of 2013, Sony announced it would be welcoming EPIX into its stable of video streaming applications for both its PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. It took nearly three months since their original announcement, but EPIX is finally available on the PlayStation 3 starting today.

EPIX, just like other premium cable channels, will require you to be a subscriber of its service in order for you to get everything it has to offer. PSN users are able to check out EPIX for free through a 14-day trial, although EPIX will be offering a new movie for free to PlayStation Plus subscribers, regardless if they’re a subscriber to their video service or not. If you’ve been on the fence whether to be a PS Plus member or not, now would be a pretty good time to sign up for the service. (more…)

Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories Headed To PSN Next Week

Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories Headed To PSN Next Week

Rockstar Games has been steadily re-releasing its Grand Theft Auto games on the PlayStation Network as we’ve seen releases for Grand Theft Auto 3 , Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The only other Grand Theft Auto games that have yet to be released onto the PSN are its Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories, and those are the two exact games that are being planned for release next week.

Both Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories will be PlayStation 2 Classics, meaning they won’t have any sort of enhancements to the games graphics or gameplay. Both games will be exact replications of the previously released games, except they’ll be available as a digital download on your PlayStation 3, which means you can finally trade in your PlayStation 2 copies that we know you’ve played to death from the moment they were released.

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City and Vice City will be available for $9.99 next week, which means it’ll most likely be available on Tuesday when PlayStation updates its PlayStation Store.
