Star Trek The Original Series Purse Comes Complete with Tribbles

What do you get the geek girl who has everything? Get her a Star Trek purse. This one even comes with little Tribbles attached. I don’t think a Tribble infestation should be a problem, unless your purse is full of quadrotriticale. If this is what you carry around with you, you have bigger problems than Tribbles.

This purse has Star Trek images all over it, a removable Tribble key fob and a custom Delta charm. It measures 12-inches long x 9-inches tall x 5 1/4-inches wide. It is also printed all over with the Trek logo, phasers, Spock, Uhura, Bones, and more.

It will cost you $49.99(USD) from Entertainment Earth, and is part of a larger series of Star Trek merch coming from A Crowded Coop. You can pre-order now and it will ship in August. This purse makes a nice gift for female Trek mate.

iBag Seals Shut, Sends Alert When You’re on the Brink of Overspending

If you’re in danger of overspending every time you reach for your wallet, then the iBag might just be the thing you need. It’s an interactive wallet of sorts that seals itself shut in order to prevent its owner from spending money on non-essential stuff.

Smart Purse 620x414magnify

The iBag is dubbed as a “smart purse” that comes built with an Arduino processor and a real-time clock. The clock comes into factor as the bag uses that as the basis for sealing shut: at times when the shopper has been deemed to overspend, the bag can no longer be opened.

Finder.com.au’s iBag prototype has been designed to physically deter shoppers from accessing their wallets. The purse is also equipped with a GPS chip and LED lights that flash when a shopper gets too close to his or her favourite shops, or, as the company puts it: ‘when you’re entering a danger spending zone.’

RFID modules on the bag detect whenever the wallet leaves the purse, and a GSM module alerts someone about the shopper’s overspending habits (or tendency) as it happens.

You can find more information about the iBag here.

Everpurse Charges Your Phone When You’re out and About

How many times have you found your phone running low on battery when you need it the most? If you think that it has already been one too many times, then it’s time you got a portable battery pack, or maybe an Everpurse.

EverPursemagnify

The Everpurse is basically a power bank of sorts. The big (and obvious) difference is it comes in the form of a purse. It has a charging pocket inside where you’re supposed to put your phone. There’s a dock connector at the bottom that connects directly to your phone, so you won’t have to deal with any cords or wires anymore.

Charging the Everpurse itself is convenient, too. It charges by induction, so all you have to do is put it on its charging mat and leave it while it powers up.

The Everpurse comes in iPhone 5/5s/5c, iPhone 4/4S, and Samsung Galaxy S3/S4 variants, and is available online with prices ranging from $189 to $329 (USD) depending on the fabric you choose.

Mighty Purse merges both fashion and technology

mighty-purseThere is nothing quite like convergence technology falling into place together, as it brings together the conventional with the future. Case in point, the £84.99 Mighty Purse that would arrive in three shades to suit your fashion taste, Almond Brown, Black Shimmer and Gold Shimmer. The Mighty Purse has been described to be the “ultimate fusion of fashion and technology”, where it would be able to juice up your ever power hungry smartphone on the move without looking as though it was out of place, and will be compatible with all smartphones which hook up via micro USB as well as iPhones.

After all, most of us tend to carry smartphones with us these days, and as we all jolly well know, these smartphones might be big on features. Unfortunately, when it comes to their battery life, smartphones tend to disappoint as they are not exactly the longest lasting devices in the market. Having a portable charger could prove to be rather bulky, so why not merge it with something that you bring with you everywhere you go instead? That would make life a whole lot easier, don’t you think so? The integrated high-capacity battery is said to hold enough juice to recharge your smartphone by up to 2 times, while there is an internal 4-LED indicator that tells you just how much more juice it has left.

Cleaver Clutch Scares Muggers Away Before they Can Steal Your Purse

It’s never a good idea for women to be walking around at night by themselves, but if you do find yourself in that situation, this is definitely the purse you’ll want to be carrying.

The Killin It Cleaver Clutch by Kreepsville 666 is sure to make criminals think twice before they try to mess with you and grab your handbag. It’s shaped just like a bloody cleaver, but still has a little space inside to hold a few of your personal possessions, like money, credit cards, lipstick or your switchblade.

While it’s not quite as much of a deterrent as an actual bloody cleaver, you don’t have to worry about cutting yourself on this one. You can grab the Killin It Cleaver Clutch over at Karmaloop’s Miss KL department for $32(USD).

Clucktch Chicken Handbag Can Hold Your Golden Eggs and More

It’s a clucktch, it’s a henbag, no wait – it’s the Original Chicken Handbag!

It won’t squawk  but it can definitely carry most of your on-the-go essentials. I had no idea chickens were in style these days, but then again, you never can tell what’s going to catch on or not in the cuckoo world of fashion.

Original Chicken Handbag

The hen featured on the handbag looks particularly happy, don’t you think?

The bag is made from durable rubber, while the handles are tough nylon. It’s also got a nylon base and lining. It looks more like a gag gift to me, but then again, if you can make it work with your outfit, then why not?

The Original Chicken Handbag is available on Firebox for £24.99 (~$38 USD).

LEGO Purses: Carry Around a Bag of Bricks

We’ve seen some purses that looked like giant LEGO bricks before, but these are the first purses I’ve come across that are actually made from LEGO bricks.

lego purse 1

These clutches have been made by sewing the bricks together and then lining the whole thing with satin. Its creator, Agnieszka Biernacka says it’s a very time-consuming process, but the end result is that the bricks are flexible but can’t fall apart.

I like how even the closure uses a LEGO brick which snaps in place to keep the contents of your purse secure. They’re available from agabag, with prices starting at $180(USD). They come in a variety of colors, and are also available in larger sizes and in custom designs like the Union Jack and U.S. flags shown below:

Finger Trap Handbags: You’ll Be Stuck with This Purchase

Chinese finger traps are probably the bane of many children’s (and android’s) existences. Of course, it’s not much of a scare or prank once you figure out how to get your fingers out of the trap, but the trauma (“I’m going to be stuck like this forever!”) remains.

Picking up on how finger traps work is designer James Piatt, who managed to work its mechanism into a series of ladies’ handbags.

chinese finger trap bags The result? His Finger Trap line of handbags, which requires at least one trapped finger to ‘hold’ the bag. The full-sized version is best carried with three fingers trapped in the handles (or shall I say, finger-dles?) It comes with a shoulder strap, in case you’d prefer to have full use of your bag finger while you’re carrying it.

This here is the mini version of the Finger Trap bag:

It’s definitely an unusual design inspired by an equally unusual puzzle. They don’t come cheap, either. The full-sized Finger Trap bag costs $725(USD), while the mini one retails for $125.

Luxford St’s LEGO Block Bag: Not Official, Still Officially Awesome

I have to say that even though I’m no longer a kid, I still love LEGO bricks. They are great for building pretty much anything you get your mind set on, and you don’t always need the fancy kits to make great stuff. This LEGO bag isn’t official LEGO merch, but that doesn’t make it any less awesome.

luxford st lego brick bag

The LEGO Block Bag is supposed to be scale replica of a yellow LEGO brick, made from 100% cotton denim, with an unbleached creamy yarn running through it. There are little flecks of brown and cream, giving the denim a colorful variation throughout its surface. The bag is big enough to carry around a couple of gadgets and books – or a few hundred LEGO blocks.

Sadly, this particular bag sold about two weeks ago, but there are other LEGO-inspired items available from Karen Booker’s Luxford St. Etsy shop.

Fire Extinguisher Bag is Smokin’ Hot

While firefighting gear isn’t exactly the most stylish and comfortable stuff to wear, I think we can make an exception for this cool bag, made up to look like a fire extinguisher.

fire extinguisher bag

It’s made by the artisans at Russia’s KruKru Studio, using 100% wool felt. The 21″+ long red canister has ample capacity for your small personal accessories, wallet, keys, gadgets, etc. – and you can be pretty confident that they’ll never catch on fire if you’re transporting them inside of an extinguisher. The bag has a nice long strap, and can be worn either like a messenger bag, or carried as a large purse.

This unique and whimsical piece can be found over on Etsy for $150(USD), where pyromaniacs can also find a matching bag that looks like a gas can.
