Ramos Of China Rolls Out Intel Powered Android Tablets

Ramos Of China Rolls Out Intel Powered Android TabletsChinese device manufacturer Ramos has just announced that they will be lifting up the curtain on a new range of Android-powered tablets that will run on Intel’s line of processors. This would definitely mark a first for the company, and needless to say, the naming convention that Ramos has decided to take with the new Intel-powered tablets is way too obvious, calling them the new Ramos i-series. Underneath the hood of these tablets, one would be able to find Intel Clover Trail+ processors, and there is word going around that these should start to launch in China sometime this month for approximately $195 and above.

The i-series from Ramos would comprise of a quartet of tablets, and these would include the Ramos i8, i9, i10, and i12, where the number at the end gives the game away concerning the size of the tablet itself, which means we will be treated to an 8″, 9″, 10″ and 11.6″ tablet display, respectively. Needless to say, the most affordable tablet of the lot would be the Ramos i8 where it will be accompanied by 1GB RAM and a 1280 x 800 pixel display, while the rest of the i-series tablets sport 2GB RAM and a Full HD display. Regardless, all four of them will run on Intel’s 2GHz Atom Z2580 processor.

Ramos K1 Tablet Looks Like The HTC One

Ramos K1 Tablet Looks Like The HTC One I know that the HTC One is far from being a tablet, but rather, it happens to be a flagship smartphone that has picked up its fair share of bouquets in the past months since it was released. Still, it has proven itself to be quite an inspiration to other device manufacturers. Case in point – the Ramos K1 that is all set for a China release. While it was supposedly meant to roll out in the world’s most populous country earlier this month, somehow it was delayed without any prior notice, so we are still playing the waiting game here. From what we know and have seen, it looks like a clone of the HTC One from certain angles, just that this is a tablet version,

The Ramos K1 will arrive with a 7.9” display which would place it on par with the iPad mini where its screen size is concerned, accompanied by a set of stereo speakers that are located on the front of the device, albeit it would miss the Beats Audio feature, of course. Apart from that, you will also find cameras in front as well as at the back, with a massive 5,500mAh battery powering it. Do you think that the Ramos K1 will do well domestically?

RAmos W42 tablet boasts quadcore Exynos chip, sells for around $200

It’s been a long, long while since we last heard about RAmos ’round here, but that doesn’t mean the Chinese company isn’t trying to remain relevant in the electronics game. As such, we’re more than happy to tell you about the outfit’s newest Android slate, the 9.4-inch RAmos W42, which is powered by a wallop of Ice Cream Sandwich, Mali-400 GPU and a Samsung-made quad-core processor — more specifically, it’s the Exynos 4412. Other tablet specs include a not-too-shabby 1,280 x 800 IPS display, 1GB RAM, 16GB of built-in storage (expandable by way of microSD) and the now-accustomed front and rear cameras. The W42 appears to be up for grabs at e-tailers like the one linked below for about 200 bucks — now, with some great options around that same price, only time will tell whether or not folks are tempted by this very one.

iPad estimated to be cornering nearly 73% of Chinese tablet market

iPad estimated cornering nearly 73% of Chinese tablet market

We’re used to seeing tablet market share illustrated on the world stage. China, however, has usually been untouched. Analysys International has taken a crack at decoding the market and has bucked a few expectations in the process: according to its estimates, the iPad’s lead is even larger in China than it is worldwide. About 72.7 percent of all tablets sold in the country during the second quarter were Apple-flavored, while homegrown hero Lenovo was a distant second at 8.4 percent. Everyone else had to contend with less than four percent and reflected the more diverse Chinese technology sphere — relative heavyweights like Acer, ASUS and Samsung had to hob-nob with brands that have little recognition elsewhere, such as Eben and Teclast.

The researchers credit Apple’s lead, a 7.8-point gain, to a combination of the new iPad and a price-cut iPad 2. We’d add that Analysys’ figures might not tell the whole story, though: China is well-known for its thriving shanzhai market, where legions of KIRFs and very small (usually Android-based) brands likely slip under an analyst group’s radar. That said, it’s still an illustration of how Apple’s influence in tablets is a distinct reversal of its much smaller smartphone share, even in a nation that’s a hotbed of Android activity.
