Rayman Legends Will Arrive On Xbox One And PS4 As Well

Rayman Legends Will Arrive On Xbox One And PS4 As WellCertain games are exclusives for select consoles, and will remain that way for a long, long time to come. Well, there are pros and cons to that particular situation, and with Rayman Legends, what used to be an exclusive title for the Nintendo Wii U is no longer the case, as come February 2014, it will also be making its way to both the Xbox One and Sony PS4. After all, why keep a good thing to yourself, right? So why not make sure that everyone too, will be able to get a share of the fun. Rayman Legends has been confirmed by the folks over at Ubisoft that both of the next generation versions will be arriving in North America some time in February 2014 – or February 24th, to be exact.

For those of you who own a computer, there is a PC-based demo that is readily available for you to give it a go. The next generation console versions will ultimately come with additional exclusives as well as benefits compared to the Wii U version. For instance, you will find special Splinter Cell, Far Cry 3, and Assassin’s Creed outfits, while the Xbox One version will see Splinter Ray, Ray Vaas, and Globox Vaas, with Assassin Ray replacing those on the PS4.

Rayman Legends Launch Trailer Shows Off New Environments, Accolades

Rayman Legends is set to be released on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, PC and PS Vita on September 3, which is officially one week from today. It’s been an exceptionally long wait for Wii U owners considering the game was originally expected to be released in February, but as a result, 30 new levels and additional boss battles were added. Since we’re so close to the launch of Rayman Legends, Ubisoft put together a launch trailer which highlights a number of the game’s environments as well as accolades the game has already received from notable publications.

If you have yet to go out and pre-order Rayman Legends, hopefully its launch trailer will help entice you to pick up the game on your platform of choice. I’ve been playing it for the past couple of days and I can tell you it’s a game I know you won’t regret playing if you’re a fan of side-scrolling platformers. There are tons of levels to play through, high scores to achieve, and content to unlock. The challenges will also keep you busy for quite some time as there are daily, weekly and monthly challenges where you can compete against your friends or others around the world to achieve the very best score possible.

Rayman Legends Delay Resulted In 30 New Levels, New Boss Battles

Rayman Legends Delay Resulted In 30 New Levels, New Boss Battles

Rayman Legends’ delay may have brought the game to additional platforms, but ultimately, fans of Rayman Origins looking for more Rayman goodness are left without their fix, that is, until Ubisoft releases its second demo of the game on the Wii U later this month. But its seven-month delay is being used in the best way possible: by adding more content.

Rayman Legeds’ senior game manager Michael Micholic revealed to Official Nintendo Magazine UK the delay could certainly be seen as a blessing. “Trust me, the things we are adding aren’t minor,” he says. “We’re not talking about adding some polish here and there, but 30 new levels and several new bosses.” (more…)

Rayman Legends Wii U Demo Coming In Late April With Four Levels

Rayman Legends Wii U Demo Coming In Late April With Four Levels

Ubisoft announced in February its once Wii U exclusive Rayman Legends was not only receiving a lengthy delay from it’s original release date of February 26 to sometime in September, but that it was also no longer going to be exclusive, instead also seeing a release on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. To make up for this upsetting news to Wii U owners, Ubisoft announced it would be making a completely exclusive Rayman Legends challenge mode in April completely for free. Today, Ubisoft is announcing some more details as to what it’ll include.

The upcoming second demo for Rayman Legends will include four levels, with one of them being completely exclusive to the Wii U called “Murfy’s Dungeon.” The demo will feature the game’s newly introduced online challenge mode which will continually update itself with new daily and weekly challenges, with each challenge including its own set of leaderboards. The new demo is said to be coming in “late-April,” which we hope doesn’t mean April 30th as we definitely need our Rayman fix sooner rather than later.

Rayman Legends Online Challenge Mode Hitting Wii U This April For Free

When you consider how much of a double-edged sword Ubisoft’s recent Rayman Legends announcement was, ultimately fans of the side-scrolling action title are left to suffer as there won’t be any version of the game released until September.

The delay not only affected fans, which we’re sure many of you took to your social network of choice to vent your frustrations, but it also affected the developers behind Rayman Legends. Because of the outpouring of support from its fans, Ubisoft has decided to provide some more Rayman goodness this coming April in the form of an online challenge mode. (more…)

    Rayman Legends Releasing On Xbox 360, PS3 & Wii U September 2013

    Rayman Legends Releasing On Xbox 360, PS3 & Wii U September 2013

One of Nintendo’s biggest Wii U exclusives this year, Rayman Legends, has just been announced by Ubisoft to no longer be exclusive to the console as releases on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will be expected later this year.

If that wasn’t enough of a big slap in Nintendo’s face, Ubisoft is also announcing the game will be delayed from its original Wii U-exclusive launch date of February 26 to release on all three platforms in September 2013. After spending several hours conducting our own very elaborate and intense research, that equates to a seven month delay. This leads us to wonder why exactly did Ubisoft wait three weeks before Rayman Legends was expected on the Wii U to announce this monumental change.

Wii U fans must be feeling duped at this point as there are no releases expected for the month of February now that Rayman Legends is out of the picture. Meanwhile, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 owners are probably excited to hear the sequel to one of the best side-scrolling adventures will be hitting their platform of choice this fall.
