Razer Blade, world’s thinnest gaming laptop, has highest resolution 14” to boot

razer-bladeWhen it comes to gaming peripherals and in more recent times, gaming machines, the name Razer would certainly be worth looking into. After all, the company has proved its mettle in the past concerning the different kinds of mice and keyboards that have been churned out for gamers, and this time around, their Razer Blade gaming laptop has just received a brand new improvement instantly elevating it to elite company as it boasts of the highest resolution 14-inch display that is available in a laptop.

Just how high of a resolution are we talking about here? We are looking at a stunning 3200 x 1800 pixels touchscreen display that will boast of a record 5.76 megapixels, making it capable of sharply exhibiting even the finest details and text with 262 pixels per inch. Thanks to state-of-the-art IGZO/IPS (Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide/In-Plane Switching) display panel technology that offers unmatched color and image quality, one would be able to enjoy a 250 percent increase in contrast ratio over its predecessor, where there is also high brightness LED backlighting that has been specially optimized for outdoor use, wide viewing angles, and dramatically improved video propagation and response.

Apart from that, the Razer Blade’s display will also minimize color shift while maximizing uniformity in order to make gaming a whole lot more beautiful than ever before possible. Yeah, just when you thought that things could not get any better, the Razer Blade will also come with a 10-point capacitive multi-touch screen which will work seamlessly thanks to the new touch interface in Windows 8.

It measures 0.7” thin, and despite that, it is still capable of packing in far more power-per-cubic-inch than any other laptop in the world. It will run on a 4th gen Intel Core i7 processor and relies on solid-state storage technology that will deliver boot speeds up to four-times faster compared to a traditional notebook hard drive, all arriving in a rugged all-aluminum chassis. This is definitely a beast of a machine, that’s for sure. It will retail for $2,199 onwards this April.

Razer Blade Gets Limited Edition Koenigsegg Model

razer-blade-koeningseggRazer, one of the foremost names when it comes to gaming peripherals as well as in recent times, gaming machines, has just teamed up with Swedish supercar manufacturer Koenigsegg in order to roll out a bunch of Koenigsegg limited edition Razer Blade laptops. The thing about these limited edition laptops is, you are unable to purchase it from any walk-in retail store even if you happen to have more than enough money to spare. Both companies that have come together decided on this plan to inaugurate the relationship by introducing a limited edition of custom not-for-sale Blade laptops, where only a lucky few Koenigsegg owners and Razer fans will be able to have the privilege of using.

I suppose that the main changes introduced in this limited edition Razer Blade gaming laptop would be cosmetic in nature, as this lean and mean gaming machine will continue to retain its form factor (an ultra thin chassis, mind you) in addition to power underneath the hood. The chassis itself is said to be CNC machined and appointed with unmistakable Koenigsegg cachet.

While it would be rather strange for a gaming laptop to be introduced at a motor show, this is exactly what is going to happen later next month. The Koenigsegg Razer Blade is tipped to be unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show in March 2014, where it will be on parade to the masses there, and only a selected few will be able to drive virtual Agera R´s in the best setting possible.

Just how will this collaboration pan out in the future? Only time will tell, but I have a feeling deep down inside that this will not be the last device that both of them will work together on, so let us keep our fingers crossed that we will see more exciting projects being worked upon in due time.

Razer Blade Laptops Come In Limited Edition Koenigsegg Model

Razer Blade Laptops Come In Limited Edition Koenigsegg ModelHave you checked out the Razer Blade when it was first announced in May last year? We have done our bit of homework with the Razer Blade Pro which you can read the review here, but the topic on hand right now will be totally different – it would be a limited edition Koenigsegg Razer Blade gaming laptop that cannot be purchased over the counter, which just goes to show how rare and special this particular device is. This series of not-for-sale Koenigsegg limited edition Razer Blade laptops is an alliance between the two brands’ obsession (some say) with engineering perfection.

Razer Blade 2013: Now This Is How You Make a Damn Windows Laptop

Razer Blade 2013: Now This Is How You Make a Damn Windows Laptop

Everyone’s first impression of the 14-inch Razer Blade, even more than its 17-inch older brother, is Ha, they made a MacBook. But then, Oh—wait. They made a MacBook. And actually, it’s even better than that.

14-inch Razer Blade gaming laptop review: smaller, faster, lighter

14inch Razer Blade gaming laptop review smaller, faster, lighter

Most companies refresh their products on an annual basis, carefully timing development and release schedules to match consumer demand, product obsolescence and component upgrades. It’s the norm, an expected pattern that most PC, smartphone and tablet manufacturers follow. Razer, however, completely ignores this cycle, as exemplified by its Blade line of gaming laptops — already on its third generation in less than two years. This would be less impressive if the firm wasn’t a relative newcomer to the game; before it announced the Blade, Razer was known primarily for creating keyboards, gaming mice and console controllers. A fully fledged gaming PC was a jarring departure for the humble peripheral maker.

Even so, here we are: reviewing the third-generation Razer Blade gaming laptop. This, too, is a departure from what we’ve grown to expect from the company — a smaller, thinner device bereft of the previous model’s signature Switchblade interface. For some PC manufacturers, a 14-inch machine might be just another SKU in the catalog. But for Razer, it’s almost a mark of progress: not only is the Blade popular enough to necessitate successive generations, but also multiple form factors. It’s also the company’s lowest-priced laptop yet, not to mention its first to include Intel’s new fourth-generation CPU — but at $1,800 for the base model, it still isn’t cheap. Read on to see if the new Blade has enough charm to be worth its lofty price tag.

Razer Blade is thinnest gaming notebook in the world

Whenever someone throws out a superlative word, you cannot help but wonder just how the heck did they arrive at such a conclusion. Was the label warranted just because of some in-house tests, or has it been independently verified? That is the big question that we have concerning the Razer Blade, but since Razer has been pretty much a reliable company for the longest time in the world of gaming, it goes without saying that to see Razer slap on the label of “The World’s Thinnest Gaming Notebook” on the Razer Blade is a trustworthy saying. In fact, the Razer Blade comes across as thinner than a dime, sporting a 14” HD+ display, running on a quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, alongside NVIDIA GTX 765M as the graphics card of choice.

Just how thin is the Razer Blade? If you have a dime in your pocket, you get an idea on how amazingly thin it has become, where it measures in at a mere 0.66” thin – making it thinner than your regular smartphone for most of the case, unless you settle for one of those models from Huawei or ZTE that are obsessed with the thickness (or rather, the lack of it) of your smartphone. With that kind of dimensions, the Razer Blade is hands down the winner when it comes to packing in more power-per-cubic-inch compared to any other laptop in the world.

Underneath the hood, you will find that the Razer Blade packs in a future 4th generation Intel Core i7 processor, the most recent NVIDIA GeForce GTX 765M GPU that ensures the kind of graphics which pop out from your machine is top notch and minimizes dropped frames, while taking advantage of today’s modern solid-state storage technology where it boasts of boot speeds of up to four-times faster compared to the traditional 5400-RPM notebook hard drive. Of course, since this is a gaming notebook, it is imperative that the display itself ought to be worth its salt considering the amount of time you are going to spend looking at it, hence the Razer Blade boasts of a stunning 14” LED-backlit HD+ display, with a custom-designed trackpad and backlit gaming grade keyboard to get you going right out of the box, all crammed into a rigid all-aluminum chassis. 8GB RAM is accompanied by a choice of either 128GB, 256GB or 512GB SSD. Pricing for the Razer Blade starts from $1,799 onwards as it is made available for pre-order from June 3.

Star Wars Razer Blade gaming laptop makes a splash, is truly unique

These days, carrying a gaming laptop around is not good enough, there is also the status that one wants to show off to the rest of the world. Even with copious amounts of money, you will be unable to pick up the Star Wars Razer Blade gaming laptop which is said to be worth more than a whopping $15,000, simply because this particular gaming laptop is literally one-of-a-kind, being made available to the winner in a sweepstakes that will see the lucky person walk away with this custom-designed Star Wars: The Old Republic Razer Blade gaming laptop. Of course, I suppose one of the more foolhardy millionaires who desperately wants one without leaving fate to chance might just attempt to pry the Star Wars Razer Blade gaming laptop from the sweepstakes winner by throwing a wad of cash in his or her direction, but that’s another story for a different day.

Robert ‘RazerGuy’ Krakoff, president of Razer USA, said, “Star Wars provides the benchmark by which all entertainment media is measured, and the Razer Blade is the standard for true portability, power and innovation in PC gaming. The opportunity to work with LucasArts and BioWare on this fun project is a testament to our common love of great entertainment and ensuring the best possible experience for fans.”

The Razer Blade maintains its insanely thin 0.88” profile despite carrying a 17.3” display that will certainly capture the attention of your eyes whenever you game with it. When merged with an ultra-slim power supply, the entire shebang tips the scales at just 6.46 pounds, now how about that? This is said to be less than 50% that of other gaming laptops in the market, automatically placing it on a pedestal as the lowest profile, lightest gaming laptop of its class. All that power without compromising on style and form factor? It certainly can be said to be a pint-sized killer, just like Master Yoda.

Sporting an SSD (solid-state drive) inside that delivers data up to three times faster than traditional hard drives, the Razer Blade will be powered by the latest Intel Core i7 processor and NVIDIA’s GeForce graphics processor for blistering performance even at high quality resolutions. Not only that, there will be the inclusion of Razer’s multi-award-winning Switchblade UI that integrates a LCD display/multi-touch panel and 10 dynamic adaptive tactile keys, letting you have full control of commands and functions within your fingertips. Feeling lucky?
