Not that we were on pins and needles wondering what Motorola’s September 5th event would contain, but what vestige of mystery was left may just have been sapped away. A quartet of Motorola tutorial videos newly uncovered by YouTube user revowii walk users through the unannounced XT926, better known in unofficial circles as the Droid RAZR HD. It’s all about the looks in this leak: other than the conspicuous link to Verizon, what’s mostly validated here is the expected use of a customized Android 4.0 with on-screen navigation keys, much like the Atrix HD in AT&T’s corner of the universe. Earlier murmurings have the Droid RAZR HD carrying the same Snapdragon S4, 720p screen and LTE as well, which could leave the CDMA voice network, NFC and possibly increased storage as the only real differences. We’ll know the full truth in about two weeks’ time, but those who don’t mind a peek into the possible future can hop past the story break to indulge in some video time traveling.

It’s just another day in the life of the FCC, but it’s a big deal to anyone looking forward to yet another Droid RAZR in Verizon’s future. The XT907, a rumored midrange handset, just got pushed through the federal approval process today with Big Red’s LTE bands, NFC and the standard CDMA / EVDO radios to boot. We’ll keep digging to see what else we can find about the device, but at least the FCC has blessed us with yet another fun mystery to solve.

Good news Motorola RAZR owners, if you’re in possession of the international version of the handset, you might be interested to learn that according to reports, Motorola is rolling out the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for your devices now. At the moment reports of the update are coming from Europe, but we expect that it should be making its way around the world in no time. So if you own the HSPA version of the Motorola RAZR, you should probably check your phone to see if you have received the notification, or you can try to manually fetch the update by refreshing the System Updates screen. If you have received the update, especially if you’re outside the European region, let us know in the comments below on how the update is treating you!

A brand new Motorola smartphone is headed your way soon from Motorola and either Verizon or AT&T, with the manufacturer teasing the shape of the device today. The final product will be revealed August 10th, but for now we have but two details: the device is going to look like a big rectangle with extremely sharp (yet rounded) corners, and it’ll have 4G LTE. Our guess is as good as yours, just as long as your guess is the Motorola RAZR HD (or DROID RAZR HD if it ends up rolling out on Verizon) – it’s almost a sure bet!

What you’ll see above is Motorola’s image showing what they want you to see thus far of this device – below you’ll find the Motorola RAZR HD, a device that’s been leaked already with features surprisingly similar to what we’re expecting here from the big M. This device will certainly have a display thats sharper than the original DROID RAZR, will have a body that’s just a bit different all around, and will be rocking some really quite square corners. If you head to the Facebook page where this device has been shown (in blanked-out gray and red) you’ll see the following text as well:

Let’s play a game, Guess the Smartphone. We’ll give a clue each day all week and make the big reveal on Friday. I have the power of 4G LTE. Which smartphone am I?

There’s nothing specifically pointing toward the idea that this device is a NEW phone, you might want to notice, but it isn’t often that Motorola plays a game like this without pushing a device that doesn’t yet exist on the market. Other options here are the RAZR MAXX or the original RAZR, as they’re both also relatively square, so to speak, but we’re banking on the following image being a pretty good match.

The image you see above comes from Android Community where they picked it up from some inside sources posting on Droid Forums. The device doesn’t quite have the same squareness to its corners like the teaser above does, but it’s pretty close. Close enough that we’ll shake on it.
