Instagram, Real Racing 3 And Temple Run 2 Rumored For Release On Windows Phone In May

Instagram, Real Racing 3 And Temple Run 2 Rumored For Release On Windows Phone In MayEarlier today we reported on a leaked screenshot that revealed that Instagram could be arriving for Windows Phone. The screenshot appeared to be legit and thanks to additional rumors and screenshots courtesy of @anontechleaks, Windows Phone users could be in for a treat. Come May, not only will you be able to download Instagram, but big titles such as the recently released Real Racing 3 and Temple Run 2! Those are some pretty heavy titles on both iOS and Android, so by releasing them on the Windows Phone platform, there are now more reasons to make the switch if you were considering such a move. @anontechleaks claims that the apps are already in the WP Store, but like yesterday’s screenshot revealed, they are not available for download, indicating that while they look ready for launch, they are waiting for permission to do so.

Steel Series Unveils Real Racing 3 Headset For $100

Steel Series Unveils Real Racing 3 Headset For $100A couple of days ago Real Racing 3 was announced for both iOS and Android. This is the third installment in the Real Racing franchise and the graphics in the game has definitely been taken up a notch. Now if you’ve enjoyed the franchise and you’d like to show how much you’ve enjoyed it, Steel Series has announced the Real Racing 3 headset. Priced at $100, the Real Racing 3 headset is painted a stark white with the Real Racing 3 logo on the side in a shiny chrome-like finish. The ear plates have also been designed to resemble a speedometer as well and the headset will feature 40mm driver speaker units.

The headset will also come with a detachable cable for those who accidentally tug on the cables during gameplay or walking, an in-line microphone that allows the headset to double up as a hands free piece, and if your friend would like to hear what’s going on while you play the game, the headset will also come with an additional port that your friend can plug their headset into. Steel Series has typically been known to create gaming peripherals for computer and consoles, so it’s a little odd that they have decided to create one for a mobile game. Either way with it being priced at $100, it does seem a little steep, but to each their own, right?

Real Racing 3 Launches On iOS And Android, Adopts Freemium Model

If we did not know any better, looking at the screenshots of Real Racing 3 one would assume that the game belongs on the console. However if you have played its previous iterations, you know that the Real Racing franchise is actually a mobile game for both iOS and Android devices. The good news is that if you have been eagerly waiting for Real Racing 3, you might be pleased to learn that the game is now available in the iTunes App Store and Google Play. Even better news is that the game is free, unlike its previous two versions which were paid apps.

Unfortunately the free app means that the game has essentially adopted the freemium model. For those unfamiliar, the freemium model basically makes games free of charge, but its developers make money by selling in-game items that help the player advance. Ultimately this could cost the player more money than they would have spent had they bought the game at full price. As far as Real Racing 3 is concerned, the freemium model takes the form of wait times during repairs, upgrades, and vehicle unlocks, all of which can be sped up by purchasing gold coins. Personally I am not a fan of the freemium model, but to each their own, right? [iTunes App Store] [Google Play]

Real Racing 3 for iPhone 5 screenshot revealed

Good news gamers, if you’ve enjoyed the previous installments of Real Racing, you’re probably not surprised to learn that Real Racing 3 will be making its way onto iOS devices as well, and best of all it appears to support the new iPhone 5’s 16:9 display. This was confirmed by the Firemonkeys who uploaded a screenshot from the game onto their Twitter account, giving us a glimpse of what the game could look like on a 16:9 display. The game looks gorgeous and appears to be taking advantage of Apple’s A6 SoC which the Cupertino company claims is 2x faster than its A5 predecessor. Real Racing 3 will also be taking advantage of the new Game Center challenges feature that allows gamers to compete against each other asynchronously, letting you challenge your friends and vice versa whenever you feel like it. Looks pretty good, huh? So who plans on getting their hands on the game upon its release?

Real Racing 3 announced, looks pretty good

If you’ve ever played Real Racing or Real Racing 2, you’ll probably agree with me when I say that the graphics in both games are pretty good as far as mobile gaming is concerned. Well if you enjoyed the first and second installments of the racing game, you might be interested to learn that a third installment has been announced which has been dubbed Real Racing 3. While it was not revealed which platforms it will be arriving on, it is safe to assume that since earlier games had made its way onto iOS and Android, we expect Real Racing 3 will do the same as well. No word on when the game will be released, although according to EA/Firemonkeys (Firemint and Iron Monkeys), it should be arriving sometime later this year. Until then, check out the video above for the announcement trailer which looks pretty amazing as it is, or you can head on over to the Google Play store if you’re an Android user who Real Racing 2 is currently on sale at $0.99. So, who’s looking forward to it?
