007 Concealed Blade Briefcase Doesn’t Give You a License to Kill

When you are a secret spy working for British intelligence, your people come up with all kinds of cool gadgets for you to kill or maim. And if you need to protect some documents, and 007′s concealed blade briefcase is the perfect thing.

blade suitcase
Bond’s briefcase (shown above) hid a razor sharp blade for protecting the goods (and himself). Now you can own a perfect replica of the stylish and elegant briefcase used by Sean Connery in the classic 007 movie “From Russia with Love.”

james bond briefcase 2

Keep in mind that the replica case doesn’t actually come with the pop-out knife, though its makers at Swaine Adeney Brigg state:

The case has no pockets in the lid, so is an open box inside. We will supply you with an exact replica of James Bond’s case that we made for the Bond movie; any modifications you choose to make are down to your own imagination.

Most of our customers ask for a pocket here, a strap there. But we can, of course, accommodate more unusual requests from agents in the field. Often, just a small twist on a classic design can turn your attaché case into a real talking point.

(Wink, wink, nudge, nudge.)

It’s the perfect place for all of your valuables. Unfortunately, this perfect replica will cost you £1675.00 (~$2,600 USD) making this one expensive briefcase. Spy stuff doesn’t come cheap.

These Pokéballs are made not by the Poké Mart but by a shop called Pallet Town Exports. They will be available in six types, but for now the shop only has images of the regular Pokéball, the Premiere Ball and the Ultra Ball. The other three will be replicas of the Master Ball and Luxury Ball, plus a 1.5″ version of the regular Pokéball.

As you can see in the images, the replicas have light-up switches and can be customized with either a clean or battle-worn look. Do Pokéballs battle?

Life-size R/C Wall-E Replica: Want-1

For YouTube’s Geek Week, Tested interviewed robotics enthusiast Mike McMaster about his remote-controlled and life-size Wall-E replica. McMaster is part of the Wall-E Builder’s Club, a group of hobbyists who started planning on building a replica of the lovable robot even before his movie came out.

Watch Tested’s video to find out the effort and ingenuity that Mike and his friends put in to make the robot:

As Mike said, you should join the Wall-E Builder’s Club if you want to make your own Wall-E. I wonder if they can make a flying EVE.

Soul Edge Life-Size Replica Will Consume Your Soul. And Your Shoulders and Your Back.

Artist and cosplayer Casy Kovach chose to go as Nightmare from SoulCalibur 5 for this year’s Dragon Con. Short of hiring Tony Swatton, Kovach went to great lengths to create a Soul Edge replica worthy of its videogame counterpart.

soul edge replica by casy kovach

The base of the sword’s blade was carved from a board of insulating foam. Casy carved the board to match the shape of Soul Edge’s blade then added fiberglass to its outer edge. Then he used lots of Model Magic as well as hot glue to replicate the muscles and flesh covering the blade. He used a plastic sphere from a toy for Soul Edge’s eyes. Finally he painstakingly painted and buffed the blade. He worked on it on and off over 7 months, but the result is worth it.

Casy estimates that the blade alone weighs about 15lbs, but it sure looks like it weighs more than that. He used plumbing pipes as the sword’s handle but eventually he had to add a few ankle weights as well to give the sword a more sensible center of gravity. This is just the sword; imagine when he’s wearing Nightmare’s armor. He’s going to be a statue at Dragon Con.

Qmx Reveals Star Trek into Darkness U.S.S. Vengeance Replica

Holy Wrath of Khan, this is an amazingly detailed ship! QMx has created a replica of the U.S.S. Vengeance in honor of the 2013 blockbuster Star Trek Into Darkness. This Dreadnought is a 1:1600 scale model and the largest replica starship by QMx to date.

qmx vengeance replica 2 This limited-edition collectors model measures in at 36 inches-long, 18 inches-wide and 8.5 inches-high. The height is 14 inches when mounted on its stand. Not that size matters. This thing is awesome no matter what. The display base is mirrored too. It is outfitted with 100 LEDs that are remote-controlled, along with weapons, warp, impulse and running lights. It also plays sounds.

qmx vengeance replica 3
It takes about 200 hours and six model makers to create just one of these. Only 100 will ever be made, and each one is available for a whopping $9,995(USD). QMx is also planning a collector’s model, which will be a true replica, though smaller in size and with less features. That will cost you $100(USD).

Batman Arkham City Riddler Tropher Replica

Batman’s collection of villains are a strange bunch, where most of them are just plain mad. After all, villains tend to have this lust for power, while some of them are totally insane that they just want to introduce nothing but anarchy to the world. The Riddler, however, is willing to tempt the world’s greatest detective with his collection of riddles, that sometimes ends up as irritating. Still, here is the $349.99 Batman Arkham City Riddler Tropher Replica that allows you to display it on a shelf, be it at home or at the office.

The reason why it costs so much is because this has been hand-sculpted, hand-finished, and hand-painted, so you can be quite sure that no two of these are the same, as there should be some subtle differences between them. Not only that, the Batman Arkham City Riddler Tropher Replica would look a whole lot better in the dark and at night thanks to a beautiful LED effect. This is an officially licensed DC Comics collectible, so who knows, it might even be worth something many more years down the road when you are old and feeble, while Bruce Wayne as the Dark Knight remains young, strong and rich in the comics.

The First Doctor’s TARDIS Set Amazingly Replicated

Doctor Who fans are looking forward to Mark Gatiss’ An Adventure in Time and Space as part of the 50th anniversary of the classic science fiction show. For this anniversary they are not just recreating popular scenes. They have actually rebuilt the First Doctor’s TARDIS console room.

original tardis

All I can say is Holy Timelord! It looks amazing. Who doesn’t love a bunch of dials and levers on a central console?

This TARDIS set was put on display at Comic Con Paris. I can’t even imagine how good this thing looks in person. The only thing missing in that image is the Doctor himself.

LEGO Alien Facehugger: a Minifig’s Worst Nightmare

deviantART member/LEGO enthusiast/alien host Carlos Valero made this life-size LEGO replica of the facehugger from the Alien series. It’s not the scariest replica of the facehugger that I’ve seen, but it is the only LEGO creation that I find repulsive. I never thought I’d be creeped out by LEGO.

Bioshock Infinite Bird/Cage Necklaces: Choose Your Path (on Etsy)

The bird and cage necklaces in Bioshock Infinite are one of the “choices” offered in the critically acclaimed game. In that world, Elizabeth asks you to choose which necklace she should get. But in this world, you don’t have to choose, because you can buy both of these fan made replicas. You don’t even have to buy either of them.

Of course, you won’t know how not owning either or both of these necklaces will affect your game’s ending. Compounding matters is the fact that Etsy seller League of Shadows has three different bronze outlines for the pendants. And that the pendants are also available as brooches. Brooches be crazy.

You know what they say – there’s always a lighthouse, there’s always a man, there’s always a city. Not that I know why they say that; I haven’t played the game yet. What I do know is that you can buy the necklaces and brooches from League of Shadows for $13 (USD) each.

Street Legal Batman Tumbler Replica Rises

The Gumball 3000 is an international rally for rich people who own exotic supercars. It’s a chance to show off and let their expensive toys roar. But this year’s race will feature one car that’s surely more exotic than even the newest Lambo. It’s a life-size replica of the Tumbler from Nolan’s Batman films.

The car was commissioned by a group of gearheads from Saudi Arabia who call themselves Team Galag. According to Yahoo! Autos, the replica has a 400hp engine, goes up to 100mph and cost $1.6 million (USD) to build. A Wayne-level budget; I guess that adds to the authenticity. Autoblog says that the car was made by Parker Brothers Concepts, who are no strangers to building wacky one-off vehicles for the rich and famous.
