Pump. Pump. Pump. Sam Houser’s heart is pounding. The most reclusive man in video games and the mastermind behind the 150-million-selling Grand Theft Auto series is biking to work in the pouring rain. His custom pink Independent Fabrication racer weaves through New York City traffic, the type of chaotic gridlock Grand Theft Auto players love to career through in a stolen car. Houser has a heavy nest of a black beard he rarely cuts, one that provides him the anonymity he covets as he speeds through the streets from Brooklyn to the SoHo office of Rockstar Games. "I do this 365 days a year," he says. "Sometimes the snow’s so deep I have to carry my bike over the bridge. But every day, every day."
Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto 5 has been an absolute hit for the company ever since the game released, although its Grand Theft Auto Online went through a few months experiencing some expected growing pains. The title recently received a free “Beach Bum” DLC pack a few weeks ago, with more content expected in the coming months. But what if Rockstar gave power to the players to create their own content? That’s exactly what the company plans in the future, and one lucky player was able to not only access Grand Theft Auto Online’s content creator, but also recorded it for the Internet to enjoy. Rockstar announced earlier today Grand Theft Auto V has shipped 29 million copies ever since it was first released last month, which is an extremely impressive amount considering the game has only been out for a little over a month. One feature of the game that surprised many players when they first started playing Grand Theft Auto V was the fact you could take selfies with the cellphones of in-game characters, resulting in many humorous images to be posted online. Rockstar realizes you all really enjoy this feature, and as a result has put together its first Snapmatic Photo Contest. (more…)

Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto 5 was released onto the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 just a few weeks ago with many reviewers and fans of the series agreeing it’s quite an offering from the company. One group that you wouldn’t expect to enjoy the game are moms, who we think would prefer to have the sex, drugs and violence of the game toned down a bit so their children can enjoy the game. As you’ll see from a segment that aired on Saturday Night Live this past weekend, it looks like moms can enjoy the game just as much as their teenage sons.
Saturday Night Live cast member Kate McKinnon played Pat Lynhart, a mother from Hartford, Connecticut who just so happens to share the same sentiment as the rest of us do about Grand Theft Auto 5: it’s friggin great. Lynhart’s review of Grand Theft Auto 5 is as over the top as the game itself, with the mom going off on how much more she enjoys playing the game than she does taking care of her children. Let’s just hope calling out Wei Cheng of the Triad clan doesn’t cost her the next time she plays Grand Theft Auto 5 since we know how tough his gang can be.
