Sony PS4 Will Focus On New Playing Options, Not Hardware Specs [Rumor]

Sony PS4 Will Focus On New Playing Options, Not Hardware Specs [Rumor]

We’ve been hearing a number of PlayStation 4 rumors over the past few months that discuss its hardware that may be stronger than the next-generation Xbox, its controller capable of touch inputs as well as its retail price.

A new PlayStation 4 rumor is circulating today from a Japanese news outlet Nikkei who is sourcing an unidentified official of Sony Computer Entertainment. The source revealed Sony isn’t focusing as much on its upcoming console’s ability to deliver amazing graphics, instead, it’s focusing more on delivering “new playing options” to its customers. In addition, Sony also has planned to make its next PlayStation a “nerve center” for home entertainment by connecting and sharing information via mobile devices. (more…)

Possible Samsung Galaxy S4 Camera Images Spotted On Google+

Possible Samsung Galaxy S4 Camera Images Spotted On Google+It has been speculated that perhaps the Samsung Galaxy S4 for AT&T could be going by the model number SGH-i337, and assuming that is true, it looks like we might be looking at some camera image samples from the Galaxy S4 (pictured above). The photos were uploaded onto Google+ by a certain Hyunsuk Park, but at this time of posting the photos have since been taken down, leading us to speculate that perhaps there might be some merit to these photos after all.

According to the EXIF data, the photos were snapped by a SGH-i337 and were snapped at a lower resolution, so at this point in time we cannot confirm the rumors of the Galaxy S4 featuring a 13MP camera. The EXIF data also revealed the camera’s aperture at f/2.2 which should make it pretty decent in low light situations, although we’ll probably have to test it ourselves just to be sure. In any case as you can see, the photo is rather blurry so it’s hard to judge the quality or capabilities of the Galaxy S4 just yet, but in the meantime we guess this will have to do.

iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 Rumored For 2013 Launch

iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 Rumored For 2013 LaunchSome of you guys might have heard that Apple could be set to launch an iPhone 5S and an iPhone (with the latter supposedly featuring a 5” display). Apart from the iPhone 5S, the iPhone 6 does not really make sense as this does not fall with Apple’s tradition of releasing one smartphone a year, but then again with Apple currently under the leadership of Tim Cook, perhaps things are starting to change and with the competition getting fiercer, we wouldn’t be surprised if Cook decided that breaking tradition might not be such a bad idea after all.

With that being said, assuming these rumors are true, when exactly will these alleged iDevices launch? According to a translated report from the Chinese media (via Brightwire), word on the street has it that the iPhone 5S and iPhone 6 are set to launch later this year. Like we said earlier, the launch of the iPhone 5S would not be surprising, but two smartphones in a year would. The report goes on to claim that the iPhone 5S resembles the iPhone 5, although we expect that the changes would probably be under the hood,  while the iPhone 6 is both lighter and thinner, rather interesting considering it has a larger display (or so they say). We will take this with a grain of salt for now and suggest you do the same, but what do you guys think of a 5” iPhone?

Samsung Galaxy S4 To Be Introduced In Russia?

Samsung Galaxy S4 To Be Introduced In Russia?Hmmm, the Samsung Galaxy S3 was first announced officially to the masses in London last year at the Galaxy S3 Unpacked event in 2012, and for next year’s edition, there is a possibility that Samsung Unpacked will kick off in chilly Moscow, Russia. It is said that there is a possibility of the Samsung Unpacked event happening alongside Sochi 2014, which is where the Olympic Winter Games will be held in Russia.

It was not too long ago that Samsung announced a sponsoring partnership with Sochi 2014, and since 2014 is a long way off (relatively speaking, of course, when it comes to the world of tech), but anything remains possible. It was leaked recently that Samsung Unpacked date will be held on March 15. Well, I think that the Galaxy S4 will be released this year, as it would be out of character for Samsung not to refresh their flagship smartphone annually, and the Galaxy S5 should see action in Russia instead. What do you think?

Report: Xbox 720 To Feature Siri Like Voice Control

It seems every day we get closer to E3, there’s a new rumor for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720. Yesterday we heard of the possibility the next-generation Xbox requiring an Internet connection at all times, which may be one of the nails in the coffin of the used games industry.

Today, The Verge is reporting they’ve learned from sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans for its next-generation Xbox the company plans on improving its speech recognition technology. The next-generation Xbox is expected to have wake on voice, natural language controls and speech-to-text technologies. (more…)

New Sony Cameras Rumored For 20th February Announcement

New Sony Cameras Rumored For 20th February AnnouncementSo we know that on the 20th of February, Sony is expected to announce something related to the PlayStation, and some are speculating that it could be the long-awaited PlayStation 4. However according to Sony Alpha Rumors, they claim to have received a tip that states that Sony will be making another announcement on the 20th of February, although this time it is expected to be camera related. The timing is a bit odd and seemingly stepping on each other, but then again these are two different industries so maybe not so far-fetched after all (we still have our doubts though). According to their source, it is possible that the Sony NEX-3n will be announced, as well as the A38 and possibly the A58 as well. This is a bit contradictory considering the previous rumor suggested that the A38 and A58 could see March-April announcements. Either way it looks like the 20th of February could be an exciting date, so check back with us then to see what Sony has in store for us!

Sony PlayStation 4 Rumored To Cost Around $400

Sony PlayStation 4 Rumored To Cost Around $400Many believe that the PlayStation 4 will be released this year, although when exactly remains to be seen, but at the same time it is speculated that the announcement at the very least will take place on the 20th of February. The next question on everyone’s minds (we’re assuming!) is that how much will the console cost once it goes on sale? Now the PlayStation 3 was definitely not cheap when it was released, although considering it was a huge step up from the PlayStation 2, we guess we can understand why it was priced so expensive at its early stages.

Now according to a newspaper Asahi Shimbun (translate by Gematsu), word has it that the PlayStation 4 could cost around $427 (after conversion from the Japanese Yen). This is compared to the PS3 which cost around $500 at launch for the 20GB version, but perhaps with technology being more advanced these days, it is possible that manufacturing the PS4 could be cheaper which is why Sony is able to price the device more affordably. Either way it is speculation for now, but hopefully come 20th February there will be more details to share, but in the meantime what do you think about the possible price tag? Fair?

HTC teases something new, most likely the M7

We’re getting ever so closer to Mobile World Congress, which is set to begin later this month. All of the big Android device manufacturers will be their touting their new smartphones, tablets, what have you. However, HTC is planning their own little shindig a bit earlier on February 19. Today HTC‘s German division is teasing us with what is possibly a small peak into what they have brewing for the upcoming event, and we think it’s the M7 that everyone’s talking about.

Of course, you may notice right away that there’s a giant human heart in the middle of the teaser, with circuits surrounding it, and at some points, connecting to the heart, making us believe that HTC has some sort of cyborg in the works, but we also wouldn’t be surprised if it was the infamous M7 that we’ve been hearing so much about.

Thanks to HTC CEO Peter Chou, who decided to start an M7 battle cry at an event in Taipei, we know the M7 is coming, but we’re simply not sure when it’ll be announced and such. We’ve seen plenty of images and renders leak, allowing us a look into what the new phone might look like — essentially just large slab of silicon and plastic that we’re used to seeing from HTC.

HTC is rumored to be using a new kind of camera sensor for the M7, stacking several 4.3MP sensors on top of one another instead of using a single large-MP sensor. Other than that, it seems like it’s the same old song and dance, with a 1.7GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro chip, 2GB of RAM, a 1080p display, and a ton of other goodies that we’re sure users will scream over.

Samsung Galaxy S IV rumored for March 15 announcement

At this point, we at least know the Galaxy S IV from Samsung will be announced sometime soon. We last heard a March 22 announcement rumor, but now we’re hearing that the new phone will be unveiled on March 15, according to insiders familiar with the Korean-based company. As far as a public release, the latest rumors are still stuck with April.

samsung_galaxy_s_III_review_sg_7-580x43111

It’s said that Samsung will host an event on that day to unveil the new smartphone, with a release window sometime during the second week in April. As for invitations, it’s rumored that they should be arriving in inboxes shortly after Mobile World Congress later this month, which seems quite logical at this point.

The Galaxy S IV will make its way to European countries first, starting in April as previously mentioned, and then it will hit the States beginning sometime in either May or June. The Galaxy S III launched in Europe before it hit the US, this release schedule for the S IV certainly makes sense. Even the Galaxy S II had the same fate.

However, Galaxy S IV rumors and speculation have been all over the place lately, so we’re definitely keeping the salt by our sides until we hear something from Samsung. However, many of the rumors point to an announcement date and a release window of sometime during the spring, so it’s safe to say that we’ll be hearing more about the new phone at some point shortly.
