Sony A38, A58 and A78 Rumored For Launch This Year

Sony A38, A58 and A78 Rumored For Launch This YearAre you looking forward to seeing what sort of new cameras Sony has for us in the year of 2013? While Sony has yet to confirm anything at the moment, the folks at Sony Alpha Rumors claim that at the very least, we will be seeing 3 new SLT models from the Japanese company. Assuming their information is solid and reliable (so far so good we have to admit), it seems that come March-April, Sony will be making several announcements. One of them will be for the Sony A38, and the other will be for the Sony A58, while the Sony A78 is expected to be announced towards the second half of the year. There are also new lenses to be expected and supposedly new NEX cameras will be debuted as well.

The exact specifications of these cameras have yet to be revealed, but if SAR has their info correct, we guess we will be hearing about one of them next month. We’ll be taking this with a grain of salt for now, but if either of those rumors managed to catch your attention, do check back with us at a later date where hopefully we will have more information to share.

Motorola X Phone Gets Sony Camera, Maxx Battery Life (Rumor)

Motorola X Phone Gets Sony Camera, Maxx Battery Life (Rumor)It goes without saying that the Motorola X phone is already well in the pipeline, ready and waiting to be unleashed upon the masses at the right time, but this bit of rumor from Phone Arena certainly shares a wee bit more information than usual – and one of them would be the battery life of the Motorola X phone, where it is touted to come with a battery capacity that allows it to go head-to-head with the Motorola Maxx range. This is definitely good news for heavy users, and perhaps one of the closest rivals in terms of battery life of Android-powered devices from other manufacturers would be the Samsung Galaxy Note 2.

Other than the supposedly phenomenal battery life, it is said that the camera sensor will be sourced from Sony, although we have no idea on the amount of megapixels that it will be able to pack in. It is a general consensus among consumers that Sony’s Exmor camera sensors tend to pump out a whole lot more quality than the rest in the market, never mind that their handsets are not exactly doing gangbusters in recent times despite having pretty good industrial design.

PS4: Stronger Than Next Gen Xbox With Touch Based Controls [Rumor]

It’s funny what can happen in a single week as last week gamers were probably not considering Sony could announce the PlayStation 4 this year, let alone release it sometime in 2013. And this week, we’re being flooded with speculation due to Sony’s teaser that was released yesterday. It looks as though the speculation won’t end until February 20th, although we might know a little bit about the PlayStation 4 before it’s announced.

According to development sources with knowledge of both the PlayStation 4 and the next Xbox, it looks like the PlayStation 4 is being considered the more powerful console. The specs of the PlayStation 4 are rumored to have 8GB of RAM that include GDDR5, which is capable of data speeds of 176GB per second.

Those who were skeptical of the PlayStation 4′s controller having some kind of touch-based controls should know the PS4 is rumored to have a small touchpad where the Select, Start and PS button are located on DualShock controllers. A Share button will also be introduced with the controller that will allow players to take screenshots and video clips of their game to be published online. The PlayStation 4 will be capable of recording up to 15 minutes of the most recent onscreen gameplay.

Samsung Rumored To Be Testing New Update Service With The Galaxy S4

Samsung Rumored To Be Testing New Update Service With The Galaxy S4Sometimes some of us aren’t patient enough to wait for a particular phone to arrive to our market, so we resort to gray imports from other countries who already have the device. This is perfectly normal, although in some cases it can prove somewhat costly due to limited supply. However according to the folks at SamMobile who have heard a rumor, it seems that Samsung might be interested in cracking down on gray imports with new update services starting with the Samsung Galaxy S4. Basically Samsung is interested in retaining more control over the sales and updates of its products, and one of ways it plans to do that is to prevent retailers from shipping devices to other countries. LG Optimus L7 II Dual leaks, brings dual-SIM along for the ride

LG‘s original Optimus L7 was released over the spring last year, but it was quickly succeeded by the Optimus L9. However, it seems that LG is bringing the mid-range device back onto the market with a few improvements coming with it. A Russian website has leaked what is supposedly the Optimus L7 II Dual, with a dual-SIM slot.

Screen Shot 2013-01-31 at 9.40.15 AM

The design is a bit different than what LG usually goes after. The L7 II Dual is a bit curvier and more rounded than past Optimus devices, but overall it still has the LG look, which is most important. The phone is said to come with dual-SIM capabilities, meaning you can pack in to SIM cards and switch between the two whenever need be.

Other than that, we’re looking at a 4.3-inch IPS LCD display of the original L7, but the CPU gets a slight spec bump to a 1.0GHz dual-core chip, as well as a better 8MP camera that shoots 720p video. The new device is also said to be running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box and comes with a very respectable 2460mAh battery.

The LG Optimus L7 II Dual is said to launch sometime later in February in Russia for 12,990 rubles ($430). That’s probably not what the price will be exactly once it hits Europe, but we’ll have to wait and see what LG does on the price front once it’s announced. The company announced the original L7 at Mobile World Congress last year, so we’re guessing that they’ll do the same this time around.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Rumored For Possible April Launch

Galaxy S IV raffle jpg Samsung Galaxy S4 Rumored For Possible April LaunchThe Samsung Galaxy S4 is probably one of the most highly anticipated handsets of 2013 and so far rumors have been flying around regarding its possible specs and release date. It can be confirmed that at the very least, the Galaxy S4 will not be making an appearance at MWC 2013, so when can we expect it then? Well according to the folks at PhoneArena, they have received photos of an internal raffle document for a New Zealand mobile retailer who states that winners of the raffle will be given a free Samsung Galaxy S4 device. Considering that the raffle will run until the 8th of April, it has been speculated that the Galaxy S4 should be launched sometime around that date as well.

This combined with rumors that suggest that Samsung will be holding an Unpacked event in the US on the 22nd of March seems to further solidify those speculations as well. Either way as is the case with all rumors, they’re best taken with a grain of salt, but we’ll definitely be keeping our eyes peeled for more information so do check back with us at a later date for the details! In the meantime what do you guys think the chances are that the Galaxy S4 will be released in April?

Apple Job Listing For A Plastics Tooling Engineer Coincides With Low-Cost iPhone Rumors

apple iphone 3gs 1 Apple Job Listing For A Plastics Tooling Engineer Coincides With Low Cost iPhone RumorsThere have been rumors surrounding the possibility of a low cost iPhone which could be pieced together using various iOS device components. As to whether that is true or not remains to be seen, but thanks to a recent job listing by Apple, it seems that at the very least Apple is looking for new ways to use plastic in their products. So far Apple has been known for using high quality materials for most of its offerings, such as glass, aluminum, stainless steel and whatnot, but the job listing for a “Tooling Engineer” in plastics has revealed the Cupertino company’s interest in using plastic in non-traditional ways to help shape and control the material better.

This seems to somewhat corroborate the rumors that this low-cost iPhone could be made using a plastic body compared to the iPhone 4/4S and iPhone 5 which used a combination of glass, stainless steel and aluminum. Then again plastic is prevalent in other Apple products such as the Magic Mouse, cables, keyboards and etc. so it is possible that this job listing might not be related to the iPhone at all. Either way with rumors about a low-cost iPhone running rampant, this job listing seems to be rather coincidental in nature, but we’ll keep the speculation to a minimum and suggest you do the same.
