Apple is apparently expected to announce multiple iPhones this year, which is great for the iPhone community, but what about the iPad? We’ve heard rumors of an iPad Mini 2 possibly in the works that will have a Retina Display, although if a report from iLounge is to be believed, this may turn out to be the next official iPad.

It was just a few days ago when we brought you word that Apple might not stick to the usual one-iPhone-per-year tactic, and I suppose this is because their stand has been shaken with the rise of Samsung in the Android market, where the South Korean conglomerate adopted a “cover all bases” approach. Hence, Apple would apparently double their efforts with two new iPhone models lined up for 2013, and both of them will carry in-cell touch, or at least those were the rumors making their rounds. Could we be given the slip? The latest round of rumors point to not two, but three (!) iPhones in 2013, with an “affordable” model being one of them.
I personally find this rumor to be highly unbelievable, as it is said that the three iPhones coming our way this year will include a refreshed iPhone 5, the iPhone 6, and the last one would be an entry-level ‘affordable’ phone that has been called the iPhone ‘Math.’ What do you think of this rumor, and just how much reality does this rumor have?

Lenovo And RIM To Strike A Deal?
Posted in: Today's ChiliRIM (Research in Motion) did seem to be dragging its feet through the doldrums in recent years, especially when their market share was steadily chipped away by the modern day interpretation of the smartphone – full touchscreen and all, but things do seem to be looking up with the impending release of the BlackBerry 10 operating system that is set to happen at the end of this month, along with its fair share of hardware to go along with the software, of course. Well, CEO Thorsten Heins might have given away more than he wanted by dropping hints that RIM could consider selling off its hardware division, or perhaps to license its BlackBerry OS to third parties.
According to Bloomberg, Lenovo’s Chief Financial Officer Wong Wai mentioned in an interview, “We are looking at all opportunities — RIM and many others…We’ll have no hesitation if the right opportunity comes along that could benefit us and shareholders.”
Do you think that RIM’s synergy with Lenovo would be able to produce some revolutionary devices down the road? The possibilities are always endless, as it really depends on the creative team behind it.

Too many buttons for one side
A couple of weeks ago we reported that a supposed high-end Nokia device would be making its way onto Verizon network, and it looks like The Verge might be able to confirm that. According to their sources, it seems that the Nokia device has been given the codename Laser and the handset is expected to debut on Verizon’s network alongside another Nokia handset called “Catwalk”. It seems that both Laser and Catwalk are variants of the Lumia 920, although we’re sure if you have been keeping up with the rumors, Catwalk is said to be a Lumia 920 encased in an aluminum body versus the polycarbonate body which is currently being used.
At the moment it is unclear as to how much of a variant the Laser will be of the Lumia 920, but if The Verge’s sources are spot on, it seems that not only will this handset be a flagship device for Verizon, but Microsoft will actually be backing it up and investing some marketing dollars into helping Verizon and Nokia promote this device. No word on when exactly this Nokia Laser will be announced, but with MWC 2013 taking place next month, we expect that might be a good time for an announcement to be made. Either way we will be keeping our eyes peeled for more information about this Nokia Laser, so be sure to check back with us at a later date for the details!

We’ve been hearing a lot about Samsung‘s upcoming flagship smartphone, and while we’re all curious to know the specs and design of the new device, something that may not have come to mind are Samsung’s expectations for the Galaxy S IV. It’s rumored that the company is expecting to sell 10 million units per month on average.
Apparently, Money Today has learned that Samsung has ordered each of its subcontractors to provide 10 million components per month, and even if that is true, we don’t expect Samsung or any of its clients to comment on those numbers. Overall, though, Overall, Samsung wants to sell over 500 million phones in 2013, with 350 million of them being smartphones.
It’s been heavily rumored that the GSIV will release to the public in April, with an announcement coming on March 22, according to the latest speculation. And due to the tremendous success of the Galaxy S II and the Galaxy S III, Samsung wants to go big with its upcoming device, and is looking to sell more units than any of its phones ever.
The Galaxy S III is one the best-selling smartphones in the world, but it took 50 days for it to surpass shipments of 10 million units a feat that Samsung wants to shorten that to 30 days with the Galaxy S IV and continue to deliver those number every month. It’s not said how long Samsung wants to keep that up, but we’re guessing throughout the summer into the holiday season.

We’ve been hearing plenty of chatter about Samsung’s rumored 8-inch Galaxy Note tablet lately, and we’ve already seen plenty of leaks of the new tablet, as well as a hint from a Samsung exec that we should be seeing the new device at Mobile World Congress next month. However, we’re now seeing the tablet itself out in the wild in all its glory.
Italian website DDay.it ended up getting a hold of some photos of the new device, where the tablet is actually being used by a patron out in the public without so much as a, “How do you do?” It’s said that this is the Galaxy Note 8.0 that Samsung may reveal at Mobile World Congress, and while we’re definitely excited for an 8-inch variant of the Note, the tablet looks pretty much like an enlarged Galaxy S III.
However, what’s perhaps particularly striking is the button layout. Samsung’s Galaxy tablets in the past have traditionally used on-screen buttons when Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich rolled around, but it looks like the new Galaxy Note 8.0 is a different story. Instead, it looks to have a physical home button, with two capacitive touch buttons.
The photos also suggest that the Galaxy Note 8.0 will have two cameras, one on the back and one on the front. Plus, there looks to be a speaker above its display, which we’ve seen before on the Galaxy Tab 7. Other than that, it’s rumored that the new tablet will have a 1280×800 resolution, a 1.6GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and up to 32GB of internal storage with a microSD card for expandable opportunities.
