Sony Xperia Tablet Z Could Get 22nd January Announcement [Rumor]

Xperia Tablet Z 640x535 Sony Xperia Tablet Z Could Get 22nd January Announcement [Rumor]A couple of days ago we reported that Sony might have a Xperia Tablet Z in the works, and while that may or may not be the case, it seems that more evidence of the Sony Xperia Tablet Z has surfaced via Japanese carrier, NTT DoCoMo. As you can see in the screenshot above, it looks like NTT DoCoMo has scheduled an event on the 22nd of January 2013 which according to the text, will introduce the latest in Sony’s Xperia series of devices with the Xperia Tablet Z being named as one of them. It’s a bit odd that Sony might launch the tablet at NTT DoCoMo’s event versus a larger scale event such as the upcoming   MWC 2013, although with Sony being a Japanese company, we wouldn’t be surprised if they had some kind of deal with the Japanese carrier as well.

In any case rumor has it that the Xperia Tablet Z will feature a 10.1” Full HD 1080p touchscreen display with a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset on board, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a 6,000mAh battery with Android Jelly Bean running the show. It is also expected to be encased in a rugged body which would allow it to withstand a fair amount of abuse. In essence and assuming the rumors are true, the Xperia Tablet Z sounds like the Xperia Z but in tablet form. We’ll keep our eyes peeled for more information, but check back with us on the 22nd of January to see if the rumors pan out!

Let The LG Nexus 5 And Nexus 7.7 Rumors Begin

LG Logo 640x302 Let The LG Nexus 5 And Nexus 7.7 Rumors BeginYou can more or less say with confidence that LG never really managed to make a splash with their Nexus 4 device, but as momma always said, it doesn’t matter how many times you fall down, the important part is getting back on your own two feet afterwards. LG has not had much luck with the limited supply of the Nexus 4, and so it is with great pleasure that we bring you the latest rumors concerning the next generation of Nexii devices – and we will kick things off with the LG Nexus 5.

Touted to arrive with a 5″ Full HD display, the Nexus 5 will also carry the new NVIDIA Tegra 4, 2GB RAM, a 13-megapixel shooter at the back, a 3-megapixel camera in front, and a choice between 8GB or 16GB of internal memory.

As for the next Google tablet, it will most likely be a Nexus 7.7 that carries a 1,920 x 1,200 resolution (294ppi) display, NVIDIA’s Tegra 4 of course, 8GB of internal memory, front and rear HD cameras. Same rumors also point to the official unveiling of both devices at the Google I/O conference that is happening in mid-May this year. What do you make of these rumors?

HTC M7 first full image leaks out, looks vaguely familiar

Look what we have here, folks. After months of rumors and no images to go along with them, we finally have what is said to be the HTC M7 in all its glory. We saw a slight glimpse of the device last week when a couple of screenshots were leaked, but this is the first image of the alleged M7 where we see it all.

HTC_M7_render

Be aware, though, that this is just a render, not an actual photo of the rumored device. Either way, it gives us a better idea of what HTC’s upcoming flagship may look like. The render comes from EVLeaks, which has been incredibly reliable in the past, so while we’ll still remain a bit skeptical, we wouldn’t be too surprised if this is real.

The render is said to be part of a short animation clip that teaches new owners how to install a SIM card. Then again, there’s a big lack of any kind of branding, so this may not be the exact design that HTC will use when the phone is expected to be unveiled at Mobile World Congress next month in Barcelona, Spain.

And yes, it looks strikingly similar to the iPhone 5, right down to the two-tone backing and the rounded corners, so if this actually turns out to be the design that HTC uses, I’m sure we’ll hear from Apple lawyers in no time. As far as for the M7, we’re looking at a 4.7-inch 1080p display with a 1.7GHz quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM. There’s also supposedly going to be 32GB of internal storage, a 13MP f/2.0 rear camera, a 2MP front-facing camera, and a 2300mAh battery to power it all.

LG Optimus G2 Rumored For Fall Release With Android 5.0

LG Optimus G 15 LG Optimus G2 Rumored For Fall Release With Android 5.0Fans of the LG Optimus G might recall that a few weeks ago, it was suggested that the Optimus G2 could get a possible announcement at CES 2013, but unfortunately the event came and went and apart from new LG TVs, there was no mention of the handset at all. Now according to new reports, it seems that the reason why the Optimus G2 did not make its scheduled CES appearance was due to the handset apparently being delayed for later on this year, and will be delayed until the Fall of 2013 which is when Google is expected to release its next major build of Android – Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie. Specs of the device aren’t known at the moment, but many are pretty sure it will sport a Full HD display which seems to be the trend these days.

However at the same time there have also been rumors that LG could be unveiling a quad-core, Full HD 5.5” Android smartphone at MWC 2013 called the Optimus GK, so we’re not sure what to make of this just yet. Either way MWC 2013 will be taking place in over a month’s time and we will be on site, so check back with us then for all the details. In the meantime we suggest you take this with a grain of salt for now.

Sony A77 Successor Rumored For Late 2013 Release

sony a77 Sony A77 Successor Rumored For Late 2013 ReleaseWe’re sure that there are a ton of Sony camera fans out there who are interested in seeing what the Japanese company might have to offer this year in terms of cameras. The bad news is that fans looking forward to more Sony Full Frame SLT cameras this year will be disappointed, although for photographers who might not see the need for a FF SLT camera and would be happy with an APS-C SLT camera, word has it that Sony could be releasing 2-3 new APS-C SLT cameras later this year, and that it is possible that one of these APS-C SLT cameras could be a successor to the Sony A77 camera. This was revealed by the folks at Sony Alpha Rumors who were tipped off about this from a couple of sources. At the moment not much is known about this possible A77 successor, but we’ll definitely keep our eyes peeled for more information when it has been made available at a later date. However Sony is expected to show off some new cameras at the upcoming CP+ event which will be taking place on the 31st of January, so check back with us then for the details!

LG Reportedly Considering Windows Phone 8 Devices

lg logo 001 640x480 LG Reportedly Considering Windows Phone 8 DevicesWhen it comes to Windows Phone, it’s safe to say that most minds turn to either Nokia or HTC these days. Well if you’re looking for a bit more variety, it seems that you might be able to add LG to that list because according to a report by The Korea Times, it seems that LG is interested in returning to the Windows Phone scene with a Windows Phone 8 handset of their own. For those who might remember, LG attempted to release a Windows Phone 7.5 device called the LG Fantasy which was said to be making its way onto Sprint’s network, but unfortunately that did not happen and we’re not sure why LG decided to cancel their plans for the device.

There were also a slew of contradicting reports which suggested that LG’s focus would be purely on Android and that they would be abandoning the Windows Phone platform, which was then later denied by LG themselves (although the lack of new LG Windows Phone handsets would suggest otherwise). In any case, LG has been making a name for themselves recently with the Optimus G, the world’s first Android smartphone with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset, and by being the company responsible for the manufacturing of Google’s Nexus 4 handset. Either way with Windows Phone 8 being a huge improvement over the Windows Phone platform when it first launched, it might be possible that LG sees a future with it. We’ll keep our eyes peeled for more information, so stay tuned for more updates.

John Sculley Thinks Apple Should Consider A Cheaper iPhone

John Sculley Thinks Apple Should Consider A Cheaper iPhoneThere have been a ton of rumors surrounding a possible cheaper iPhone which could be launched later this year which could also sport a plastic body. Whether Apple launches such a device remains to be seen, but as far as ex-Apple executives are concerned, former CEO John Sculley during an interview with Bloomberg Television said that Apple will need to take the idea of cheaper smartphones seriously. He believes that the smartphone market in developed countries such as the US have already been saturated and that the Cupertino company needs to turn their attention to emerging markets where there are a ton of customers they have yet to tap into, and whose customers might not be able to afford high-end handsets like the iPhone 5 which is considered to be a premium.

Companies such as Samsung and Nokia deal with both high-end and low-end devices, allowing them to operate in both developed markets as well as emerging ones. Granted the low-end smartphones look pretty boring and outdated to most of us, their cheaper price point allows both Samsung and Nokia to capture a larger market. Apple has always been known as a premium sort of retailer, so making cheaper products does seem a little out of Apple’s typical way of doing business, but with the ever-changing business scene, perhaps Apple might want to start looking outside the box. What do you guys think?

Sony NEX-3N Rumored For CP+ Announcement

859418 Sony NEX 3N Rumored For CP+ AnnouncementLast year we reported that Sony could be taking advantage of the CP+ event to show off new NEX and DSLR cameras, and according to the folks at Sony Alpha Rumors, one of the NEX devices that Sony could be unveiled would be the Sony NEX-3N. According to their sources, the Sony NEX-3N will be the successor to the Sony NEX-3, although at this point in time it is unclear as to what sort of features the NEX-3N will come with. In any case with CP+ taking place on the 31st of January, we guess we only have a couple of weeks more before Sony’s offerings are unveiled. In the meantime what are you looking forward to most from Sony? New DSLR cameras or are you more in the market for Sony’s NEX mirrorless camera systems instead?

Apple’s Rumored Cheaper iPhone Could Feature A Plastic Body

Apples Rumored Cheaper iPhone Could Feature A Plastic BodyThere are rumors running rampant that Apple could be looking to produce a cheaper iPhone, and one of the ways the Cupertino company plans to make such a device is with the use of plastic which can be found on the iPhone 3GS which featured a plastic back. This is according to the folks at Digitimes who claims that Apple will be favoring the use of plastic over metal in order to cut down on costs, and that the supplier of these plastic parts will actually be from a company in the US. Components of the cheaper iPhone are said to be going through validation in the supply chain at the moment and if that is true, it will certainly corroborate earlier rumors that a cheaper iPhone could be launched later in the year.

With Apple typically hosting two main events every year – middle of the year for developers and where new MacBooks and Mac computers are typically announced, and a few months later which is reserved for new iPhone announcements, perhaps this alleged cheaper iPhone could be debuting at either event. Since nothing can be confirmed at the moment, we suggest you take this with a grain of salt, but check back with us in the future as we’ll keep our eyes peeled for more news or evidence that might pop up along the way.
