We were pretty positive this allegedly leaked iPhone 5 chip was not actually an NFC chip. We weren’t sure what it actually was. Now, MacRumors is claiming that, according to RepairLabs, it’s just a boring earpiece speaker. More »

While job listings and rumors might have pointed at Microsoft releasing the Xbox 720 in the not-so-distant future, the console has not been confirmed by the company, leaving many to wonder about its status. Well according to website SemiAccurate, it looks like the Xbox 720 could be delayed as there might be some manufacturing problems with its processor. While the Xbox 360 uses an IBM PowerPC chip, the next-gen Xbox is rumored to be using a chip by AMD that should be rolling off the production lines in December.
The problem is apparently due to the chips not being good enough to pass testing which means that there could be some delay. Many believe that the next-gen Xbox could be unveiled at E3 next year, giving Microsoft a little less than a year to sort it out which hopefully is enough time. Perhaps by “delay” they mean that initial batches released might not be enough to meet the demand, but then again this is a delay of a console that hasn’t even been confirmed yet, so we guess it’s hard to feel disappointed. Either way we’ll take this with a grain of salt and suggest you do the same, but we will be keeping our eyes peeled nonetheless.

New Zelda game for the Nintendo Wii U rumored to be in development, possible 2014 release
Posted in: Today's ChiliAccording to website Wii U Daily, it seems like Nintendo is working on creating the biggest Zelda game ever made for the Wii U console. To be honest this hardly seems like a surprise given that Zelda is one of the more popular titles from Nintendo, and with the Wii U expected to last Nintendo a good few years and to be able to compete with next-gen consoles from Sony and Microsoft, well they certainly need a huge game to capture the attention of the gaming market. HTC Flyer 2 rumored to sport Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 chip and an aluminum anodized body
Posted in: Today's ChiliWhile HTC has been pretty busy releasing new Android smartphones (and possibly upcoming Windows Phone handsets as well), things on the tablet front have been pretty quiet, although a recent report from the folks at PhoneArena has suggested that we could be looking forward to a HTC Flyer 2. While the device has yet to be officially announced, PhoneArena claims that we expect to see a 7” display with a resolution of 1280×768 along with an anodized aluminum body similar to that on the HTC One S.
It will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 chip and will sport a 3MP rear-facing camera, a 1MP front-facing camera and will run on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. No word on pricing or if it will come bundled with a stylus (the stylus on the Flyer was sold separately at its launch), but hopefully the details will be revealed on the 19th of September (which some believe might be Windows Phone related, but we’ll see). If you enjoyed the original HTC Flyer and wouldn’t mind getting your hands on its successor, check back with us on the 19th to see if there are any details to be had about the rumored device.

While the next-gen iPhone announcement has been scheduled for the 12th of September, if the rumors are correct, the iPad mini will be seeing an announcement at a later date instead. In any case with a month to go to that rumored date, seeing more leaks and rumors at this point in time is common, like the latest leak which has revealed the rear shell of the iPad mini. These set of photos were obtained by NetEase and as you can see in the picture above, it sports the smaller dock connector and the grills for the speakers. Of course it’s hard to say if these photos are even legitimate, so we suggest you take them with a grain of salt for now but be sure to check back with us at a later date where hopefully Apple will make an official announcement pertaining to the tablet. In the meantime, what do you guys think? Are we looking at fake components or do you think this could be the real thing?

So Amazon will be holding an event today where presumably they will be showing off new Kindle e-readers and Kindle Fire devices, but according to The Verge’s sources, it seems that we could be in for a surprise. So far Amazon has released Kindle e-readers and the Kindle Fire Android tablet, and many expect that these products will be refreshed later today, so that can hardly be called a surprise. What could prove to be a surprise is the rumor that Amazon could be unveiling an Android smartphone of their own!
As it stands, the phone is reportedly unfinished which means that we could get a glimpse of how it looks like but we’ll probably not be able to try it out. Either that or the phone will be announced but no photos will be available. Word has it that the phone will run on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and is expected Nokia Maps which is an interesting twist. Surprisingly there hasn’t been any word about such a device until today so if it is true, kudos to Amazon for managing to keep a pretty tight lid on things! In any case we’ll find out if these rumors are true in a few hours, so check back with us later for the details!

The Nokia Lumia 820 is fresh on everyone’s minds, and rumors of a 5-inch Android device from HTC are floating around, so why not add a couple more pieces of kindling to the fire? We’ve been handed images of Verizon’s device management system (DMD, for short) showing off a couple new devices: the Nokia Lumia 822 (in Gray and White) and the HTC 6435, which we’ve seen leaked as the potential Galaxy Note competitor. While this doesn’t guarantee a surefire launch in any way, phones typically pop up in the DMD a few weeks prior to launch — and it’s good news for two groups of people: Windows Phone fans anxiously awaiting something fresh on the LTE carrier, and phablet fans looking for a device not called the Intuition.
