Oppo Find 7 Could Feature 5.7″ 2K Display With Snapdragon 805 Chipset [Rumor]
Posted in: Today's ChiliOppo is one of the few brands from China that is actually attempting to sell their products in international markets, such as with the Oppo N1, an Android handset which interestingly enough runs the CyanogenMod ROM as opposed to Oppo slapping their own version of Android on the device. Well if you’re a fan of the company you might be interested to learn that new rumors have surfaced about the company’s upcoming handset, the Oppo Find 7, which is the successor of the Oppo Find 5.
Oppo had initially confirmed the device earlier this year, and according to the specs we heard back then, it would feature a 5” Full HD touchscreen display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset, an 8MP front-facing camera, and a 13MP rear-facing camera. However according to the new rumors, it looks like the Oppo Find 7 will undergo some changes ahead of its release and is now rumored to feature a 5.7” 2,560×1,440 display. It will also be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset and will feature 3GB of RAM and LTE connectivity.
The handset has yet to be released, despite being confirmed so many months back, but we suppose it’s a good thing that they could be upgrading its specs which could put it in competition with 2014’s smartphones.

We’re almost at the end of the year and with that being said, come 2014, there will be a ton of new technology waiting for us, such as smartphones and tablets and computers, and Samsung’s Galaxy S5 is safe to say one of the more highly-anticipated devices. We have heard a bunch of rumors recently and according to the latest one coming out of Korea, courtesy of Korean publication ETNews, word has it that the Samsung Galaxy S5 will have LDS antenna technology. Or at least some Galaxy S5 models. (more…)

Earlier we had reported that Samsung could be working a high-end range of handsets that would fall under its Galaxy F lineup, and coincidentally enough, a certain Samsung SM-G900F has shown up in shipping manifests. Given the earlier Galaxy F rumors, it would seem as though the “F” in the model number is more than a happy coincidence. While it is unclear as to what the SM-G900F could be, the fact that its model number is similar to the earlier reported SM-G900S, save for the last letter, it has been speculated that this could be another variant of the Samsung Galaxy S5, perhaps a more high-end version.
According to the folks at SamMobile, they are speculating that perhaps the SM-G900S could be the faux leather Galaxy S5, while the SM-G900F could be the higher-end metal version of the Galaxy S5 whose alleged metallic frame was leaked not too long ago. However like we said this is purely speculation at this point in time, and for all we know the SM-G900F could be the same Galaxy S5 device, just destined for a different market, just like how the major carriers in the US have different model names for the same device. In the meantime what do you guys think? Could we be looking at higher and lower-end Galaxy S5 handsets, like what Apple did with the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c?

For those of you who follow the world of mobile news, you would most probably have heard of the name of Eldar Murtazin before. Eldar Murtazin happens to have a pretty wide network of contacts whom, from time to time, do furnish him with all sorts of delicious titbits and news concerning upcoming devices, especially in the world of smartphones and tablets. In fact, one of his most recent forays touched on the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S5 which is touted to arrive sometime in the first quarter of next year, which frankly, is not to far away – 5 months, tops.
Eldar Murtazin claims that the Samsung Galaxy S5 will skip the Q1 2014 release, but rather, it has been scheduled for launch in late April 2014, as we brought you word about that. Apart from that, there is also a glimmer of hope for the allegedly ultra high-end Samsung Galaxy F Series. When asked to talk about this unique F Series, Mr. Murtazin did offer his very own confirmation that such a device happens to be in the pipeline, but considering how Samsung did not begin to show it off to mobile carriers, it might not arrive so soon next year. Well, better late than never, don’t you think so?

Back in September, Apple announced both the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c, and also revealed that both phones would come with optional official cases of their own. The iPhone 5s got the leather case while the iPhone 5c got a weird polka dot case which has since been poked fun at and even compared to a food grater. Well it turns out that the iPhone 5s nearly got the same treatment, at least according to Michael Andrew who claims that on his blog that one of his sources had passed him a prototype case for the iPhone 5s which basically looks like the case pictured above.
If you’re wondering why it looks like the iPhone 5c’s case, it’s because it is, albeit with some changes in the dots on the back. According to Andrew, these cases were apparently used universally in Apple until they decided to scrap it for the iPhone 5s and went for the more “premium” leather case instead, which we’re sure many iPhone 5s users out there are grateful for. The prototype never made it to production but it was in its final stages. Of course there’s no telling if this is the actual case and if this is true at all, but either way true or not, how many of you guys are relieved that Apple didn’t go this route with the iPhone 5s?

According to the rumors, Q1 of 2014 looks to be a pretty busy time of the year for Samsung. So far we have learnt that the South Korean tech giant will be planning on announcing the Galaxy S5, Galaxy Grand Lite, and the Galaxy Note 3 Lite in the early part of the year, but now according to South Korean publication, ETNews, Samsung will have 5 devices to debut at the start of the year. Three of the devices have already been mentioned, and with the remaining two said to be entry-mid-level devices. Unfortunately apart from the rumors and alleged leaked specifications of the Galaxy S5, Galaxy Grand Lite, and Galaxy Note 3 Lite, not much else is known about the remaining two handsets.
If there is an opportunity for Samsung to announce these devices, chances are we could be looking at CES 2014 or MWC 2014. However Samsung has typically preferred to announce its flagship devices at their own events, so chances are that CES and MWC are probably our best bet to learn about the other devices. Obviously since nothing has been confirmed yet, do take it with a grain of salt for now, but if they are true, exciting times are just around the corner.

The Next Web is reporting that Google is working on plans to offer up Chrome apps, usually found on the desktop, to the mobile ecosystems of iOS and Android.
We have heard rumors of the Samsung Galaxy S5 and that it could feature a metal body. In fact it wasn’t too long ago that a photo was leaked that was allegedly that of the Galaxy S5’s metallic frame. Of course we have also heard the rumors that the Galaxy S5 will take design cues from the Galaxy Note 3 by featuring a plastic body and a faux leather back.
According to a new report, it seems that it is more or less “confirmed” that the Galaxy S5 will feature a metal construction, making this the first Galaxy S device from Samsung to step away from the use of plastics which some have deemed to be considered “cheap”. (more…)

In terms of wearable electronics, Nike has some experience in that area. After all the company has released not just one, but two wearable electronic devices in the form of the FuelBand and the FuelBand SE, but it seems that merely providing wearers with fitness statistics isn’t enough as rumors are suggesting that Nike might have a smartwatch in the works as well. This is according to the folks at DigiTimes who claims that Nike is reportedly doing a trial production run of their smartwatch which they believe will launch in the first half of 2014.
It is unclear if this is truly a smartwatch, or if it might be another FuelBand update. After all apart from some new features such as Bluetooth 4.0 LE support and water resistance, the FuelBand SE was essentially the same device as the FuelBand, so perhaps 2014’s version could be an even large overhaul. In any case it is also unknown if this alleged device will be compatible with Android devices. Nike has stated in the past that the reason the FuelBand fitness tracker is not available for Android is due to the lack of Bluetooth 4.0 LE. While some Android devices do come with Bluetooth 4.0 LE, it is not as widespread. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more info.
