Samsung Galaxy Grand Lite Reportedly In The Works

Samsung Galaxy Grand Lite Reportedly In The WorksIt was only last week that Samsung announced the Galaxy Grand 2, the successor to last year’s Galaxy Grand handset, but it looks like that might not be all as Samsung has a Galaxy Grand Lite as well, at least according to sources who tipped off the folks at SamMobile. According to them, the Galaxy Grand Lite will be making its debut at MWC 2014 which will be taking place in February next year, so if you want to know more about the device, be sure to check back with us then for the details. In the meantime according to the rumors, the handset is expected to feature somewhat similar specs to the Galaxy Grand 2.

Some of the rumored specs include a 5” WVGA display, a 1.2GHz quad-core chipset with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of onboard storage with microSD card support for memory expansion, and a 2,100mAh battery. It is also expected to feature a 5MP rear-facing camera and a VGA front-facing camera, and oddly enough it will come with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean on board. We would have at least expected Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, although Android 4.4 KitKat would be ideal, but hopefully the handset will see an update to Android 4.3 upon its release. No word on pricing or availability just yet, so take it with a grain of salt and be sure to check back with us during MWC next year for the details!

    Huawei G750 Leaked

Huawei G750 LeakedHuawei, a company that is known for its networking devices as well as slew of smartphones in recent times, just had another smartphone leaked out – namely the Huawei G750. This particular device had its photos leaked, and it does seem as though this handset will run on the MediaTek MT6592 processor, which has been touted to be the first “true” octa-core processor, where all eight cores are able to be active simultaneously, now how about that? Who knows, the Huawei G750 could very well be the exact same device that is known as the Huawei Glory 4, which is also touted to feature the very same MT6592 processor within.

According to MediaTek, this particular chipset is said to consume a whole lot less battery power in comparison to most of the quad-core processors that are found in other high end models today. Other hardware specifications of the Huawei G750 would include a 5.5” display at 720 x 1280 resolution, so no Full HD there if you were wondering. Still, perhaps news of 2GB RAM and 32GB of internal memory would help it look favorable in your eyes, not to mention a front-facing camera of 5-megapixels and a back shooter of 13-megapixels, in addition to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean as the operating system of choice.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Might Not Have OIS After All [Rumor]

Samsung Galaxy S5 Might Not Have OIS After All [Rumor]It was just recently when the alleged specs of the Samsung Galaxy S5 was leaked and according to the rumors, one of the alleged features of the upcoming device is a 16MP camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) on board. However as it turns out, a rumor from ETNews, it has been suggested that perhaps the Samsung Galaxy S5’s camera might not come with OIS after all. Apparently this is due to Samsung unable to get all the necessary components in time, which means that OIS for the Galaxy S5 will be omitted and instead be reserved for Samsung’s devices later in 2014, presumably the Galaxy Note 4 as being one of them.

Other alleged specs include a 64-bit Samsung Exynos chipset or a Snapdragon chipset from Qualcomm. It is also rumored to feature 3GB of RAM, a 4,000mAh battery, and will most likely come with Android 4.4 KitKat on board. We have also heard how it might be possible that the phone could sport a metal casing. The Samsung Galaxy S5 is rumored to go into production in January 2014 and is expected to see a release in March 2014, meaning that there is a good chance the handset will make its debut at CES 2014 or MWC 2014 (although we think the latter will be more likely).

Upcoming GTA 5 DLC Could Feature Casinos, Dirt Racing, And Shark Shooting [Rumor]

The last we heard about Rockstar’s GTA 5 was that they were preparing something exciting in an update for a game, but unfortunately apart from that teaser, not much else is known. At least until recently where audio files allegedly found in the GTA Online Beach Bum update has some speculating that some of the upcoming features could include a new casino in Los Santos, dirt racing, and even shark shooting which we’re sure PETA will most probably take offense to. There could also missions where the player will have to pay off their debt to Madrazo, a character from the main story, by performing missions for him.

Like we said earlier, the details of the upcoming GTA 5 update remains unknown, but assuming that these audio files are legit, perhaps these are some of the updates we can expect. Of course there’s no telling if these updates are for GTA 5 or for GTA Online, but either way it does sound like something worth looking forward to. For those curious about the audio files, you can take a listen to them in the video embedded above, but until we hear from Rockstar officially, try not to get your hopes up just yet!

Possible Super Smash Bros. Release Date Hinted By GameStop

Possible Super Smash Bros. Release Date Hinted By GameStopNintendo’s upcoming Super Smash Bros. is slated to arrive on the Nintendo 3DS and the Nintendo Wii U come 2014, although at the moment no specific dates have been revealed yet, at least until recently when GameStop updated their database and revealed a possible release date which has been set for the 8th of April 2014 for both the 3DS and the Wii U console. We’re not sure if GameStop is speculating on a release date, or if they knew something and might have accidentally let the cat out of the bag a little earlier than expected.

The Spike TV VGX is expected to take place early December and for all we know, perhaps that could be a platform in which Nintendo will use to announce the release dates. If that is the case, it is not entirely out of the question if Nintendo might have given several retailers the heads up before hand, perhaps to allow them to prep their pre-order pages before the official information has been shared with the public. In any case Super Smash Bros. is one of the titles many gamers are looking forward to in the Wii U, which has been criticized for having a lack of triple A titles, at least compared to other consoles. We suggest you not get your hopes up just yet, but check back with us during the Spike TV VGX for the details!

Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare Headed To PS4, Xbox 360 [Rumor]

Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare Headed To PS4, Xbox 360 [Rumor]

Earlier this year, PopCap Games announced two new titles would be making their way to the Xbox One prior to releasing them on any other platform. Peggle 2 and Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare will be launching on the Xbox One first, but up until now, we didn’t know where exactly either game would land once they were made available on Microsoft’s next-gen gaming system. In the case of Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, it looks like the title will be making its way to the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 4 some time after its initial release on the Xbox One. (more…)

Sony And Hasselblad Rumored To Have Worked On A New Sensor Together

Sony And Hasselblad Rumored To Have Worked On A New Sensor TogetherIf you’re a fan of cameras, then brands such as Sony and Hasselblad might come to mind, although in the case of the latter, their cameras are usually priced beyond the means of regular photographers. Sony and Hasselblad have worked together before which resulted in Hasselblad essentially adding luxury touches to NEX cameras, such as the Hasselblad Lunar and the Hasselblad Stellar, but according to Sony Alpha Rumors, it seems as though Sony and Hasselblad are expected to make an joint announcement in the near future about an upcoming sensor which might make its debut in 2014.

Assuming this is true, this will definitely go beyond what Hasselblad has done for Sony’s cameras in the past. According to the rumor, this new sensor is expected to provide every pixel with a different shutter time, although it is unclear how this will be achieved. What this also means is that the resulting photos will have a very large dynamic range and if this is true, this is definitely worth looking forward to! Not much else is known, such as which cameras will be the first to take advantage of this new sensor, or when we might be able to expect such devices, but with CES 2014 nearly upon us, perhaps we might hear something about it then.

4K Thunderbolt Displays Reportedly In The Works

4K Thunderbolt Displays Reportedly In The WorksBack in 2011, Apple unveiled their new Thunderbolt display but fast forward to today, Apple has yet to make any changes or upgrades, namely in the 4K variety which is odd considering that the Cupertino company’s upcoming Mac Pro computers will come with the ability to support up to three 4K displays at once. Perhaps something could be in the works, according to a post on Reddit where a poster claims that Taiwanese manufacturer, AUO, has begun the manufacturing of display panels with 4K resolution at both 27” and 32” varieties.

According to the poster, “These are the first 4k (well QFHD/UHD) panels manufactured using DisplayPort signaling, which all Apple LCD displays use and is fully compatible with Thunderbolt without any additional signal processing. I’d expect these to release as the Apple Thunderbolt 2 displays along with the release of the new Mac Pro.” AUO has supplied to Apple in the past, such as with the first iPad mini although the contract reportedly ended as AUO could not produce enough on time. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but who else is looking forward to 4K Thunderbolt displays? More importantly, how much will these bad boys cost?

Microsoft Rumored To Be Interested In Acquiring Deezer

Microsoft Rumored To Be Interested In Acquiring DeezerIt seems that shortly after Paris-based music streaming service, Deezer, announced that they would be expanding to US markets come 2014, a new rumor has surfaced suggesting that Microsoft could be interested in acquiring the company for themselves. As it stands Deezer has about 5 million paid subscribers which isn’t too far behind Spotify’s 7 million paid subscribers, that and the fact that the company has been successful in negotiating deals with mobile companies, such as LG, Samsung, and Toshiba, should say something about their reputation.

The rumors are saying that if Deezer hopes to have a strong launch in the US, they would need to team up with a strong company with reach, and Microsoft is one of those companies. In fact teaming up with Microsoft could make sense as it would allow Deezer to possibly integrate into Microsoft’s products, such as the Windows platform (maybe even Windows Phone?) and even the Xbox platform. This will allow Deezer to compete with the likes of Spotify while providing Microsoft with a streaming music service of their own without having to start from scratch. This rumor is particularly interesting, especially since we have also heard that Microsoft could be interested in Winamp and SHOUTcast as well, another media platform albeit not exactly the same as Deezer.

What do you guys make of this? Does this sound like a good idea for Microsoft and Deezer?
