Instagram Rumored To Be Adding Private Messaging Feature

Instagram Rumored To Be Adding Private Messaging FeatureWe have heard the rumors that Facebook had at one point in time attempted to bid on Snapchat for a cool $3 billion, which the creators of the app decided to turn down, and even turned down Google’s reported $4 billion bid attempt as they felt that they were worth a lot more. Well according to a report from GigaOm, they are reporting that Instagram could be getting instant messaging features, similar to what Snapchat is doing at the moment. It’s kind of like, if you can’t beat them, join them! After all Instagram had added video capture to the app in a bid to compete with the likes of Twitter’s Vine, so this would not be unprecedented.

GigaOm reports that this feature would allegedly be introduced to the app in a major update scheduled for release by the end of the year. As it stands there is no way to message someone on Instagram privately, and the only way to get their attention would be to either tag them or mention them in your comments. This alleged private messaging feature of Instagram is said to offer one-on-one messaging, as well as group messaging. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but what do you guys think of this feature making its way onto Instagram? Yay or nay?

Microsoft Looking To Buy Winamp And SHOUTcast From AOL [Rumor]

Microsoft Looking To Buy Winamp And SHOUTcast From AOL [Rumor]Last we heard, Winamp would be closing its doors after being more than 15 years in existence, and if you have ever used one of those early Intel Pentium computers back in the day, well this is undoubtedly pretty sad news, an end of an era, so to speak.  Well it turns out that perhaps Winamp might not be completely dead after all, at least according to the folks at TechCrunch who are reporting on a rumor that it is possible that Microsoft is looking to acquire both Winamp and SHOUTcast from AOL, although the reasoning behind it is unclear. It is possible that Winamp and SHOUTcast both have patents that Microsoft could license out.

For those unfamiliar, SHOUTcast is also a media too developed by Nullsoft, the folks behind Winamp originally. It was a piece of software that allowed cross platform proprietary streaming, although given the popularity of other streaming services, such as Pandora, iTunes Radio, Spotify, and etc., we’re not sure if the platform still has what it takes to compete in today’s market. In any case like we said, this is only a rumor for now so be sure to take it with a grain of salt, but hypothetically speaking, what could Microsoft want with Winamp and SHOUTcast?

iPhone 6 Prototype With 4.9 Inch Screen Being Tested [Rumor]

Rumors of an iPhone with a large display have been circulation for months now, the last coming out around September. It seems the rumor mill is spinning once again as Chinese site C Technology believes Apple is currently working on an iPhone prototype that has a 4.9-inch display.

C Technology received an insider tip revealing the large-screen iPhone is currently in the prototype stage, which they believe both the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c will receive a bump in their display size some time next year. Nintendo Rumored To Develop Educational Android Tablet

Nintendo Rumored To Develop Educational Android TabletThe house of Nintendo has kept generations entertained, where they really entered mainstream consciousness via the Nintendo Entertainment System back in the 1980s, while the SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Wii, and Wii U have continued the trend of solid console gaming with titles that are now staples of folklore, including the Mario and Zelda franchises. Hence, it is rather surprising to hear that Nintendo could actually venture into the tablet territory, with Android as the operating system of choice. So far, such rumors have already started to circulate, where Nintendo is said to be testing out its very own Android-based tablet, albeit it will come in a completely customized format, of course.

You will be unable to enjoy the company of Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Smash Bros, or Mario Kart on this tablet, since it has been worked on to train its crosshairs on the educational segment, although do expect the edutainment titles to feature characters that are extremely famous in their own right. Nintendo has declined to comment on this rumor since it is never their policy to do so, but we do know that Nintendo of America software engineer Nando Monterazo was the one who released this information on Twitter (which has since been deleted, of course).

12.9-Inch iPad To Arrive Early Next Year, Says First Tier Display Supplier

12.9 Inch iPad To Arrive Early Next Year, Says First Tier Display SupplierIt was sometime last week when we brought you word that there is a possibility of Apple working on a new iPad which will feature a larger display – that is, 12.9” in size. Well, that has remained a rumor even until now, but it does seem that other rumors have come together to add more weight to the situation. The Korea Times has reported that a “first-tier display supplier” is currently working on 12.9-inch Retina displays which will eventually see action on an iPad. This particular 12.9” iPad was also tipped for an early 2014 rollout.

The Korea Times did refer to an official at one of Apple’s Korean suppliers for this particular snippet of information. From history, we do know that the more famous partners in this part of the world happen to be LG Display or Samsung, so who knows – either one of them has the capability to handle the mass manufacturing of a 12.9” iPad. According to the very same “first-tier display supplier”, the new and larger iPad will feature a better image quality that will be comparable to “ultra high-definition” displays, so could we see something that is better for the eyes compared to what can be enjoyed on the iPad Air or iPad mini with Retina display at the moment?

Amazon.fr Listing Points To Crash Bandicoot For PS4 (Rumor)

Amazon.fr Listing Points To Crash Bandicoot For PS4 (Rumor)We did read about how Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition could be making its way to the PS4 as well as the Xbox One sometime next year, thanks to a listing on Amazon Italy late yesterday evening. How about other games that could eventually end up on next generation consoles in the near future? The answer would be “perhaps”, as Amazon France has a listing which points to the possibility of a new Crash Bandicoot title that will appear over on the Sony PS4.

What you see above happens to be a screen capture of a product listing that was spotted over on Amazon France. Now, it would certainly raise hopes for folks who have been looking out for a new Crash Bandicoot title after all these years. Do bear in mind that this leak remains unconfirmed, and we do hope to find out whether it is a fake or not sooner rather than later. For what it is worth, there is an image of a Crash Bandicoot game for PS4 shown off, so we will leave it to you to arrive at your very own conclusion. While no release date was listed, the final sticker price happened to be shown at 69.99 EUR.
