According to the WSJ, Hulu is apparently in talks with ‘several pay-TV providers’ to become part of their pay-TV bundles in the future.

As you guys might have heard, Apple will be opening an advanced sapphire manufacturing plant over in Mesa, Arizona where they expect to bring some production work from overseas back home. However it looks like it will be more than that because according to a new report from the Albany Times Union, they claim that Apple will also be looking to bring back chip production back to the US as well, and will be opening a $6 billion facility in upstate New York, with California-based company, GlobalFoundries, to be the one behind the operations.
This move isn’t all too surprising given that Apple has been reported to be looking to reduce their reliance on Samsung for components, given that both companies have been embroiled in a legal battle for the past few years. However rather interestingly the report claims that Samsung will be playing a hand in the launch of the fabrication facility, and will be lending Apple and GlobalFoundries their knowledge and experience when it comes to making chips, especially given that Samsung has been making Apple’s A-series of chips for a while now. Naturally Apple has yet to confirm this piece of news yet, so take it with a grain of salt for now.

We have been hearing rumors about a possible successor to the current Canon EOS 7D since back in 2012 where it was rumored for an announcement earlier this year. Safe to say that did not happen but according to the folks at Canon Rumors, they have been tipped off that the EOS 7D MK II’s announcement will be taking place in 2014 instead. As it stands the exact dates of the camera’s launch remains unknown for now, but apparently it should be taking place in the first half of 2014. Given that 2012’s rumor seemed pretty certain of a 2013 launch, we suggest you take this with a grain of salt for now and perhaps try not to get your hopes up just yet.
According to a previously leaked spec sheet, the EOS 7D MK II is said to feature either a 20MP or 24MP sensor with a Dual Pixel CMOS AF system. The AF system is said to be similar to the EOS 5D MK III with 61-points, burst shooting at 10-12fps, high-grade weather sealing, a Dual DIGIC V+ processor, WiFI and GPS connectivity, and will come in a new design that is akin to the EOS 1’s body. As far as pricing is concerned, word has it that the camera should be priced around the $2,000 mark.

Remember that day we reported on a list of Nokia codenames that had been leaked? Well according to new rumors, at least some of the devices might turn out to be true and they might be the Nokia Lumia 1820 (alleged render pictured above) and the Nokia Lumia 2020, although at this point in time we’re not sure what codenames these devices correspond with. This is according to the folks at NokiaPowerUser who claim to have gotten a tip on the upcoming devices, with the Lumia 1820 reportedly featuring a metal unibody (could this be the Spinel?) with a Lytro-like camera, while the Lumia 2020 is an 8” tablet that will trump the Lumia 2520 that was announced not too long ago.
According to them, the “Lumia 2020 will be the name of Nokia’s rumored 8-inch Tablet. This Tablet will run on Snapdragon 800 and will have a 1080p resolution display. It will be faster and have higher PPI display than Lumia 2520 and will come with stylus support. This Tablet and Nokia’s next imaging flagship Lumia 1820 with metal unibody and Lytro-style camera will be unveiled during MWC in 2014.” In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but if the Lytro-like camera on the Lumia 1820 is true, it could be a pretty interesting device to look forward to. Last we heard, the Canon EOS M’s successor was rumored to be announced “soon”, although the term “soon” can hardly be used to describe the latest rumor, which suggests that the EOS M’s successor will most likely only see an announcement in 2014. With CES 2014 taking place early next year, that is a viable platform for the camera’s announcement, if not we guess we will have to wait for a separate Canon event or wait for the press release if Canon decides the successor is not worthy of an event of its own.
Not much is known about the EOS M’s specs, other than what the rumors are saying, which is that it will not be too big of a departure from the current-gen EOS m. However it is rumored to be slightly smaller and is said to provide a slightly better AF experience, so if you think the current EOS M could do with a better AF system (our review found the auto-focus slow), hopefully its successor will not disappoint. The next-gen EOS M is also said to feature a 20MP sensor taken from recently announced EOS 70D. In any case take all of this with a grain of salt for now, but what do you guys make of these alleged changes/improvements? Are there additional features you’d like to see in the next-gen EOS M?

I think at this point we can pretty safely say that BlackBerry’s BB 10 relaunch was a bit of a disaster for the once-mighty Canadian smartphone makers. I mean, you don’t give your CEO the boot for nothing right? And it now seems the company is ready to fully capitulate to its Android rival.

Earlier this year, HTC announced the HTC One which was an interesting device with an interesting camera that defied marketing convention, instead opting for “ultrapixels” instead of the standard megapixel fare. While the handset proved to be more than capable of holding its own and was met with favorable reviews, delays of its launch put a stain on the otherwise stellar device, but let’s hope the same will not happen with its successor. Some of you guys might have heard about the rumored HTC M8, the alleged successor of the HTC One.
Well according to @evleaks, who has been pretty damn reliable when it comes to these sorts of things, it seems that the HTC M8 is expected to make its way onto all of the major carriers (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile) in the US by the end of Q1 2014, suggesting that a launch of the handset could be taking place early in the year. As it stands in the early part of the year, we have both CES and MWC to look forward to, and both plausible platforms for HTC to make an announcement, but either way take it with a grain of salt for now, but we’ll definitely be keeping our eyes peeled for more info. In the meantime who else is excited to see what the HTC One’s successor has in store for us?
