We’ve been hearing reports that Nokia will add the Lumia 929—a 5-inch 1080p device—to its growing fleet
A few rumors suggested Google might be planning an 8-inch Nexus tablet earlier this year, but nothing came of it. We got the new Nexus 7 and were happy about it. However, this pic may show the next slightly bigger thing being used by a Google promotional person. Nexus 8, anyone?
Is Tizen dead? Perhaps not, although the platform and its accompanying hardware have yet to see the light of day, at least as far as Samsung is concerned. We had originally heard that Samsung’s first Tizen smartphones were due for a launch in Q3 2013 but that has obviously not happened, and last we heard, Samsung’s CEO had apparently delayed the release on purpose so as to create an operating system whose experience would be an amazing one. In any case according to recent rumors, chances of seeing a Samsung Tizen device in 2013 would be unlikely as it would seem that Samsung has since delayed the operating system (again) and will see a launch in 2014 instead.
While it is understandable and greatly appreciated by many that Samsung would be willing to delay the platform to create the best experience possible, just like how game developers delay games to iron out all the kinks, the practice might not be so applicable for smartphones. Platforms such as Windows Phone are slowly gaining market share and with new platforms such as Sailfish and Mozilla’s Firefox OS entering the market, a delay would just mean that Samsung would be late to party with customers having already committed themselves to another platform. What do you guys think? Is Samsung making a mistake by delaying Tizen yet again?

Last we heard, there were rumors that the iPad mini with Retina display’s shortage could potentially be attributed to Sharp whose low production yields was one of the reasons the tablet has yet to be launched, much to the disappointment of many would-be iPad mini customers out there. We had also heard that LG and Sharp were two of the suppliers that Apple used for the iPad mini with Retina display, but now we are hearing that in a bid to combat possible delays and shortages and to bring production up to speed, Apple will be turning to their rival, Samsung, to help manufacture the displays for its iPad mini.
Samsung has in the past provided Apple with display panels for its products, and successfully too, but due to the ongoing lawsuit between both companies, Apple has been said to be looking to reduce their reliance on the South Korean tech giant, instead turning to other manufacturers instead, or at least giving existing manufacturing partners more orders, and in this case we guess Apple turned to both LG and Sharp. There’s no telling if Apple turning to Samsung will be able to ease the shortages and improve production yield, but given Samsung’s size, there is no doubt that they will be able to deliver.

According to a rumor we heard back in September, an announcement for a new Canon EOS M camera was coming soon, but so far we haven’t heard anything, at least until a new rumor from Canon Rumors that claims that an event will be held by a major retailer on the 10th of November. According to the report, when asked about whether there will be new Canon products, the retailer couldn’t share anything other than the fact that Canon folks will definitely be interested, but apart from that not much else is known.
It is not uncommon for major retailers to get the low-down on upcoming products, and they are usually bound by NDA to prevent information from being leaked ahead of schedule, so with them not actually denying that there will be new Canon products is definitely worth taking note of. Canon Rumors claim that there should not be any new EOS DSLR cameras for the remainder of 2013, suggesting that perhaps the EOS M successor’s announcement is one we can look forward to. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but check back with us in the near future for the updates.

CBS is reporting that Google’s barge will "feature luxury showrooms and a party deck" for the search giant to show off projects coming out of Google X to special, invite-only clients.
This phone here appears to be yet another miniature version of a popular full size model, with official filings revealing something we suspect might end up being known as the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active Mini. Could do with a smaller name, too.
We have heard the rumors that BlackBerry could be gearing up to launch a Porsche version of the BlackBerry Z10, which could be known as the Porsche P’9882, the successor to Porsche P’9881 that was unveiled a couple of years ago. We have seen photos leaked but to date there has not been an official announcement and we’re not sure why, which we found rather odd given that there was a series of leaks and rumors but suddenly it all stopped. Well apparently during a recent event that was held at the Dubai Mall with Mercedes F1 driver, Lewis Hamilton, information about the device was leaked and word on the street has it that BlackBerry could be holding another event on the 20th of November at which the Porsche P’9882 will be launched.
While the specs of the device are merely rumored and speculated, word has it that it will be more or less the BlackBerry Z10 albeit with a different look and theme that will be in line with Porsche Design. In any case we’ll definitely be keeping our eyes and ears peeled for more information regarding the P’9882, but for those interested, expect to pay at least $2,000 for it because that’s how much its predecessor cost and we don’t expect the P’9882 to cost any less either.

Back in 2012 when the Nexus 4 launched, T-Mobile managed to offer the handset on the same day itself. Will history repeat itself with the upcoming Nexus 5? Well according to one Reddit user who spoke to a T-Mobile employee, it seems that might be the case, with the employee being pretty confident about the handset’s launch on the carrier the same day Google releases it to the public, meaning that there won’t be any delay. Of course the T-Mobile employee could simply be basing this on last year’s launch so do take it with a grain of salt for now and try not to get your hopes up just yet, but we’ll definitely keep our eyes and ears peeled for more info.
The Nexus 5 is expected to launch across the major carriers, with Sprint’s version of the handset being recently rumored. While the rumors claim a 1st of November launch, other sources have suggested that the handset will see an announcement on a 5th of November event held in Tel-Aviv, but like we said earlier, take it all with a grain of salt for now, but given that the 1st of November and the 5th of November are only days away, we guess we won’t have to wait much longer to see if the rumors pan out, so be sure to check back with us then for the details!
