Lenovo Yoga Tablet Will Reportedly Be Worlds Thinnest, To Launch Next Month

Lenovo is reportedly going to launch a new tablet next month. Called the Yoga tablet, apparently it will be thinnest tablet in the world. Not much is known about the tablet at this point in time, this is actually the first time that there’s been any indication of Lenovo working on such a tablet. The revelation was reportedly made by a Lenovo VP, Chen Xu Dong, on Sina Weibo, which is China’s equivalent of the popular microblogging network Twitter.

Dong apparently said that the tablet will “revolutionize” the tablet market. It is said to have two small stands on the sides which will set it apart from the competition. No details about the specifications have been provided, though it is said to be powered by an Intel Bay Trail processor. The OS hasn’t been confirmed. The Yoga tablet is also said to have the “longest” standby time. Lenovo hasn’t confirmed as yet if and when the tablet will be released. It remains to be seen when the tablet will make its way to North America, if it is indeed announced and officially launched next month, that is. The company hasn’t said exactly when the announcement will be made next month. [Image via CNMO]

Sony Rumored To Introduce “PRO Service” For Photographers

Sony Rumored To Introduce PRO Service For PhotographersThere is a lot of competition these days in the camera industry, what with companies such as Sony, Nikon, Canon, Olympus, Pentax, and etc. all fighting for market share and control. While having great products is one way to attract customers over to your side of the fence, great customer service is another one. After all no one likes the idea of having bad after-sales support right after dropping few thousand on new cameras and lenses, right? Well according to the folks at Sony Alpha Rumors, that’s exactly what Sony has planned.

According to one of their trusted sources, they claim that Sony could be gearing up to launch a “PRO Service” in the near future. This service will be aimed at photographers and Sony camera owners and could offer up services such as a faster repair service, for example. It would also come with a hotline that photographers can reach Sony at if anything goes wrong with their camera. The exact details of the “PRO Service” remain unknown at this point in time, or if it is even true for that matter, but the idea behind it is to make the switch to Sony an easier and more pleasant one. What do you guys think? Will offering up better support make it an incentive for photographers to switch camera brands?

Microsoft’s Cortana Voice Assistant To Have Always-on Feature Like The Moto X [Rumor]

Microsofts Cortana Voice Assistant To Have Always on Feature Like The Moto X [Rumor]We have been hearing rumors that Microsoft could introduce a new voice assistant feature in their upcoming Windows Phone 8.1 update called Cortana, named after one of the characters from their Halo video game franchise. Not much is known about the voice assistant, at least until Chinese website CTechcn came forward with some new information about the upcoming feature. According to them, Cortana will be similar to the Moto X and how it will have an always-on feature, meaning that it will always be listening for your voice compared to Siri where you will have to activate it in order to use it.

Cortana has also been said to be able to unlock your phone using just your voice, and if you thought that was a little dangerous, fret not as it will be unique to your voice, meaning that if someone else tried to unlock it with their voice, it would not work. Cortana is also expected to be open to developers so that they can integrate it with their apps which would be interesting, especially given that other voice assistants such as Siri remain closed to developers. In any case word has it that the feature is in the final testing phase so hopefully it will be done in time to ship with the Windows Phone 8.1 update.

GTA Online Believed To Receive Microtranscations Treatment [Rumor]

GTA Online Believed To Receive Microtranscations Treatment [Rumor]

Just the other day, we reported on a rumor Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto 5 could possibly be jumping onto the microtransaction bandwagon in the near future. The rumor originated from someone on Reddit who happened to stumble onto the game requesting an XML file hosted on Rockstar’s site when attempting to access the store section in the game’s pause menu. It looks like if Rockstar Games is planning on offering microtransaction within Grand Theft Auto 5, it’ll be doing so once Grand Theft Auto Online launches.

The images Reddit user 1880 found look to offer in-game credit that range from $100,000 all the way up to $1.25 million in-game cash. In addition to those images, the following description was also found in the XML file:

“Cash is king in this town. Solve your money problems and help get what you want across Los Santos and Blaine County with the purchase of cash packs for Grand Theft Auto Online. All purchased cash is automatically deposited into your character’s bank account. Spend wisely, cash therapy is fleeting.”

At this point, Rockstar isn’t commenting on this recent discovery, although if Rockstar plans on making microtransactions possible in Grand Theft Auto Online, we’re sure they’ll make their announcement closer to its launch, which will take place on October 1.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Active Rumored For Announcement Next Month

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Active Rumored For Announcement Next MonthWe have been hearing rumors the past few days that Samsung could be looking to introduce a new smartphone in the near future, one with a flexible display, or one with a curved display, although the former is a rumor while the latter was alleged confirmed by Samsung executives. In any case now a new rumor has surfaced and they are claiming that the phone Samsung could be launching could be that of the Galaxy Note 3 Active. For those unfamiliar, Samsung released the Galaxy S4 Active not too long which was essentially the Galaxy S4 but with water and dustproof features, so presumably this is what will happen with the Galaxy Note 3 Active.

The specifications of the alleged Galaxy Note 3 Active remain unknown, but presumably it will not be too different from the Galaxy Note 3 and could sport a 5.7” Full HD display, a quad-core chipset (either Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 or Samsung’s own Exynos 5420), a 13MP rear-facing camera, and will run on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but if you were thinking of getting the Galaxy Note 3 but would have preferred if it were water and dustproof, you might want to hold off a bit just to see if the rumors pan out.

Samsung Rumored To Be Working On Premium Smartphone Line Called Project F

Samsung Rumored To Be Working On Premium Smartphone Line Called Project FIt was earlier that we reported on the rumor that the Samsung Galaxy S5 could feature a metal body and while this could be pretty exciting news for users looking forward to the device come 2014, it turns out that it could be larger than we thought. According to Korean media outlets, this alleged metal Galaxy S5 will be part of the South Korean tech giant’s new premium lineup of smartphones that has been dubbed “Project F”. We’re not sure if the Galaxy S5 will be the only device, or if future premium devices will be part of the lineup, such as the Galaxy Note 4, for example.

According to the alleged specifications, Project F devices could have display sizes ranging between 4.5” to 5.5”, and would eventually incorporate flexible displays, Exynos octa-core processors (presumably the 64-bit ones Samsung is working on), and cameras with built-in optical image stabilization technology. In any case these smartphones are starting to sound like pretty impressive devices but of course rumors being rumors, there’s no telling if any of this is true, but what do you guys think? Are you excited about Samsung’s Project F?

    Alleged Surface Mini Specs Revealed

Alleged Surface Mini Specs RevealedJust the other day Microsoft took the wraps off their new Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2 tablets, but interesting enough the company did not make any mention about the possibility of a Surface Mini, a device which has been rumored for a while now but not mentioned at all by Microsoft during their presentation. It is possible that the Surface Mini could merely be a fake and a false rumor, but at the same time it could be that the device is not primed for launch yet which is why Microsoft has kept mum on the details.

In any case thanks to new information obtained by CNET, some of the alleged Surface Mini specs have surfaced. According to them, the device will feature a 7.5” display with an aspect ratio of 4:3 and a resolution of 1400×1050. It will run on Window RT and could feature 3G/4G connectivity, just like the new Surface tablets thanks to an LTE SKU that has been planned for release in 2014. No release date has been given, but the tablet is expected to begin production in Q1 of 2014, so it is possible that we could see a launch in the later part of next year. The price has also been tentatively set below $449, which hopefully will make it a more appealing and affordable tablet. Take it with a grain of salt for now, but what do you guys think of a smaller Microsoft Surface tablet?
