Torchlight 2 for Mac still a couple of months away

It was just last week that Runic Games officially released their highly anticipated Torchlight 2 RPG for Windows. Unfortunately for Mac OS gamers, if Torchlight 2 is a game you would love to play on your computer and don’t want to have to shell out money for Boot Camp and Windows, it looks like you will be in for a wait. According to Runic Games’ CEO, Max Schaefer (via Reddit), he revealed that the Mac OS version of Torchlight 2 is on the agenda of things to do, but unfortunately it is still a couple of months away from being completed at the very least. This is pretty disappointing news for Mac OS gamers who were hoping to get their hands on the game in a timely manner, but we guess better late than never, right? In the meantime, it seems that gamers who use the Linux platform have not been forgotten too and support for Linux will be added in the future. Until then, gamers on Windows who have forgotten about the release will be able to get their hands on it via Steam or on the Torchlight 2 website.

Torchlight 2 developers sign off on Act 2, still has some way to go

RPG gamers, if you’ve been looking forward to Runic Games’ Torchlight 2, you might recall that a while back, the developers stated that they were trying for an end of summer release. Well in a recent update to the game’s progress, Runic Games’ Travis Baldree stated that the team has finally given Act 2 of the game a “pass” and are currently working on character class skills to ensure that everything is in order before they release the game. Torchlight 2 is expected to comprise of four different acts so it looks like the team still has Act 3 and Act 4 left to go through before they deem the game worthy for a release. It looks like they are keeping to a very tight schedule so here’s hoping that they are able to make that end of summer timeframe! However hypothetically speaking, assuming the game is delayed, would you be bummed or would you rather they take their time and release a more polished product? In any case you can check out the progress and updates they made so far in the Runic Games’ forums.

When successors to games are released, gamers no doubt expect more content and new features, and if Torchlight 2 is a game you’re looking forward to (especially after the many problems plaguing Diablo 3 since its launch has put you off), you might be pleased to learn that according to the developers, Torchlight 2 is expected to be four times the size of the original game! We don’t mean four times the size in terms of installation, but four times the size in terms of unique areas, unique monsters, monster models, boss battles, and etc. If you’d like to see a side-by-side comparison of what some of the features Torchlight 2 has compared to its predecessor, you can check it out here or head on over to Runic Games’ blog for the details. Still no word on an exact release date, but the developers are confident that the game is still on track for a summer release. So, who else is looking forward to the game?

Torchlight 2 is still on track for a summer release

With Diablo 3 launched and making its rounds for a couple of months now, it seems like now could be a good time as any to launch Torchlight 2, a game by Runic Studios which some consider to be a possible competitor to the Diablo franchise. Well the good news is that if Diablo 3 disappointed you majorly with its bugs, errors and issues, you might be pleased to learn that Torchlight 2 is apparently still on track for a summer launch. This was revealed by Runic Games’ president Travis Baldree  who was quoted as saying, “The end of summer is September 25th or something like that, right? […] We’re still trying to get it done for summer. It’s a big game and we’ve still got some polish to go.” Sounds like good news for those who are looking forward to the game, and if you’re curious as to what sort of changes/updates they have made to game so far, you can pop on over to their blog for the details.
