Satechi Multifunction Mini Router Extends Your Wi Fi RangeSome of us do happen to live in a “black hole” when it comes to wireless signals – certain corners of the home just seem to be unable to receive any Wi-Fi signal of any kind, and when you take a look at your smartphone’s LTE signal, it drops to zero bars suddenly when entering the “zone”. Well, good thing there are devices out there to help you out in such a predicament, and Satechi’s Multifunction Mini Router is one of them, helping extend your Wi-Fi range whether you are at home or on the go.

The Satechi Multifunction Mini Router would make for the ideal traveling companion, being tiny enough to cram into any luggage, purse or briefcase, while offering users the convenience of converting a direct internet connection in conference rooms or hotel rooms to a private connection, delivering added security and mobility along the way. This plug and play router will also help extend the range of an existing Wi-Fi connection by another 100 feet – now is that cool or what? Theoretically, it has a maximum wireless speed of up to 300 Mbps via a 2.4GHz wireless band, but expect real world performance to be removed from such lofty heights.

If you are interested, the Satechi Multifunction Mini Router will retail for $39.99 a pop.

Satechi’s Universal Remote will give your iPhone universal remote capabilities

Have you ever wished your iPhone could double as a universal remote control for all your gadgets that rely on infrared sensors, such as TVs and DVRs? Well the good news is that now you can as Satechi has announced a Universal Remote dongle. It’s basically a small accessory (pictured above) that attaches to the headphone jack of your iOS device, and together with a dedicated app, it should in theory allow you to control pretty much any device with an infrared sensor. According to Satechi, thousands of devices are reportedly supported, but if a device isn’t supported, it seems that a learning mode can be used which will help associate commands. There will be various remote layouts that can be downloaded and used with the app, and while the app itself is free, the dongle will set you back $25 which appears to be a special offer – normal price is set at $40.

Satechi X-Pointer mobile presenter and Stylus Touch Pen for iPhone

You can say that a device like the iPhone has more than its fair share of accessories over the years, and this trend does not seem as though it is going to slow down anytime soon, let alone stop. Here we are with the Satechi X-Pointer mobile presenter and Stylus Touch Pen that was announced specially for the iPhone, with the former being controlled using the X-Presenter app that enables users to have the kind of unprecedented freedom, scrolling through through PowerPoint or Keynote presentation slides while ensuring the audience’s attention is directed thanks to the included red laser – like moth to a flame, you could say that.

For starters, the X-Presenter App will activate the X-Pointer’s red laser that in turn is attached to the iPhone via the smartphone’s 3.5mm jack. Not only that, the X-Presenter app is also capable of taking full control over the computer’s mouse using the app’s Mouse Mode function, turning this into an ideal all-in-one solution for business folks who are always on the go. It measures a mere 1.6 inches in length and tips the scales at just an ounce, making the X-Pointer extremely portable and mobile to be stashed away just about anywhere on your travels. Satechi is kind enough to include the Stylus Touch Pen that doubles up as a storage compartment for the X-Pointer laser whenever it is not in use, apart from being the precise touch-screen navigation tool, of course.

Apart from that, there is a rubber 3.5mm jack that you can affix the laser and pointer to the iPhone whenever the Stylus Touch Pen is not in use. Satechi has decided to make available the Satechi X-Pointer for $29.99, where you can download the X-Presenter app for free over at the Apple App Store. This is an introductory price, mind you, so we are not too sure just for how long the price point is going to remain.
