This awesome shirt comes from Asheville, North Carolina illustrator and graphic designer Ian Leino. It is called “Argyle Fighters,” and is basically a classy Star Wars shirt design that features a TIE fighter argyle pattern.

The argyle pattern has long been considered geeky and now it just got even more geek-cred. The argyle pattern is built from the wings of the Empire’s classic fighters. You can buy them in long-sleeve and short-sleeve versions.

Keep things geeky and stay classy by wearing an armada of TIE Fighters. Don’t be a scruffy-looking nerf herder and do let everyone know that the Argyle Strikes Back! Pew pew pew!

You can’t make this stuff up. Back in 1988, two diehard Star Trek: The Next Generation fans broke into the Paramount lot in the middle of the night and proceeded to film their own awkward and incompetent “documentary” as they explored the Enterprise sets.

Captain Stone of the Stage 9 Interlopers shows up on camera here and there dressed in his Starfleet uniform. At one point he even accidentally breaks a prop. The whole incident is strangely mesmerizing to watch. It begins with this guy posing next to a headless Starfleet officer from the episode “Conspiracy” as they argue about filming styles, and progresses through shot after shot of awkward instructions from actor to cameraman.

I just wish we had more footage. It seems like a great comedy.

Growing up I always liked the action scenes in the Star Wars movies much more than I liked the romance parts. For instance, I do recall the scene in The Empire Strikes Back when Leia tells Han that she loves him for the first time. To whit, Han replies with the infamous “I know.” (Then Chewie howls and Han is lowered into a vat of carbonite.)

If you are a well dressed Star Wars fan that needs some cufflinks that show off your geeky side, ThinkGeek has them. They are called, appropriately enough, the I Love You / I Know cufflinks. As you might guess, the links have a black and white image of Leia on one with the “I Love You.” printed underneath. The other has a shot of Han, everyone’s favorite scoundrel, and says “I know”.

The cufflinks are officially licensed from Lucasfilm and are rhodium-plated on the base with enamel and measure 3/4-inch square. You can pick these cufflinks up for $59.99(USD).

There are two kinds of people in this world. The ones who call the Ghostbusters and the ones who do the actual ghostbusting. If you want to be a part of the latter, you’d better have the right equipment.

Assuming you already have your Proton Pack and your Ghost Trap, you just need one more tool. Thankfully, Mattel has released a replica of the Ghostbusters Neutrino Wand to help you with your hunting and capturing needs. The company worked with Sony Entertainment to get all the details right and it even has vibrations, kickback, light meter animations, and an extending tip with lights. The sound effects come right from the film itself. There are SO many small details, like much of pieces appearing to be welded together.

So, other than actually emitting a proton beam, it is as authentic as it can be. Check out the video to see the wand in action. And look at that sweet box that it comes in.

If you are a big fan of the Star Wars franchise, I bet you have wondered in the past what it would be like to really stand in front of the Millennium Falcon or one of the other ships from the series. Short of building your own life-size version, these photos are about as close as you are likely to get.

The pics by artist Vesa Lehtimäki (aka “Avanaut“) use Star Wars models and clever photography tricks to make the toys look like they are real spaceships. I particularly like the one of the Falcon at night with the lights on around its perimeter. It reminds me of a mash up of ET and Star Wars a bit.
