Jabba would love to devour this frozen treat on a hot day while sailing on his barge. This tasty and cool carbonite treat comes from Justjennrecipes and I don’t know about you, but I wish I had one right now. It’s too damn hot!

The sherbet is made of root beer, heavy cream and condensed milk. Hit the link above to find out how to make this tasty treat yourself. You’ll need to pick up one of these carbonite silicone molds to do the job. You can’t go wrong with a sherbert smuggler.

Doctor Who Corn Maze: Orville Reden-Doctor Approves

You know what Doctor Who needs? More corn! A cornocupia of corn. It’s timey-wimey, corny, worny. Forget the Brigadier. We need the Kernel! Ugh! Terrible. That’s it for my corny jokes.

doctor who maze

So what’s the deal with this huge Doctor Who crop formation? It’s to celebrate 50 time-traveling years of Doctor Who. The 300+ meter-long maze was made by York Maze and and you may have noticed, it depicts a giant Dalek, along with the first and latest Doctor.

It looks pretty awesome, but I would hate to get lost in this maze of maize – especially if I bumped into these guys…

At least we know that aliens didn’t create this one.

Buy the 11th Doctor’s First Car on eBay

I know that you really had your heart set on buying the TARDIS, but Matt Smith is not getting rid of that. But he is parting with his first car. This Vauxhall Corsa was the first vehicle he purchased at age 18. It’s a 2000 model and it still runs, with only 60,000 miles on it.

matt smith car
Smith had this to say:

“While I have been travelling the universe in my TARDIS, my much-loved Vauxhall Corsa, aka The Shed, has been parked outside my parents’ house. As my first ever car, it has seen lots of adventures, not to mention a fair few mishaps (hence the dents). I’ll be very sad to see it go but I understand my parents want their driveway back! I’d love to find a new owner for this great little car, particularly as all the profits will go to Starlight, which is an amazing charity that brightens the lives of seriously and terminally ill children.”

He holds a special place in his heart for this car, but it is time to let go. Head over to eBay and put in a bid for a good cause.

Life-size Boba Fett Action Figure Oil Painting: Hang It Next to Han Solo in Carbonite

I grew up with the Star Wars action figures so I’m a sucker for anything related to these characters. And this piece of amazing art should be hanging on my wall. It is the Boba Fett action figure, in all it’s plastic glory, painted life-sized and looking very authentic indeed.
boba fett painting
Mats Gunnarsson created this incredible oil painting, which seems to have all of the details spot on. Mats takes vintage toys and comic books and turns them into oil paintings. It’s his thing. And obviously he is excellent at it.

This Boba Fett painting is his latest work and I am in love with it. Check out Mats’ website for more awesome action figure paintings.

Pacific Rim Kaiju Monster Stomps Through Qualcomm Stadium

I’m totally stoked that Pacific Rim is finally hitting theaters today. I can’t wait to go see it and watch giant robots battle giant monsters on the IMAX screen. While awaiting the arrival of the film on the big screen, one of the giant Kaiju monsters apparently made its presence known at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego.

kaiju footprint 1

The creature left gigantic footprints around the parking lot and inside of the stadium, before returning to the ocean.

kaiju footprints 2

Obviously, the footprints weren’t left by an actual monster. At least I don’t think so. I’ve been told they were created as a promotional stunt for Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, to promote Pacific Rim and the Pacific Rim Kaiju Battle Android game. Still, the effort to create these massive footprints was gargantuan. Here are some stats on the footprints and how they were made:

  • 32,000 sq ft of industrial grade material, with 28,400 sq ft of printable area
  • Made up of scrim vinyl and 7oz poly-lined black out material
  • 56 rolls of scrim material, 150ft long each
  • 6000 ft of industrial adhesive compound tape
  • 72 hours of non-stop printing
  • 80 liters of ink (60 cases)
  • The layout of one footprint spans the length of 40 8-ft tables
  • Sewing together the footprints took 28 hours on industrial sewing machines
  • Each footprint weighed about 480 pounds, and it took 12 people to carry each one into position

There’s no sign of any Jaeger prints in the area, so you’d better keep your eyes peeled if you’re in the San Diego area.

I’m not sure if these doors will keep your little siblings out of your room, or make it just that much more appealing.

Star Wars Suitcases: Pack Your Bags for a Galaxy Far, Far Away

These Star Wars suitcases are a great way to pack for your next trip to sunny Mos Eisley, wintery Hoth, swampy Dagobah or even the Death Star resort in orbit.

star wars suitcase
These suitcases are from crafter AmandaJeannn and they show the world her love of Star Wars while she’s at the airport or on the road. She covered these bags in Star Wars fabric and they look amazing. As an added bonus, they’re easy to identify on the baggage carousel.

But for some reason I have an overwhelming urge to see Jar Jars head in one of these.

Life-sized Cardboard Gremlin: Never Get it Wet

Why would anyone ever own a Mogwai? You are just asking for trouble. Have you not seen the movies? Those cute little furballs turn into Gremlins. They are like tribbles, but deadly. Don’t ever own a Mogwai people! They will only bring you trouble.
gremlin
This life sized Gremlin is so realistic that it should serve as a PSA warning people about the dangers of Mogwai/Gremlins. Amazingly, it was constructed entirely out of cardboard by crafter crispin23. Obviously this guy likes cigars. And clawing peoples faces off.

gremlin1
It is amazing work. More importantly it reminds us to never get Mogwai wet, feed them after midnight or even rub their furry little tummies. Do not be fooled by their fuzziness.
