Starry Night TARDIS Embroidery: Time and Relative Dimension in Sewing

Many fans really love the Doctor Who episode Vincent and The Doctor. People love a good historical story anyway and the episode was neat. It had the Doctor and Vincent van Gogh fighting monsters along with Amy Pond and even a special painting of Starry Night that featured the TARDIS.

This embroidered version of the Starry TARDIS was a gift to jfer007 from Greys Princess over on craftster.org. This gift giving was part of a larger craft swap in the community, but this is probably the best item of the bunch.

I would so hang this on my wall. Its creator did a great job reproducing Van Gogh’s work with a TARDIS in it. I’m gonna have to get into that swap. Do you think I could get something cool if I gave them a TARDIS made out out Popsicle sticks?

Chewbacca Cookies are Chewie, No Really!

Delicious Chewie chocolate chip cookies fresh from the oven? Holy Yum! Now I see how Chewie got his name. He should be called Chewie and gooey with all of those chips. And just look at his tasty candy bandoleer.

Wookiees may be able to pull your arm out of it’s socket, but they aren’t so tough when they are going in your mouth with a nice glass of milk. Not so tough now are you? Looks like the Keebler Elves took over your tree. They probably have Ewoks working the assembly line, packaging these cookies up.

These awesome Wookiee cookiees come from Diamonds for Dessert, who also made up a Han Solo Cup so she has a place to dunk them…

DIY Sound Trooper Suit: Welcome to the Loud Side of the Force

We’ve seen all kinds of Stormtrooper get-ups, but how about a Sound Trooper? This project by Unbox Therapy is just that. This crazy suit that features 20 JBL Micro 2 speakers attached to a hockey shoulder pad using industrial strength Velcro.

It turns the wearer into a walking speaker fit to broadcast Imperial propaganda or just some cool tunes. The Imperial March is of course best. The JBL Micro 2s are daisy-chained together and connected to a Nexus 4 for sound input. Watch the entire video below if you want to see the build process, or skip to 3:45 to see and hear it in action.

This thing will definitely get you noticed on the street as evidenced above. This is an awesome project. You are your own soundtrack.

Steampunk AT-AT Liquor Cabinet: for the Lords of the Victorian Empire

Vancouver artist Colin Johnson made a unique piece of furniture shaped like the AT-AT from The Empire Strikes Back. He calls it the Emperor’s Cabinet. You wouldn’t want to take down this Imperial Walker, but you would want to open it up. That’s because it’s hiding drinks behind its door.

Colin made it out of plywood, mahogany veneer, brass and glass. I wonder what a Jedi’s drink of choice would be. I assume the Sith just drink the blood and tears of their victims.

Colin is looking to sell the liquor cabinet to make room for his other projects. You can reach out to Colin on his website if you’re interested.

Acer Aspire R7 Star Trek Limited Edition Laptop: Kirk to Ivy Bridge, Beam Me Up!

Acer has unveiled a Star Trek themed notebook that looks stunning. In fact, it looks like it came right from the bridge of the rebooted Enterprise. The Acer Aspire R7 Star Trek Limited Edition. It kind of looks like the Enterprise herself when opened up halfway.

Star Trek Acer
This special edition notebook features a stainless steel Star Trek logo emblazoned on it too just so you get the point. The R7 also features a repositioned keyboard and trackpad and a high-definition touchscreen mounted on a “revolutionary ‘Ezel’ hinge” that allows it to flip, reverse, lie flat or float – though you don’t need the Star Trek edition to get this feature.

R2-D2 Pizza Box Surfaces in Japan: Droid Delivers!

In all the years of the Star Wars franchise, we’ve never seen a droid eat a thing. As a matter of fact, we’re not sure when any of the Rebel or Imperial soldiers take time out of their busy days to eat either. Now, R2-D2 can add one more ability to his ample bag of tricks – delivering hot and delicious pizza. Now, maybe the Rebel Alliance will get a leg up, since they’ll finally have something in their bellies.

This R2-D2 pizza box was spotted at Domino’s in Japan, and it’s a perfect likeness of everyone’s favorite little garbage-can-on-wheels-cum-droid. Apparently, it was the only good thing to come out of last years 3D re-release of The Phantom Menace. Why would anyone think that Jar Jar in 3D would be a good idea?

Star Trek Wines, Set Phasers to Stinking Drunk

Many Star Trek fans needed a drink after seeing the latest movie. For many, the modern Star Trek franchise just seems to miss the mark, but wine never lets you down. Here’s a series of $25 a bottle Star Trek branded wines from Vinasa Winery in Sonoma, California. Die-hard Trekkies, drink up and forget the recent movies. As well as the last couple of TV series.

These wines come in three different bottles commemorating three different episodes from the original series: The City on the Edge of Forever (The Hangover on the Edge of Forever), Mirror Mirror (Who is that handsome devil looking back at me? I want to sleep with that guy!,) and The Trouble with Tribbles (Ok, I’m seeing things now. That’s enough booze for me)

All the wine is the same. Just regular red table wine with a Trek label. And that’s all a geek really needs.

Landspeeder Push Cart Comes in Handy when Shopping in Mos Eisley

If you want your kid to have the Star Wars experience, start them at an early age. Make them a landspeeder stroller and push them around while you go shopping.

landspeeder stroller

In the image it is being used to haul some bags, but there is some lucky kid that gets to ride in this thing. It’s one of the best first sets of wheels a kid can have. It’s all downhill from there. He or she is going to want an X-Wing or a Millenium Falcon for his 16th birthday.

This stroller was spotted at Denver Comic Con. Of course. You have never seen such a wretched hive of geeks and nerdery.
