Bees are amazing creatures. The yellow-and-black-striped little things make honey and royal jelly and, given a little bit of guidance, completely stellar sculptures made out of wax. In recent years, artists have picked up on the talent.

As I scour the internet looking for wonderful creations to share with you, I occasionally come across something so magical that I think it needs to be made into a product you can buy. This is one of those times. What you’re looking at here is the world’s most awesome LEGO panda bear.
It was created by Jumpei Mitsui, who knows a thing or two about LEGO bricks. You see, Jumpei is one of a handful of LEGO Certified Professionals, and if this jolly panda bear is any indication, it’s clear why he’s been honored with that distinction.
Jumpei, you should submit this design to LEGO Cuusoo, so there’s a chance that they’d actually turn it into a kit so we could all make one for ourselves. Heck, I could see a whole family of LEGO pandas in a variety of sizes.
Man, I just want to walk up to LEGO panda and rub his roly-poly belly. For some reason, I think that would be good luck.

While Slave Leia has been the official sex symbol of the Star Wars franchise for three decades, she’s about to get a run for her money from her own mother, Padmé Amidala.
Yes, what you’re looking at is the Queen herself, devoid of ridiculous headgarb or facepaint – instead dressed in a skintight snowsuit, fringed with fur and slinky tall snow boots. Reow-reow. You’re looking good there, Mom.
The 10-1/2″ tall, hand-painted collectible figure was inspired by painting by Adam Hughes called Snowbunny Padme (sans Yoda) and is coming in a limited-edition from Gentle Giant. You can pre-order your own Snowbunny Padme statue over at Entertainment Earth for $248.99(USD) – though you’ll have to wait until June 2014 to enjoy her up close and personal.

This 15 foot-tall steel brain sculpture can be controlled by your brain waves. It is called Mens Amplio (that means “mind expanding” in Latin). The interactive brain and head has been embedded with LEDs in the branching structures that represent neurons. Those are made from clear light-diffusing acrylic. The built-in LEDs show a sequence of light displays, which are controlled by an EEG reader placed on your head.
Raspberry Pi and Arduino processors are used to translate your brain waves into light patterns in real time. The huge brain also has flames on the outside, triggered only when the participant can successfully meditate.
It will show up at Burning Man this year, and then they want to take the giant head to schools in California to demonstrate it to kids and get them excited about science. technology and fabrication. The video below shows a 3D rendering of what you the finished sculpture will look like (without the flames.)
The Mens Amplio project is seeking additional funds on Indiegogo, if you want to take part.

Why would anyone ever own a Mogwai? You are just asking for trouble. Have you not seen the movies? Those cute little furballs turn into Gremlins. They are like tribbles, but deadly. Don’t ever own a Mogwai people! They will only bring you trouble.
This life sized Gremlin is so realistic that it should serve as a PSA warning people about the dangers of Mogwai/Gremlins. Amazingly, it was constructed entirely out of cardboard by crafter crispin23. Obviously this guy likes cigars. And clawing peoples faces off.
It is amazing work. More importantly it reminds us to never get Mogwai wet, feed them after midnight or even rub their furry little tummies. Do not be fooled by their fuzziness.

While there have been plenty of images circulating over on Reddit showing the awful, unsanitary things workers do when they’re bored at their fast food jobs, Redditor Txmaluda did something a little more creative – and decidedly less disturbing – with their downtime at work.
Yes, that’s an AT-AT Imperial Walker made from plastic ketchup containers and cardboard. Of course, it’s all well and good until the Rebels start firing french fries and chicken nuggets – as it seem to be even more vulnerable than the ones in Empire Strikes Back. You certainly won’t need a tow line to take this AT-AT down.
My favorite part of the picture is the box that says both WHATABURGER and “fancy ketchup.” How fancy can WHATABURGER ketchup really be?

I haven’t played The Last of Us yet, but I think if you crossed that game with Super Mario Bros. this would be one of its enemies. This gruesome sculpture came from the talented hands and twisted mind of Karen aka Dogzillalives. Karen said it’s made of “polymer clay, acrylic paint, matte and gloss varnishes.” I’m not sure I believe her.
She actually just calls it “Medium plant guy.” I don’t even want to know what Large plant guy looks like. Check out her deviantART page and her Etsy shop if your stomach isn’t empty yet.

So you have a LEGO purse and LEGO shoes, now all you need is the dress to go with. But this isn’t just an everyday dress – this is a wedding dress, made entirely from LEGO bricks.
The LEGO dress was designed by Japanese artist Rie Hosokai – inspired by his prior work – a similarly-shaped wedding dress made from balloons. It was created for the Piece of Peace LEGO exhibition in Tokyo, Japan.
Unfortunately, it’s completely immobile, so the groom and wedding party will have to come to the bride, but that’s a small price to pay for such an awesome work of LEGO construction and creativity.

It’s a sad fact that when nature and man collide, nature usually loses. Many of us hate to cut down trees, but sometimes you have no choice. Maybe it is mandated by local authorities or maybe it needs to go because it is in danger of falling. Isn’t it much better to carve a dragon out of that fallen tree, instead of just turning it into firewood? Hell yes!
Redditor Aboiement’s neighbor paid an unnamed artist to sculpt this amazing dragon from the trunk of this deceased tree. It looks awesome and now his front yard is basically a fantasy realm. I bet hobbits and orcs come to fight it in the wee hours when no one is looking. I guess the guy carved this with his magical powers and then just walked off into the sunset, not seeking glory or anything.

If you’ve been following Technabob for a while, you might recall Evan Bacon, the teenager who’s built a number of epic LEGO models of superheroes. The 15-year-old has recently expanded his collection of life-size characters, adding Captain James Tiberius Kirk to the mix.
Evan modeled LEGO Kirk after William Shatner’s original character, using over 18,000 individual bricks (glued together to make sure it doesn’t come apart.) While it measures nearly six-feet tall, it weighs just 90 pounds, which dare I say is much less than Shatner ever did as an adult, even when he was in good enough shape to fight the Gorn.
Evan showed off Kirk at this year’s Comicpalooza in Houston, TX. So what’s next for young Evan? He’s currently working on a life-size Wonder Woman, which he plans on bringing to the RTX Convention this July in Austin. If you happen to be in the area, you should check it out.
You’ve got to wonder what Evan’s room looks like at home. Is it filled with these creations? Do they sit at the dinner table? Is he building his own LEGO army?
