Unroll.me – Liberate your Inbox Today!

I am ashamed to admit it, I am an e-mail hoarder. It’s true, I have tens of thousands of them. I promise myself that I’m going to delete the junk, so my important e-mails don’t keep getting lost in the pile, but every time I get started I feel so overwhelmed. It’s gotten to a point that I’ve considered just closing the account and getting a new one, but what about all the truly important items I have saved on there? I guess I’m between a rock and a hard place.

Not anymore! Check out Unroll.me, a brand-y new, web-based application that’s soon to be compatible with most major email providers. Unroll.me compiles all your “wanted” junk, and sends you a categorized email once a day that will keep you privy to all of your endless offers, discounts, updates and social notifications, all neatly displayed in a “daily roll-up”, and you can even pick when you want it delivered. Unroll.me also lets you opt-out of the stuff you no longer wish to receive, so you can get yourself organized and cleaned up all in one fell swoop.

Unroll.me takes all the e-mails that are cluttering your inbox, and stuffs them in a special Rollup folder, allowing you to peruse the junk mail that you aren’t quite ready to part with, but certainly don’t need to be reading in between the memo’s from your boss, or the heartfelt birthday greetings from your grandmother.

So if you’re on a tablet, PC or mobile device you can add stuff to your Rollup, leave it alone, or get rid of it forever. You can forward your e-mails or simply check out nifty previews, letting you know what your in for without even opening the mail. Unroll.me is currently only available for gmail and Yahoo, but rest assured other providers like AOL are right around the corner. So simplify your life the quick and easy way, with Unroll.me.

New Mobile Theme for Coolest Gadgets

Mobile Theme

More and more of our readers are browsing the site (and web in general) on their phones and I must admit previously reading Coolest Gadgets on a mobile device was not the most enjoyable of experiences. However after a chunk of work this weekend we’re very happy to report we are now MUCH more mobile friendly.

The mobile version of the site will display automagically when you browse the site on your phone. We’ve tried to keep it as clean and simple as possible but also be recognisable as Coolest Gadgets. You can browse and read the site as you would any other site but it’s optimized for the small screen. Pressing the button at the top right displays a menu that lets you view specific categories or pages.

We’d really appreciate any feedback you may have, positive, negative or feature suggestions. If you find any bugs please let us know about them (and which phone you are using). Thanks and I hope you enjoy the mobile version of Coolest Gadgets.

Introducing Xbox Music – Another Reason to Love your Xbox

We certainly have a connection to the Xbox, we quickly succumbed to the pressure of a nine year old to get the 360 with the Kinect, so now the old Xbox is in the den, along with several hundred dollars worth of games, and so begins the brand new game collection. Now, I hear the new Xbox 720 is on the horizon, but that kid’s, is tomorrow’s story.

Today, the story is about the brand new Xbox Music service, the first all-in-one music option that gives you the ability to stream all kinds of custom playlists for free,  you can also subscribe to all the music you want, or you can actually download all your favorite songs. Designed to compete with iTunes (and everyone else for that matter) and through the power of the cloud, you can be grooving to the music across all your listening options, including tablets, PC’s and TV’s.

Offering free streaming, and an Xbox Music Pass option that allows you ad-free, unlimited playback of any track in their subscription catalog across your tablets, PCs, phones or Xbox 360 for under 10 bucks per month and other options that unlock unlimited access to tens of thousands of music videos on your Xbox 360, and if you’re wondering, an option that can add almost any content your already own (from wherever you own it) to your personal collection, even if  Xbox Music doesn’t have it.

With more than 30 million songs in the global catalog, you can personalize your collection and create awesome playlists and then you can store it all in the cloud. Xbox Music begins rolling out around the world tomorrow on Xbox 360, and later this month on smartphones and tablets running Windows 8, of course they will be adding many additional platforms later, just stay tuned to xbox.com to keep updated.

Presta – for When You Want it Now!

I remember my first apartment, it had orange tweed carpeting, but it was lovingly furnished with rental furniture, and I found it to be a whole lot nicer than my moms old couch, or having the common “mattress on the floor” scenario found in many first apartments. Yes I paid more for it, but the place looked good in spite of the orange carpet, and they came to get the furniture when I was done with it…

So rent-to-own simply works sometimes, when you’re starting out, or your credit is not what you’d like it to be, and let’s face it, there’s no better time for it’s revival than during this time completely filled with gadget temptations. Welcome Presta, a new service that lets you get the products you want, with affordable payments and no long term commitments.

Unlike using credit, Presta doesn’t charge interest, instead, you pay a rental payment while you use the product. Simply keep it as long as you like, and after a year it’s yours, or return it after 3 months and they’ll even pay for the shipping to send it back. Computers, iPads, coffee makers or jewelry… if you’ve been coveting these items, now may be the time.

Yes, it is more expensive than paying cash, or throwing it on your credit card. For example that iPad 2 you’ve had  your eye on carries 17 dollar a week payments, which means when you own it at the end of 12 months  it will have cost you right around 900 bucks, eeks! but is that better than not having one at all? Check out Presta.com, and I’ll let  you decide.

Toys R Us – Takes a Share of the Movie Market

I really enjoy the possibility that digital entertainment services may slowly but surely be reducing our need to rely on cable television. Every time I get my cable bill I cant believe how much I’m paying just to watch TV, and yet every month I write the check. Over the past year we have managed to lower the bill by dropping some premium channels in favor or services like Netflix, but that too carries a price, in the form of a subscription fee. I prefer a “pay for what I watch” option.

Well, Toys R Us is throwing their hat in the ring of digital entertainment options with their recently announced Toys R Us Movies, providing families instant access to over 4000 movies and TV shows that kids love. This new service provides an extensive library of premium digital content for both streaming and download and since the service is equipped with specialized parental controls, we get to choose the most appropriate content for our families viewing.

Starting this week, users will be able to stream content to any PC, Mac, and any Adobe Flash enabled devices and rest assured that the service will be made available to additional web-enabled devices in the coming months. Toys R Us also plans to expand to Blue Ray players and tablets, and to offer HD services in the near future. Watch for the dedicated iOS and android releases later this fall.

Movies will start at $2.99 for a 24-hour rental and $5.99 for a digital download. Family TV options  start at around $0.99, at toyrusmovies.com and keep on the lookout for the new  Toys”R”Us Movie gift cards which will be available later this fall in Toys”R”Us retail stores, just in time for the holidays.

Fuzz Internet Radio – Wanna be a DJ?

I hardly listen to regular FM radio anymore. With all the free internet radio options, Pandora being one of my all time fave’s, couple that with satellite radio and all the tunes I have downloaded to my various iDevices and I though I pretty much had all my musical needs covered. Well, I have been wrong before (of course that was when I thought I was wrong and wasn’t) but what follows seems pretty interesting.

Check out FUZZ, a brand new internet radio station that does away with robotic playlists and features music stations that are populated by real people, making real choices, and allowing you to find people who share your musical tastes, and thereby… exactly the right music for you.

Available only in the United States (hopefully limited just for the beta testing) you get to search through interesting musical choices that are compiled by real people, choose from Totally Freakin 80′s, or Rare R&B, perhaps 90′S Hip Hop is more to your liking, or Indie Madness… Its all there waiting for you, but perhaps you’d rather try your hand at the DJ biz yourself and share your own collections, you can do so simply by creating your own station and the FUZZ utilizes user feedback to see just how well you spin with the best stations rising to the top.

So check it out, become a part of it, or just listen from the sidelines, it may just change the way you do tunes forever. FUZZ.com
