Skyrim 1.9 Update Arrives

Skyrim 1.9 Update ArrivesI do not know about you, but how many folks out there still have a penchant for firing up
Skyrim each week to get their gaming fix? Just in case you are still a regular Skyrim player, it would bode you well to know that the latest Skyrim 1.9 update is now available on the Xbox 360 console, and PS3 owners need not fret as the very same update too, will be headed to the PS3 platform in due time. Just what kind of new stuff will the Skyrim 1.9 update bring to the table?

Well, for starters, we will see the Legendary difficulty finally arrive on consoles, which would certainly bode well with hardcore gamers. What does Legendary skills do? It basically does away with the overall level cap so that you can level up infinitely. For instance, should you maximize a particular skill, you can opt to reset said skill back to the base level, while refunding your Perk points, with the assumption that one will be able to maintain the actual Perks from before.

Limited Edition Skyrim Dragonborn Statue Announced For $299.99If you consider yourself to be a huge fan of Bethesda’s Skyrim game, then perhaps this 16” statue might be one worth adding to your Skyrim collection. Designed by the folks at GamingHead, this is a 16” statue depicting the Dragonborn from the Skyrim game standing atop a dragon’s tail. It is made from polystone and is hand painted and hand finished, and there will be two versions available. One version is the Dragonborn holding a sword and dagger in either hand. That particular model is priced at $299.99 and is limited to 1,000 units worldwide.

However if the image above has managed to capture your attention, that particular model will be slightly more limited with 500 units available worldwide  and is priced at a more expensive $329.99. As you can see, this model has the Dragonborn holding a fireball in one hand, and that hand is interchangeable which is pretty cool. We have to say that judging by these photos, the models look extremely detailed and not to mention lifelike. Both statues can be pre-ordered and are expected to begin shipping in Q4 2013.

Skyrim Gets A Tropical Paradise Makeover With This Mod

Bethesda’s Skyrim has seen countless mods made for it in the past, ranging from the novelty, to the beautiful where the textures have been improved greatly, making the game look positively next-gen. However for the most part, the mods have left Skyrim feeling like Skyrim, just with better graphics and models, but in the case of the Tropical Skyrim mod, well, it completely turns Skyrim into a different game, at least visually. In fact to a certain extent we could have easily mistaken it for Far Cry 3 upon first glance. Basically what the mod does is that it turns Skyrim into a tropical rainforest. It also takes away some of the gloom and dark lighting into the game, turning it into a tropical paradise of sorts. The details of the mod and the download can be found here, but in the meantime if you want to check it out in action, take a look in the video above.

Dovahkiin Full Daedric Armor Costume: FUS-RO-WHOA!

Man, look at that armor. It would take me like 400 hours to find all of that stuff in the game, let alone in real life. Look at those swords. This cosplay rocks the world of Skyrim.

This full Daedric Armor suit was built and is worn by ZERIOS88 who is obviously a wizard at making this stuff. He is a hobbyist who likes to make fantasy video game armor and weapons.

This armor is really beautiful. I might be biased because I played so much Skyrim, but I think you will agree that it is pretty spectacular. And those weapons. This makes me want to play the game all over again.

Skyrim Dragonborn And Other DLC Content Arriving On PlayStation Store In February

skyrim dragonborn dlc Skyrim Dragonborn And Other DLC Content Arriving On PlayStation Store In FebruaryThe Skyrim experience on the PS3 has been a poorer one compared to the Xbox 360 simply because it lags behind in terms of available DLCs, but all of the previous heartaches and broken promises will come to an end soon. Specifically, Sony has just announced that they will roll out all of Skyrim’s add-on content on the PlayStation Store from February onwards, where the 1.8 title update will also be released before Dragonborn is launched. Not only that, each add-on will be lighter on your wallets with a 50% discount during its launch week on PSN.

Other than Dragonborn, the other DLC made available will be Hearthfire and Dawnguard. At last, you can build your very own home and also opt to be a Vampire Lord, the possibilities are endless! I think that the gesture of offering a 50% discount on all of the other add-ons is a step in the right direction. After all, PS3 fans of the Skyrim series have waited long enough, and from our previous experience, some of them have even given up on ever seeing the other DLCs roll out.

New Fallout Game Teased By ‘Three Dog’ Voice Actor

New Fallout Game Teased By Three Dog Voice Actor

Bethesda has been killing it with its RPGs over the past few years, its most recent blockbuster being The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Which is why when we heard of a voice actor from Fallout 3 tweeted something teasing a possible new Fallout title, we thought you should know immediately.

The voice actor who played Three Dog in Fallout 3 had quite the interesting message to deliver on his Twitter account this week. Erik Todd Dellums tweeted out the following message:

“To all my #Fallout3 and #ThreeDog fans: There may be more of the Dog coming! Fingers crossed!”

In response to one of his Twitter followers who was commending him on possibly reprising his role as Three Dog, he tweets:

“How was that for a tease! I was given permission to release that tease, so fingers crossed.”

Both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas were amazing RPGs that sold incredibly well for Bethesda. Seeing how they were able to churn out Fallout titles and work on Skyrim, we’re sure the company has been hard at work on another Fallout title. We just hope whatever is announced, it uses Skyrim’s engine as we can only imagine what Fallout’s wastelands will look like with that jaw-dropping engine.

Skyrim Dragonborn DLC For PS3 Coming Early 2013

dragonborn ps3 Skyrim Dragonborn DLC For PS3 Coming Early 2013The Skyrim Dragonborn downloadable content (DLC) which has been seen by many to be stillborn, does seem to have a fair shot at arriving on the PS3 platform sometime early next year, and this bit of information came from the folks over at Bethesda themselves. The game developer is said to be hard at work to deliver Dawnguard and Hearthfire to the PS3 platform, too. In fact, a day before the Skyrim Dragonborn DLC arrived for Xbox LIVE, Bethesda mentioned in an update on their official blog by dropping hints that the DLC’s release date for the PS3 is early next year.

Bethesda mentioned, “We’re also happy to announce Dragonborn will be available on PS3 and PC early next year.” Does this mean we could be looking at a January 2013 release date? After all, PS3 owners have waited long enough, don’t you think so, to deserve an earlier release. Ah well, all we need now is to expend our patience for a wee bit more.

Skyrim Dragonborn Nord Christmas Tree Could Probably Handle the Cold Outside

These days Christmas trees come in all shapes and sizes. For Skyrim fans, this life-sized Dragonborn Nord tree (actually a statue decorated like a tree) is all they need.
skyrim christmas tree
This crazy statue/tree comes from Redditor Lanarchy, who spends way too much time running around in Skyrim and needed more of it in real life. In the future they will say, “I used to decorate my Dragonborn tree every year. Until I took an arrow to the knee.”

This Skyrim tree is the perfect centerpiece for a geeky Christmas. The little Yoda on his shoulder is a nice touch, despite having nothing to do with The Elder Scrolls. Or does he?
