This morning we’re looking toward the future with a rather enticing self-driving car timeline of five years – soon and very soon! There’s currently a Sustained Attack happening on the USA – did you know? It’s a hacking attack, mind you. Over at the FCC a Samsung Wireless Charging Pad has made clearance with a possible Galaxy S IV in its sights.

This week’s State of the Union Address in the USA will have a lovely fireside chat happening directly afterward – join in! Two new Samsung smart cameras have hit the shelves – these are the same units we saw at CES 2013, and they’re hot! It would appear that we’re low on Surface Pro tablets out there in the wild market. Check out the concept for the Apple Willow Glass “iWatch” to blow your mind.

The new HTC One has leaked with both a rendering of its front and a sample photo. It would appear that the non-planet Pluto has a series of moons that need naming. In the hunt for Christopher Dorner, several unmanned drones have been deployed – gotta catch em!

The first primetime Google Nexus 4 advertisement has been released – after all this time! SlashGear Morning Wrap-up: January 29, 2013

This morning it’s all about the next generation of productivity with the release of Office 2013 as well os Office 365 for online excellence. We’ve got a review of Office 365 Home Premium and are pumped up about the future of cloud connectivity right this minute! There’s been an announcement of an HTC event hitting NYC on the 19th of February that we’ll certainly be at and Verizon has revealed a brand new $20 LTE mobile hotspot by the name of Jetpack MiFi 5510L.

You’ll be able to see the first final look at the Gamestick this morning right before it hits production after Kickstarter. The fun folks at DARPA have revealed a 1.8 gigapixel drone camera that’ll be able to target the enemy at 20,000 feet. BlackBerry 10 has been announced as coming with ooVoo for 12 person video chat – weird!

The iPad 4 with 128GB storage has been announced officially complete with Retina display and Lightning connector – and what on earth will you be using that massive amount of storage for? More apps and photos and videos than you can possibly imagine. Crysis 3 Open Beta is now out for Xbox 360 – jump in on the mega-shooting excellence! If you’ve been using the London Tube for free wifi, you’ll be in for a surprise immediately if now soon: costs!

Apple’s Siri has been updated with iOS 6.1 to include movie ticket purchases with Fandango – like magic! Acer has made it clear that they’ve for a bit more faith in Chromebooks than they do in Windows 8 at the moment – watch out for more on the inexpensive end! Then there’s the tiny side of things – Orbis Transform for both Apple Lightning and microUSB in one cord – sweetness!

SlashGear Morning Wrap-up: January 28th, 2013

Here at the start of 2013 we’ve got a whole lot of color changes going on, today’s being the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and its switch-over to Garnet Red – sound like a Valentine’s Day winner to you? You’ll be able to have a peek at the newest trailer for BioShock Infinite as well as see the death of a patent troll by the hands of NewEgg. The teams at Ford, Daimler, and Renault-Nissan are letting the world know that fuel-cell cars will be a reality by 2017. And there’s a monkey in Iran that’s been to space and back.

BlackBerry 10 is just around the corner and we’re seeing more than one bit of evidence that it’s going to come in with a bang – take this movie and music reveal for example – let the media begin! Don’t forget the slightly lower price than originally suspected as well – all out! Barnes & Noble have let it be known that they’ll be closing physical shops galore before the decade is up.

You’ll be glad to see the front and rear of the HTC M7 in a new video – looks rather like we’ll be seeing another Butterfly, yes? The folks at Plastic Logic have teased an always-accurate digital timetable for the very near future – travelers be saved! Have a peek at the Pantech Vega No. 6 with a 5.9-inch display for the Spring and Summer season, full of size!

It appears that RIM will not be purchased by Lenovo if their press team has anything to say about it. There’s a real life tractor beam out there in the real world – full of light! There’s no denying that iOS and Android are dominating the digital landscape with a full-on “duopoly” according to Strategy Analytics for the final quarter of 2012. It’s one of those morning where you’re going straight to outer space, ladies and gentlemen, with Deep Space Industries sending FireFly prospectors to the outer reaches in 2015. There’s been new evidence discovered that suggests we had a lovely little gamma ray burst smashing through our planet just about 1200 years ago – and now we’re all mutants. And just to bring you back to Earth so we can continue with the gadgetry of our own environment, note that the Pebble smart watch is shipping today: early adopters rejoice!

Those of you working with Netflix streaming video will soon be able to use your smartphone as a remote with DIAL technology – second-screen action ahoy! Call of Duty: Black Ops II is pumping up for a whole lot of double XP action this weekend – don’t miss it! SlashGear Morning Wrap-up: January 22nd, 2013

This morning we’re getting in down and dirty with such a variety of technological breakthroughs your brain is going to flip. Start your mind-blowing off right with an announcement of the official Google Glass Explorer Edition coming to developers “in a couple of months.” Next be sure to see Audi’s own super strange Swarm lighting for their futuristic cars of tomorrow. Amazon has brought forth in-app purchases for all manner of software – Mac, PC, and web games included.

Over at Intel you’ll find a new batch of budget-friendly Ivy Bridge processors from all angles. The group known as Kantar World Panel has made it clear that the 2012 Q4 smartphone champion is the iPhone by a giant margin as Android appears to gain a lot of deserters – strange way to put it! AT&T has made an announcement that they’ll be bringing on a full purchase of Alltel for a cool $780 million USD.

Those of you in love with HTC’s user interface for smartphones will be glad to see Sense 5 leaking in full with a lovely aesthetic that’s utterly pared-back compared to past iterations. Verizon has announced a hearty Q4 2012 loss and blamed it on Hurricane Sandy as well as pension costs. It’s time for Firefox OS to hit the smartphone universe with a couple of developer smartphones you’re going to Orange. I mean love!

MySpace’s relaunch is in a bit of trouble – maybe – as they’ve been accused of using music that may not be theirs – dear, oh dear. Paypal has announced that they’re making a full overhaul a reality in the coming months. The folks at MSI have announced a budget tablet with the name Enjoy 71 for the masses, and SteelSeries has unveiled their newest gaming keyboard with aspirations for colorful game-on action.

SlashGear Morning Wrap-up: January 21, 2013

This morning it’s leak city as the rumor mill starts spinning like a propeller before Mobile World Congress 2013, coming up sooner than you think! The iPhone Math has to be one of the most absurd of the collection, bringing with it a 4.8-inch display alongside the plastic iPhones tipped earlier this month. Sergey Brin has been riding the subway in NYC sporting Google Glass as we inch closer to the developer events in that city and down westward at the start of next month. BlackBerry will be bringing the heat with BlackBerry 10 at the end of this month as well, RIM changing the name now of App World to BlackBerry World in celebration it does seem.

The folks behind Memoto have delayed the life-logging camera but are adding in a digital compass for fun. Eric Schmidt and his daughter Sophie have been there and back again to nowhere less than North Korea. Real-life Mario Kart is being made real in a demonstration of RFID-tagged boosters throughout a real-deal course with go-carts – amazingly amazing! RIM’s own CEO has tipped the idea that they could sell their hardware devision after the launch of BlackBerry 10 – quite the pre-event note!

If you’ve not seen the HTC M7 in a set of supposedly real photographs, now’s your chance. If you’re living in the USA and love the PlayStation Store, you may be super gloriously happy to find that you can use PayPal there now as well as your cold hard cash. Intel is working non-stop at the moment to bring on technology that’ll hopefully help Stephen Hawking to continue to communicate as his body continues to deteriorate.

SlashGear Morning Wrap-Up: January 18th, 2013

This morning it’s all about the price point, with the Acer “Kiev” Chromebox tipped as the $99 savior for the desktop Chrome universe. There’s a brand new Alfa Romeo/Miata roadster deal in the works this week between Fiat and Mazda for 2015. As demand shifts from the iPad to the iPad mini, Sharp Corp has been tipped to reduce retina display production.

The company by the name of JK Imaging has – perhaps – leaked a new Kodak micro four thirds shooter to the world. There’s also been a leak of a possible LG Optimus G Pro – how much more wild can it get? BlackBerry 10 has been previewed once again with carriers readying for RIM.

The Mona Lisa has been laser’d to the moon with some fabulous science magic – 240,000 miles of distance. There’s a bit of a four-day beta coming up for Sim City starting on the 25th of January that you’ll probably want to check in on. Owners of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, Galaxy Tab 2 7.0, and Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 will be glad to find an Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade waiting for them soon and very soon.

There’s a wild new 12-lead EKG machine being launched for Android tablets and smartphones. Nokia has released some 3D printing files for the cases of their Lumia lineup. The magazine known as Hearst is now officially releasing copies to the iPad before it hits the newsstand. Expect a whole lot more in the surprise arena between here and Mobile World Congress 2013 – it’s the wild west, east, north, and south until then!

SlashGear Morning Wrap-up: January 17th, 2013

This week it’s all about the after-shocks of CES, and that means apps galore, denials of wrongdoing, and lots of super fun reports of malware. New devices continue to flow after CES’s departure including the iriver ULALA smartphone, Genius Gila gaming mouse, and Satechi USB 3.0 aluminum external hard drive enclosure. You’ll want to be following the Aaron Swartz story as well – this isn’t over yet!

Microsoft has released a multi-OS app by the name of HelpBridge for emergency relief – Windows Phone, iOS, and Android included. The folks at NTT DoCoMo have tipped January 22nd for the release of the Sony Xperia Tablet Z. ASUS has made it clear that they’re thinking about a Windows 8 smartphone for the near future.

Canada has decided they’ll be denying the USA access to Megaupload server data. Insiders have tipped the idea that AT&T will be acquiring Europe – or at least a mobile carrier therein. Domo the Journey is chomping it’s way to the USA with big ol’ teeth.

SlashGear Morning Wrap-up: January 16th, 2013

This morning the automotive madness continues with the ultra-hot all-digital instrument panel for the 2014 Corvette Stingray. The folks at Bang & Olufsen are shuttering shops across the nation as smaller groups like Leap Motion take off into outer space. You can also purchase a $500 HAL 9000 replica now if you’d like, proving it’s not the economy that’s dying, it’s just certain sectors (nerd loving nostalgia not included).

Google Glass (or Project Glass if you prefer) has launched several new news bits, one of them sort of shunning international developers as USA developers are called in to work. The big Google Glass developer events are in San Francisco and New York, mind you. Researchers are projecting wearables like Google Glass to surge by 2017, due in no small part to the release of Google Glass here in 2013.

You’ll be able to pick up the game the Cave starting on January 22nd. There’s been a rather sizable accusation today by AMD that former employees had raided document shelves prior to moving to NVIDIA – this is a big deal even (and perhaps especially) if it isn’t true. If you’re hoping for Pokemon on your iPhone, it might be coming soon.

You’ll want to see the tablet known as Kite HD, running both Ubuntu Linux and Android with a quad-core processor under the hood. There’s a deal going on right now with Windows 8′s app collection where the developer favorite gets their own television advertisement. And don’t go any further today before you realize that Jerry McDougal has resigned.

SlashGear Morning Wrap-up: January 15th, 2013

This morning we’re jumping right in on rumor bashing with LG’s own response to the suggestion that they’re ending production of the Nexus 4. We’re ready for the Huawei Ascend D2 as it’s released tomorrow, a rather strange invention that’ll allow you to work with your smartphone with long fingernails, and Kayak’s Price Trend – a new update made for travel cost saving in a big way. There’s also an auto show going on right this minute (NAIAS 2013), if you did not know, with beasts like the Lexus 2014 IS being revealed for the first time.

Delta has revealed a fabulous new app for the iPad bringing a glass bottom to your airplane ride. The PlayStation 4 has been teased for a pre-E3 reveal in May. The case known as ClamCase Pro has been shown off this week as a way to turn your iPad into a notebook.

The newest version of MySpace has been revealed with Justin Timberlake luring in new users with a promise of a brand new music track. You’ll want to have a peek at the Hyundai HCD-14 concept as it shows its face for the first time at the North American International Auto Show.

The Cadillac ELR has been brought forth with a blend of EV and luxury styling. Panasonic appears to have pushed forth past CES with a release of a full array of 3D cameras complete with 3D panorama modes. Check out the new Borderlands 2 DLC this week in Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt – it’s strange! And if you’re in China this week, you’ll be seeing the cellular versions of the iPad mini and the iPad 4 (with retina display) hitting stores for the first time!
