If you thought $300 was a lot of money to drop on the Big Jambox, Jawbone has just released an update that might make that amount a little easier to swallow. The 2.0 software for the large Bluetooth speaker brings new AAC support for iOS 6.1 that promises better audio streams with fewer interruptions, two more hours of battery life when streaming from a iOS 6.1 device, synced volume control, a mode that silences all voice prompts and tones, improved LED response time and last but not least, support for the PS Vita. Simply head over to Jawbone’s MyTalk website, plug in your Big Jambox via USB and follow the instructions on how to make your big booming speaker even better.

BlackBerry 10 has been out in the wild for almost a month, and today early adopters will begin receiving the first update to the new platform: version 10.0.10.85. Battery performance has been addressed, and over 60 “optimizations” should help lengthen the time between charges. Other changes of note are the “improved performance” of third-party apps, and that the camera should now produce superior low-light snaps. In-browser video playback has also been tweaked, and importing online contacts should work better, as should call logging in the BlackBerry Hub. Finally, the new software is supposed to fix issues with Gmail calendars. BlackBerry says the 150MB OTA update is available on some carriers right now, and will roll out to everyone “over the coming weeks.” Head to the source for the full changelog.

Facebook‘s got a fresh update for its main iOS app, and version 5.4 has some pleasant additions coming your way. The social network is throwing in the ability to send voice messages (which has been available on Android for a little over a week, and on iOS through Messenger) and share video recordings directly through the app, and it’s also enhanced functionality in the Nearby tab as well. We’re still all waiting impatiently for Graph Search on the mobile front, but we can at least enjoy some new ways of showing the world what we’re up to. Head to the source to download the update.

Owners of the Samsung Galaxy S III on AT&T have had the opportunity to download and install Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) since early December, but the rollout was kept rather quiet and the ROM was limited to ambitious souls willing to install and use Kies — Samsung’s proprietary desktop software — to get it. Finally, AT&T has told us that an OTA (over-the-air) update will be available beginning today to anyone who is still using Ice Cream Sandwich, though it’ll require a WiFi connection. Still, this is a much better situation for the vast majority of GS3 users who may not have even realized that an update was even offered to them in the first place.

Most US models of the Samsung Galaxy Note II have already been updated with Multi-Window — a split-screen feature that allows users to view two apps at once — but AT&T is the last of the four national powers that hasn’t pushed the feature out to its customers. That will change tomorrow, as AT&T has confirmed to us in an email that it will roll out the new build over the air at some point during the day. We’re happy that users won’t have to rely on Samsung’s proprietary Kies desktop software to update their devices, but minor downloads like this are typically facilitated OTA. There’s no word on if the ROM will be pushed out in phases to minimalize the impact on AT&T’s servers, but don’t be terribly worried if you don’t get notified right away.
