deviantART member Callykarishokka makes very cute stuffed toys that she calls puggles. I’m not sure if she came up with the name herself or if this is a type of stuffed toy, but the name certainly fits the appearance of the toys. Most of the puggles belong in what she calls Puggleformers: adorable versions of Transformers.
The Autobot logo alone is killing me with cuteness. Cally has also made puggle versions of other geeky characters for her customers.
Sadly, Cally isn’t accepting commissions as of this writing. For now we’ll have to be content with ogling her puggles. Check out Cally’s deviantART page for more pictures.
Sonic the Hedgehog arrives on Android, headed exclusively to Nintendo on the console side
Posted in: Today's ChiliUSSR and the USA. Batman and Joker. Christoph Waltz and… well, everyone. It’s pretty tough to look at the world’s best-known rivalries and exclude one of history’s finest — that being, of course, Sonic and Mario. The gritty battle between Nintendo and Sega gave fans on both sides plenty to converse about over the years, and one might say that the video game industry as a whole benefited from the back-and-forth. Now that Sega is a shell of its former self, though, the company’s most iconic character is turning to its archrival in search of shelter. On the console side, Nintendo will be the exclusive home for Sonic games going forward, with the Wii U and 3DS set to become the homes for the next three titles — details of which should be revealed “in the coming weeks.” (Update: Looks as if Nintendo has outed a few more details. Sonic Lost World and Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games have been name-checked in particular.)
Meanwhile, Android users will be pleased to know that Sonic the Hedgehog was released today in the Google Play store. It’s available for $2.99, while iOS users are also being granted a free update to coincide.

After a hard day of spiraling through loops and collecting rings, it’s time for a good shower. A hedgehog can get pretty dirty running around all those 16-bit landscapes. This Sonic the Hedgehog soap should help. Forget inserting it in your console. Instead, insert it in your armpits and other crevices to get squeaky clean.
This one is grape soda scented. Supposedly this soap will make your hands soft, which should help you interact better with your controller. Just don’t try jamming it into your SEGA Genesis unless you want a nasty surprise.
This neat soap shaped was made by Digitalsoaps, and will cost you just $7(USD) – which is actually a little more than a used Sonic the Hedgehog cartridge.
Sonic is one of the iconic games of our time, along with Mario and Zelda just to name a few, and it looks like just like the Mario and Zelda series, Sonic has no intentions of fading into quiet obscurity because thanks to new rumors, it seems that SEGA is set to announce a new Sonic game come February! According to the rumors, this particular game has been in development before Sonic Generations which is interesting because supposedly this particular Sonic game will be available on pretty much every platform. This includes the Nintendo Wii U, the Sony PlayStation 3, the Microsoft Xbox 360, the Nintendo 3DS, PlayStation Vita, the PC and even next-gen consoles.
The game is expected to feature 20 three-act stages, multiple playable characters to choose from and both 2D and 3D levels. A teaser for the game will also be expected to be launched on the 2nd of February, with the full reveal of the game to follow shortly after. Rumors are also suggesting that the game will ultimately be released sometime in September. We suggest taking this with a grain of salt for now, but if you’re a huge fan of the Sonic franchise, be sure to check back with us in the next couple of weeks where hopefully we will have more to share.

Mixed up Mickey Mouse
Posted in: Today's ChiliWho’s the leader of the club that’s made for you and me? M-I-C-K-E-Y-M-O-U-S-E! But did you know that when Mickey Mouse isn’t leading the Mouseketeers, he’s going through life masquerading as other animated characters? At least that’s what I’ve been led to believe by these amusing Mickey mashups by artist Nicholas “Harshness” Hyde.
The series envisions Mickey assuming the form of other iconic characters, including Sonic the Hedgehog, Papa Smurf, Snoopy, Bugs Bunny and Garfield the cat. My personal fave is Pikachu, so that’s why he got the big hero image above.
They’re available as prints from Harshness’ Etsy shop, though they’re a little tricky to find – but it’s not like there aren’t plenty of other cool designs to keep you occupied over there while you poke around.
Sega Genesis Emulator Runs on Nook Simple Touch: Sonic the Black and White Hedgehog
Posted in: Today's ChiliElectrostatic ink based E-readers aren’t exactly the best devices for moving images, due to their slow refresh rates and black and white screens. But that didn’t stop somebody from porting a SEGA Genesis emulator to the $99 Android-based Nook Simple Touch reader anyhow.
YouTuber ndncnbvcuyuys (try and pronounce that!) posted this video of his rooted Nook Simple Touch running the Genesis emulator, and playing Sonic the Hedgehog 2. It’s clear from the video clip below that the Nook is more than up to the task of emulating the classic 16-bit console.
I’m actually impressed how well the side-scroller plays, given its fast action and movement – though it’s unclear if the emulator supports sound. You can check out detailed pics of the emulator in action over on Imgur, and some other fun emulators running on the Nook Simple Touch here.

If you’ve played Sonic before you’ll know what to expect, the familiar running, jumping, Sonic Spin Dash, golden rings, Eggman, and running circles around your foes – it’s all there. Sonic 4 Episode 1 is available now from the BlackBerry App World (worldwide except in Japan) and will set you back $6.99. Check it out and let us know what you think.
