Aluminum Signs Commemorate Star Wars Ships

You know how they have the building plaques on some ships to commemorate their construction? Every Star Trek ship has one on the bridge too. Well, even though the Star Wars ships never had these, you can buy them from Big Bay Toy Store.

They’re printed on brushed aluminum, with a black box backing for hanging and a certificate of authenticity. It’s a great way to pretend that your office or living room is a Star Wars ship, even though it doesn’t look like one. Choose from the Millennium Falcon, the X-34 Landspeeder, or the T-65 X-Wing Starfighter.

Each plate is limited to 295 pieces and is available for pre-order now. They will cost you a crazy $264.99(USD) each, but they do look pretty awesome. Serious Star Wars fans will want at least one.

Star Wars Spaceship Wedding Invites: Run to the Altar in Under 12 Parsecs

Do you normally just throw wedding invitations out as you laugh and call the bride and groom suckers? Well, you wouldn’t throw these wedding invitations away. After all, they come with starships. Who’s the sucker now?

There’s probably no better day for Star Wars fans to get married than May the 4th. It was the perfect day for Homer Liwag. You probably remember the Indiana Jones engagement ring and the Star Wars wedding band he created. So of course, for his own wedding, he created some amazing invitations.

Each invitation comes in a little black box that holds a miniature Star Wars ship attached to an invitation that initially read only “Take Off.” Once the recipient took off the lid, the full invitation and a tiny spaceship was revealed. Now, that is classy.

Apple revises campus plans, postpones secondary complex to save money

Apple revises campus plans, postpones building Tantau Ave complex to save money

Even with $145 billion in its back pocket, Apple isn’t above a little cost-saving. Following rumors that its new campus was $2 billion over budget, the company has revised its plans for the facility. While the UFO-style HQ is untouched, a secondary complex that was to be built along North Tantau Ave. has been pushed back to phase two — which means it’ll begin construction in 2016, just after people start working in the spaceship.

Shades Put Spaceships on Your Windows, Keep Your Nerd World Private

Check out these awesome window shades that put spaceships on your window and at the same time help isolate you from sunlight, with only your action figures and DVD collections to keep you company. I kid. I would love to have these on my window too, since I’m a huge science fiction nerd too.

blind
You can choose from a variety of blinds that feature wireframe images of some of the most famous ships in sci-fi.

There is a TARDIS, the Millennium Falcon, the USS Enterprise, a Klingon Bird of Prey, a BSG inspired Viper and Boba Fett’s Slave I ship. But which do you choose? They are all amazing. Maybe if you have enough windows, you can have them all.

They cost £99 (~$152 USD) and up over at DirectBlinds, depending on the size of your windows, and any options you add.

Now that you’ve seen these, you’ll want to redecorate and try to convince your wife that spaceships will look good in your windows.

Star Wars Spaceship Guitars Rock the Cantina

If you like to cosplay as the Cantina Band from Mos Eisley, check out these amazing Star Wars spaceship guitars and be insanely jealous. They are  elegant musical weapons for a more civilized age.

These ships are amazing and are actual working guitars built by 64-year-old Tom Bingham. That’s quite a hobby he has and he is awesome at it. And even though people beg him, he doesn’t sell them.

Each guitar takes about three months to build and is made from parts purchased at car boot sales in the UK.

Tom has created the Millennium Falcon, Y-Wing and B-Wing guitars from Star Wars and he also has about 20 other custom designs that he’s made over the years. These could be the best guitars ever.

Apple’s Spaceship HQ Is Getting a Downgrade From Absurd to Just Plain Extravagant

Back in 2011, when Steve Jobs announced his plans to build a spaceship-like Cupertino HQ for Apple, we all knew it was going to be one ridiculously lavish office. But according to Bloomberg Businessweek, it’s due for a bit of a downgrade before construction starts this June. It’ll still be crazy, just not totally absurd. More »

LEGO Valentine Spaceship Ready to Invade Hearts

Mark Anderson has done it again. He can’t help it. He loves building LEGO creations. A holiday is just another excuse to create something neat out of the little plastic bricks. In preparation for Valentine’s Day, Mark built this cool spaceship.

Valentine ship

Of course, it is shaped like a heart, but this heart is powered by two huge round red engines that swivel and look super powerful. Of course, the pilot’s appropriately named “Captain Val N. Tine.”

The Captain has to deal with an enemy rocket that has pierced the fuselage and the rocket looks a lot like Cupid’s arrow through the heart.

This would be a great gift for any geek girl into LEGO.

Kid’s Spaceship Bed: To Sleep and Beyond!

There are cool dads and there are awesome dads. Redditor JeremiahGordon is the awesome type. You see, he built this cool spaceship his son Finn’s fifth birthday – and it is completely amazing.
spaceship bed

He made a loft platform for the bed, with portals that look out into space, and then created a spaceship control room in the space below the bed. Most dads would have stopped at the loft platform. Dad pieced together the master control board from junk he found in a television station’s dumpster. They weren’t using the stuff anymore.

spaceship bed controls

It has so many switches and levers that this kid will never go to bed on time again. I hope he grows up to be an Astronaut, or at least do something this cool for his own kids when he’s older. Though he could just grow up to be a TV director.
