This Spider-Man Costume is Strange but Spectacular

A couple of weeks ago we saw a sweet Amazing Spider-Man costume that looks like he stepped out of a videogame or movie set. I’m not sure if Ryan Turney’s Spidey costume is superior to that one, but it is at least equally astonishing. Especially since I don’t know if it’s based on one of Marvel’s comics or if it’s Turney’s original design. From an untold tale perhaps?

Here are some more pictures of Turney taken at the 2013 Comicpalooza:

The web backpack is an awesome touch. Check out Turney’s Facebook page for more photos of him in his Spider-Man costume.

Amazing Spider-Man Costume: Does Whatever a Spider-Man Costume Does

We’ve seen a lot of cool costumes over the years and many look amazing, but this Spider-Man costume may be the most movie accurate costume we’ve ever seen. It isn’t just the details, but the quality is simply amazing too.

In fact, his costumes were so amazing that he claims Marvel sent him a cease and desist letter since he used to make them for other people too. Really, instead of being so heavy-handed, they need to just hire this guy. It is some truly awesome work. If I had a costume this good, I would move to New York and fight crime and put it all on my Youtube channel.

But, with a great costume comes great responsibility. I don’t know if I’m ready for that. Maybe I would just admire myself in the mirror.

Spider-Beard, Spider-Beard, Does Whatever a Spider-Beard Does…

For the first time in my many years, I’ve started to grow a little bit of a beard. But it’s more of a Miami Vice, Don Johnson five-o-clock shadow thing than a real, manly beard. On the other hand, this guy has this facial hair thing nailed…

Chad Roberts took home both the Best-in-Show and Freaky Funky Free Style award at the 2nd Annual Garden State Beard & ‘Stache Competition (yes, there is such a thing) vanquishing his many hairy foes with the ultimate Spider-Man beard.

I wonder if he had to spin some webs of various sizes to hold that thing in place like that.

Marvel Superhero Family Decals: Avengers (and X-Man) on Board

Whether your preferred mode of transportation is a car, truck, motorcycle, moped, Segway, bicycle, unicycle, skateboard, or even an invisible jet plane, comic book fans will want to pimp out their rides with these Marvel Family Car Decals.

These small vinyl stickers come with images of Iron Man, Captain America, Wolverine and Spider-Man, along with their family personas of Mom, Dad, Daughter, Son, Dog and Cat. Since they come with 2 of each character, you’ll even be able to represent a family of 10 (assuming 2 of each type of person – that’s more Moms and Dads than most of us have, but possibly fewer cats.)

Mix and match ‘em to assemble your own superhero league. The full set of decals is available over at ThinkGeek for just $14.99(USD). Now stop asking where The Hulk, Black Widow, Thor, Nick Fury and that guy with the bow and arrow are. You’re not getting them. Personally, I’m waiting  for a set with Magneto, Loki, Green Goblin, Red Skull and Doctor Doom’s families.

Spider-Man and Batman LEGO Cookies: Marvel and DC Unite! (in My Belly)

These cookies look delicious. Any kid would be happy to pig out on these sugary treats. Forget a birthday cake. Fill my belly with some LEGO pieces, some Batmen and some friendly neighborhood Spider-Men.

These come from Cookie Artisan, who is all about delicious snacks that are just as cute as any cake. These Batman and Spider-Man LEGO cookies are so completely awesome and delicious looking they are making my mouth water.

Man, I wish I was a kid and my mom made these for me. I could stare at that image all day long, but I would just be hungry and jealous.

Spider-Man Blu-ray comes with a Second Screen app for iPad and Sony’s Android tablets

SpiderMan Bluray comes with a Second Screen app for iPad and Sony's Android tablets

Since no blockbuster movie in 2012 can have a home release without a second screen companion app for fans to dig through extra content while they watch, Sony has, naturally, announced one for The Amazing Spider-Man. Just like the only three movies to best its take at the box office this year (The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises and even The Hunger Games), Spider-Man’s app syncs with the movie in a Timeline Mode that pulls up featurettes, storyboards and the like, while Production Mode lets users sift through the moviemaking process, then select particular clips to play on their TV. Unlike some of the others it is not only on iPad but also Android, however the press release indicates it’s restricted to Sony’s own Tablet S and Xperia Tablet S. Still, we were able to initiate the 500MB+ download and access it on non-Sony tablets including the Nexus 7 and an CyanogenMod HP TouchPad, so your mileage may vary. You can check out the apps for free at the links below, a preview trailer embedded after the break and snag the movie itself for $25 on Amazon, delivered November 9th.
