Sprint early upgrade program in the works, promises to ‘One Up’ the competition

The Now Network is finally ready to join the early upgrade party, and plans to launch its own smartphone installment program later this month. According to CNET, Sprint One Up will launch on September 20th, giving consumers the option to split the cost of a new device into 24 monthly payments. Partaking in the program puts customers on a slightly discounted version of one of Sprint’s new Unlimited, My Way or All-in plans — a savings of up to $15. It’s not a bad concession, considering the fact that a $649 devices tacks an extra $27 on your monthly bill. A chart uncovered by CNET pits the program against Sprint’s competitors, literally illustrating how the upgrade deal “One Ups” the competition. Cheesy, but effective marketing. Take a gander at the pricing table above, or see CNET’s full report at the source link.

iPhone 5c pre-orders are open: AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and other carriers are now live

Preorder your Apple iPhone 5c right now!

Apple is ready to start taking your money for the iPhone 5c in all its multi-hued glory. You can hit the Apple Store to order one on a two year contract through Sprint, AT&T and Verizon for $99 (16GB) and $199 (32GB). It can also be pre-ordered from all those carriers directly (see the links above) at the the same prices, and if unlocked is more your thing, a contract-free version is available through T-Mobile for $549 (16GB) and $649 (32GB). Pre-orders have also opened across ten other countries, like Canada and the UK, where the sun has already risen on Friday the 13th. They’ll start shipping out on September 20th, the same day the iPhone 5s hits stores. A bit more than some thought they’d be, but you can’t put a price on being first, right?

Update: Apple’s store is now up, and it looks like you can also pre-order from T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon at the links above. Other international carriers are also taking orders; we’ve rounded up a few at the More Coverage link after the break.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 reaches the FCC with AT&T- and Sprint-compatible bands

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 reaches the FCC with AT&T- and Sprint-compatible bands

We’ve seen a few international Galaxy Note 3 models pass through the FCC for approval; now, it’s time for two American versions. The first variant, the SM-N900A, has just cleared the US agency with support for AT&T’s GSM, HSPA and LTE frequencies — most likely, it’s a peek at what we’ll see on October 1st. A second model, the SM-N900R4, appears destined for LTE-capable CDMA carriers such as Sprint, US Cellular and numerous regional US providers. While there are no surprises in the FCC filings, it’s evident that Samsung’s giant Android smartphone will soon be ubiquitous in the States.

HTC One Max Will Be Headed For Sprint [Rumor]

HTC One Max Will Be Headed For Sprint [Rumor]We have been hearing a fair bit about the HTC One Max as the device has appeared in leaked images along with its alleged specifications. Now thanks to a tweet by the ever-reliable @evleaks, it seems that the HTC One Max moniker has since been “confirmed” and that the handset is expected to make its way onto Sprint’s network, although no specific dates were mentioned. The last we heard, the handset was expected to see a release in Q4 2013, so it possible an announcement could be made in the upcoming weeks/months.

The HTC One Max will be HTC’s attempt at a phablet that will give Samsung’s recently announced Galaxy Note 3 a run for its money. Its rumored specs include a 5.9” Super LCD-3 display with a resolution of 1920×1080. It will sport a quad-core processor by Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 800, clocked at 2.3GHz with 2GB of RAM accompanying it, a 3,200mAh battery, and will run on Android. Interestingly one of the features of the HTC One Max would be a fingerprint sensor as well, a feature that was recently introduced with the iPhone 5S as well, so it will be interesting to see which technology will outperform the other.

Sprint to start LG G2 preorders on October 11th

We’ve seen AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon commit to releasing the LG G2 this fall… but where’s Sprint’s version? Don’t worry, fans, the carrier hasn’t forgotten you. Sprint now says it will take pre-orders for the $200 Android flagship starting on October 11th, with a release “in time for the holidays.” In return for the wait, the provider is giving out free QuickWindow covers to everyone who pre-orders a G2 through its website. We doubt that the gift will quell the jealousy of Sprint customers whose friends get a G2 weeks in advance, but the more patient among those subscribers can register their interest at the source link.

Sprint Offers Moto X For $199.99 This September 6th

Sprint Offers Moto X For $199.99 This September 6thWe do know that the Moto X from Motorola would be arriving on a number of mobile carriers, with US Cellular being the most recently reported one on our site, but here we are with official word from the folks over at Sprint that Moto X will be available from them tomorrow (September 6th) for $199.99 a pop – with a new contract, of course. Having said that, there were whispers going around that the Moto X could very well see a $100 price cut sometime in the fourth quarter of this year, so would it be wise to fork out good money for this handset in lieu of a possible price drop? Only you, the consumer, can answer that question depending on your needs at the moment.

Similar to AT&T and Verizon, Sprint has set an asking price of $199.99 for the Moto X as mentioned earlier, although as an incentive for new customers who want to make a switch in their phone number to Sprint, they will be able to pick up this handset for a mere $99.99. Right from the get go, however, Moto Maker will not be made available to Sprint users, but this ought to be available within a few months’ time. [Press Release]

Moto X coming to Sprint tomorrow for $199.99 on a two-year contract

We’ve already seen Google and Motorola’s creation, the Moto X, land on AT&T and Verizon, and now it’s time for Sprint to add the handset to its lineup. The Now Network announced today that the Moto X will be available for $199.99 with a two-year contract, though there is a limited time promotion which allows new subscribers to get the device for $100 less by way of instant credit. Sprint’s going to only be offering the Moto X in woven black and white to kick things off, but the carrier did say that the Moto Maker feature is expected to be supported “in the coming months.”
